I found one. Since Missy’s cockpit is 42 inches long, I ordered the Universal Plus, which fits cockpit lengths between 40 and 57 inches. I ordered it from REI. First of all, it’s cheaper than Amazon (REI has a sale going through 7/4); second, it has free shipping (as opposed to $10.95 at Amazon); third, if I need to return it, I just have to take it back to the local store; and most importantly, I have like $700 of REI rewards so it’s FREE! It should be here on Monday, the 3rd.
Decent Saturday heave. Of course, when I’m scanning damages and empties, I come across a crumpled antifreez box(taped, not glued like if it was new). So as I look in it, I find an invoice. Large Auto Parts Compay decided to save a couple of cents by reusing a box(too big for the item), and now the customer is out a $150 Porsche Cayenne suspension control arm.
Hippie, I look forward to the pics. Glad you enjoyed.

So I guess that’s 27. I’ve been at my current place for 18? years. By far the longest anywhere.
Did a trip up the lake and dropped off some stuff at the gift shop. Took a ride through a wildlife preserve. And now back at the house with laundry going. A truly thrilling Saturday.
Long Night tonight, so as per the uz, I’m powering through a case of the idonwannas.
My fancy popsicles are supposedly on the way. I was reeeeeally hoping they’d arrive before I had to leave, so I could stick 'em in the freezer and maybe take one with me.
DeeBee’s Organics Italian Ice Variety Pack, (Pack of 6) https://a.co/d/6jvdOWH
Playing board games with my best friend and Hubby. I actually won the first game, which is highly unusual. But I’m not complaining. I can use winning a few a games.
I’m brain dead when it comes to responses, but I’ll add my moved because that’s simple today.
0-2 - Kingston, NY
2-15 - Downsville, NY
15-18 - North Port, FL
18-21 - Lakeland, FL
21-27 - St. Pete, FL
27-28 - NYC area
28-31 - Philly
31-Now - Nashville.
I had a few moves within St. Pete, NYC area and Nashville. Not as much as it sometimes feels.
Game’s back on. Have s great Caturday, all!
Mrs. L.A. painted the bottom of the catio heater with (I hope) high-temperature paint. She went to put the new emitter screen on, but it’s too small by ¾ inch. She’ll send it back. She called the company that made the heater, and they can give her the correct part (cheaper); only they’re out of stock until August. (That’s OK.)
My kayak has been washed.
You people are very productive today!
I spent a few hours on teh internet looking up medical stuff related to my current IMHO thread (none of which makes me feel like everything is fine), then a couple of hours pulling weeds and trimming a rhododendron. Then the sun came out, so I stopped humming Simon & Garfinkel’s “Cloudy” and came in for an as-yet-undetermined lunch. Probably after lunch I’ll shred some papers, move some books around, and brush the cat. If I had a kayak, I’d definitely be inspired to clean it.
Except for 2 years of college in Nebraska, I lived in the same house that I was brought to a few days after I was born. In 2010 due to tree roots getting onto the sewer line, ( neighbour planted an ash tree then left and rents the house, does not respond to calls about it) and as I was unemployed at the time I sold the house and moved to a condo four blocks away.
A year later I got a new job and bought a flat in the condo. It will be much easier to age in at the condo than buy a new house.
This morning I woke to a power out. It took an embarrassingly long time for me to figure this out. Koritza is very good at turning things on and off, so it wasn’t until I tried the bathroom light, that I slowly got the inkling that the power must be out.
It is odd because our condo is on 2 separate lines, for this to happen both lines had to go down. The power went out at 7, and I woke at 9:30.
I went on the building shopping trip, and hoped that I wouldn’t get caught in a thunderstorm.
Shopped at michaels, home goods, tj maxx, then had a filet o fish, and ended up at target.
The storm was starting to rumble and I hoped that the shuttle would get me before the storm. It did!
Fun thing about scattered thunderstorms, we could hear thunder and see lightning but no rain in south philly. As we got to centre city the rain started, and when we got to fairmount it was pouring. 7ish miles between the 2 areas of philly.
Power was restored to the tower I live in at 10am. The shopping trip got back to the building at 1. After unloading and getting settled, I’m catching up on what the world was doing while I was out.
I’m back home and icing. The pet parade was fun. It was all dogs, most of whom wanted to ditch the route and get scritches from bystanders. There was live music and various booths, but I needed to get home.
Uh-oh. I’ll pop over to have a look.
started sunging “Here Comes the Sun”?
flyboy, when you bolt kayaks to the house wall, dos it also keep them from getting stolen?
Quiet house again. Daughter and her spawn came over for a while. I made a big pot of navy bean soup to share with MIL - I just finished dividing it into containers. I also roll-sucked, loaded the dishwasher, de-crumbed the toaster, and helped FCD sort papers. He’s feeling bad again and he’s back in bed. The joint aches are back. If it doesn’t clear soon, we’ll call the doc and she’ll put in orders for bloodwork.
But while it’s quiet, I’m going to plop in my recliner with my tablet, because I can…
I can see why you’re worried. I hope you getting good news soon!
Thanks. I just had a call saying the urine sample was contaminated, so I’ll start by asking my PCP for a retest and several other urine and blood tests, which Ockham’s Razor tells me is the next step.
The new rudder extension/retraction cord has been installed. Seems to work, so I think I did it right.
The racks bolt to the wall, not the kayak.
I wish I’d bought the Ocean Kayak Scrambler I saw for sale locally several years ago. I like my Drifter, but it’s always good to have another 'yak. 'Yakwoman could use it, or we might have a guest one day. I searched Bellingham Craigslist and found one for $259. But it’s in Beaverton, Oregon – an entire state away.
that video is why I’m. banned from going to Switzerland if i ever get to Europe lol …
I’ve lived in 2 residences in one town with my parents, 4 permanent duty stations with USAF plus 4 temporary training stations across 2 countries and 5 US states, then 5 primary residences in 3 states since, plus two different part-time medium-term residences in two different states. I’m ignoring the back-and-forth and intra-semester moves during college.
So 11 real lifetime residences and 6 part-time or short-time. Plus 4-5 places for one or two semesters each while at college.
I might have one or two moves left in me before the last one to the morgue or Ye Olde Fartes’ home.
Afternoon, all. Read lots, retained little. I’m a little distracted.
My latest mistress. This is Cheddar, a 4 month old female shorthair that looks like a little drag version of Caelan, my 16 year old orange boy.
She has claimed ownership of the sunroom and is purring her heart out. She’ll get run of the house tomorrow, after the other cats get used to her. Back to 4, which is the right number for cats. More and people look at you strangely. Fewer and you are spending too much time and money on yourself, you selfish bastard.
Enjoy the weekend. I certainly am!
@silenus my heart and head just essploded from orange cuteness overload.
silenus, butterscotch kittehs are my faves! You have two gorgeous ones.
Stuff got done and now I’m experimenting with setting glitter on a paper butterfly so’s it doesn’t shed. I am hoping that it turns out well and I can put some sparkly flutterbys into the current album amongst the sunflowers.
Girl gingers are fun. Enjoy her!
