(Old) It's snacktime in the MMP!

He coming along; he’s continuing to increase his strength little by little; I’d say he’s up to approx 25% to 33% of his prior fitness level at this time. I no longer feel stressed out by the thought that was impressed upon us that 50% of the people who get Stem Cell Transplants die. I’ve told the doctors that I feel that he will be one of the success stories. Thanks for asking. I am extremely appreciative of all the thoughts and prayers that everyone has had/said for us!!!

I didn’t want to say anything earlier but now that it’s been rejected, I wasn’t impressed by the Ronceverte house; I was concerned about the aluminum siding and all the mountains that were around and meant that, like you said, the roads were narrow and windy. I like that the Chapmanville home is brick. Not sure that I would like being on what appears to be sort of a major road but looks like the front yard is deep enough that you’re not that close to the road. And yes, being near younger relatives is a plus. Two hours is not that far to drive to go see the close family several times a year. I hope the inspection doesn’t reveal anything that would be a negative. I noticed it’s been on the market for 49 days and that they reduced the price by $24k 2 weeks ago which brings it close to the zillow estimate. I think they’re motivated to sell.

Cooked chicken breast, nuked frozen carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and baked potato for Hubs and sweet potato for self. Also, warmed up applesauce after putting homemade apple pie spice in it.

Glad I’m over the hump, hope you all made it over succesfully as well.

Well, Annie’s about 7 pounds and we’ve never had her around cats because my mom is allergic. But, who knows? They could be best buddies!

MusicMan is home and I just took my evening pills, so I’ll make it to bed by midnight.

Evening all. Finally did make it to the gym for 2,000 yards of backstroking, didn’t get out until after 9pm, so it’ll be a late bedtime but hopefully a good sleep tonight. Rain is gone but so is the 80F temperatures, we’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Flyboy, I go to a Tire Discounters for the basic oil changes and lubes, they have been helpful in the past and seem to know what they are doing. Had the 50,000 mile service done by the dealership and yeah, they do like to add things… Also, I don’t use the public swimming place, my gym has a 25-yd 4 lane pool which I admit is rare in gyms, but it sold me on it.

JtC, looks like you’re getting close to a decision point; I hope it all works out for you in the next few months. And I thought everyone in W. Virginia had a tractor…

Oopsie, enjoy building the world. Have a safe trip.

Cat Glove, the season ends 18 May, so plenty of time. There is a tournament in Knoxville I may go and referee at but that is 13-16 June and my travels don’t start until the 20th.

swampy, thanks for the reminder.

BobB, happy restaurant building.

Sensei, just glad to know your still with us.

OK, couple of You Tubers to catch up with and then bedtime will be upon me. Take care and I’ll be back on Thorsday.

That’s so wonderful to hear, it must be such a relief for both of you to see the improvement. Thoughts and prayers will continue!

This is only our fourth home, we are still noobs as far as that sort of thing is concerned. Please don’t hesitate to point out issues or concerns, we really do need all the help we can get!

Twenty years ago, the Ronceverte place would have been perfect (if only the ceilings were higher), but sadly we are too old to have to wait half an hour for emergency help nowadays.

The original home, without the two additions, was a Sears house. I remember seeing them in the big Christmas catalog, never knew anyone who lived in one.

Well…that seems like a good reason to keep GG harnessed for their first meeting. GG is knee high and very fluffy so he looks bigger than he is. He loves to play chase-chase, so if Annie runs, he will chase while expecting her to turn around at some point and chase him back.

Hush yo mouth!!!

Hubs has never once driven a tractor. BFF’s hubby has a tractor and Hubs has never once walked over to admire it or even talked to Herc about it. BFF says that tractors are more expensive than Harleys and less useful.

Besides, our new place won’t have a place for a tractor.

There are train tracks behind the homes, the realtor said the trains slow down in town and Hubs said the walls and floor didn’t vibrate or anything when the train went by. Trains aren’t constantly barking dogs. It’s much easier to get used to a train going by every hour than dogs barking their heads off randomly.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

No worries, take care of yourself first.

: continues crossing fingers :

Can you see 'em? nothing like drinking beer and watching the trains chug by.

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 6c/42f with a predicted high of 12c/53f, and partly cloudy. Weather app says “A fucking optimist would say it’s partly sunny outside. Fuck that optimist.” Yes, but it is sunny out there and it’s a really nice day.

JtC I am glad to hear you’re putting in an offer on that house, it definitely looks a vast improvement on that other one!

Sticky Buns hope Annie’s feeling better and has forgiven you properly for the emergency bath.

Cat Glove it’s good to hear there’s improvement, you must both be so relieved to have something positive there.

Sensei just stop by and say hello when you can, you need to look after yourself first!

Oopsie enjoy building the planet, sounds like a fun thing to do

I was up and out of the house early today, there are roadworks at the end of my street so we have temporary traffic lights and the bus stop closest to me has been suspended from use until the roadworks are complete. That meant walking a bit further to the bus stop before my usual one, and trying to get out in time for the earlier bus. Accomplished both objectives, got to the station in time for the nice train to Big City Station (which ran on time), and scuttled from P2 to P12 for the train to campus.

Despite the train operator promising 6-carriage trains on the cross-city line, today’s train was only 3 carriages so it was rammed. Fortunately the journey is less than 10 minutes long so I can deal with it. Wasn’t the nice new carriages either, older but not the really horribly scabby ones.

Busy day today too, I have two meetings this morning and then I’ve got a 2hr shadowing session with our Quality Manager this afternoon so although I am at work, very little actual work will be done. I am also tired, because I had a late night so I predict this evening I’ll be vegging on the sofa with a lapful of cat.

FCD’s aunt lives within spitting distance of tracks and she said she no longer even notices trains going by. Unless, of course, she needs to get out of the neighborhood to go to Costco… (Costco is a running inside joke about her - it amused me…)

This morning, FCD has to take his mom to her retina specialist and I need to go to Lowe’s for some lumber. Then tonight, MIL wants to shower, so that’s my chore. Not sure what will happen between those two events. But it’ll be a nice day, so I’m sure I’ll have some outdoor time.

I just checked and see that supposedly my glasses are ready. I’ll call to verify since they didn’t call me. But what pisses me off - my appointment was Feb 24. In the latest update, the order for my specs was placed April 9?!?!? I am not happy with these guys. Up till now, they’ve been fine, but there will be words when I go over there. Dammit.

Something else, but this is corporate, not the specific office, is logging into the patient portal. First I have to input my email address. Then they send an email with a link to a page where I have to log in. Then they text me a code that I have to input before I can finish logging in. That does seem a tad extreme for making an appointment or checking the status of my order…

Anyway, it’s another grand and glorious day in paradise. Happy Thursday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 64 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 83 and partly N.O.S. for the day. I have a doc and vampire appointment at nine-thirty this mornin’. Then it will be back to da cave to fetch OYKW. We shall head over to the church house where I will perform various duties and then over to the hog trough GC for the main feed of the day. The rest of the day shall be spent in sloth, general overall uselessness, nappage, and day drinkin’.

JtC appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the house. Hope it all goes well.

Cat_Glove great news on hub’s improvement. May it continue.

Sensei drop by and say howdy whenever you can.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and bother, I must purtify and don acceptable attire for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. This will be two days in a row. Life is just so unfair!

Happy Thursday Y’all!

So far, the tortilla here hasn’t been swimming in oil. I wouldn’t be able to eat that on Ozempic.

Good afternoon from a train station, on my way to two nights at the start of my next Camino. I walked a few days of the Camino Frances that I skipped when it was over 104° F because no. Now I’ll walk the Camino Ingles. I arrived just as the weather shifted from cold and rainy to crisp and partly cloudy, which is a whole lot more agreeable.

Wtf says 57 degrees-Its not quite ice cream season, but for me, every season is ice cream season.
No rain so I’m good.

Lemme give you an idea of what I deal with on a regular basis.

MIL is going to see her retina doc today - she has macular degeneration. Last time she saw him, he gave her a shot in the eyes to forestall wet macular. She has decided that if her eyes aren’t any better today (???) she won’t get another shot. No matter that the shots aren’t supposed to improve her eyes, but to keep them from getting worse…

Then she plans to ask him - remember, her eye doctor - to prescribe an antibiotic because the dermatologist was just a NP and didn’t give her any for her possible skin cancer. Because, yeah, antibiotics work great is stopping the spread of skin cancer (which, incidentally, has not been diagnosed.)

This is the same woman who would stop taking antibiotics when she started feeling better so she could save the rest of the pills in case she needed them again. I guess she’s an expert because her father worked in maintenance at a hospital 70-some years ago…

Sometimes I can’t withhold my MIL whines. < headdesk >

Last night during dinner a molar crown popped off. No pain. But I catastrophized until I made myself sick and went to bed at 6:30. Called the dentist first thing and have an appt at 6:45 tomorrow morning which is perfect. You see, I have a late morning appt to get me foot injected and that doctor is 45 minutes in the opposite direction. Tomorrow I have a lunch date so my tooth will be fixed so I can eat a patty melt.

Well, good morning.

It’s 35 degrees Fahrenheit and clear outside. We’ll have abundant sunshine and a high temperature of 65 degrees Fahrenheit.

It’s been a hectic few days so far this week. I’ve endured long days and fixed many stupid issues. That being said, I decided to use up my admin leave today, and tomorrow is my RDO, so I have a four-day weekend. Should I take the days off? Probably not. I have much to do, but part of what I do relies on others to do their thing, and they’re not playing. I have to burn the admin leave before the 4th of May, and next week is jam-packed, so I’m going to burn it today, plus burn another hour of earned comp time.

I plan to play in the dirt today and am looking forward to it. Right now, I’m trying to enjoy the last of my coffee for the day before I head upstairs to shower. I want to run my errands in the morning, so I’m not dealing with as much traffic.

I’ve tried to keep up but was unsuccessful.

JtC, I hope the inspection of the brick house goes well. But, whatever place you end up in, I wish you much success and happiness with the move.

FCM, I’d be on edge, too. It’s difficult to deal with that day in and day out.

Nellie, yay for a bonus visit from your daughter!

My daughter shared the plans for the house they’ll start building next month. It’s lovely, and the layout is similar to what I’ve always wanted. I wish they were building it here and not in Missouri. I miss them so much, but they seem very happy there, and the grandkids are thriving. In my heart of hearts, I was hoping that after a year, they’d decide to come back here, but I have to accept that Missouri is now their home. It’s strange; I always thought it would be my son who left the state and my daughter who would remain here, but that has not been the case.

Well, I should get going. I have a lot to do. Plus, I have to check my work email, because, as always there is some issue I need to handle and I can’t let ignore it for a couple of days because it’s very time sensitive.

Morning all. Fast has been broken and I’ve remembered that I have a 10am Eye Doctor appointment, so that’s two things accomplished. Weather is supposed to get to 80F today, but with a 50% chance of rain this afternoon and evening, so soccer is a maybe. Might try to get to the gym sometime this afternoon, it depends on how the eye appointment goes and if they dilate the eyes. Otherwise nothing much on the agenda.

wet one, hope the dentist can restore your crown and your peace of mind.

Taters, take the days off. You need to regenerate now and then and playing in the dirt and letting others sweat the stuff at work will do you good, even if you have to overwork next week.

FCM, glad you have the patience, lots of people probably wouldn’t, hang in there and make a vow you won’t be that person when you reach 92.

suzie, enjoy the walking.

I was a bit worried there until I realized you missed the “c”.

JtC, I’m about 5 miutes drive from the train tracks so I can hear the signal horns but not much else, but I think you’ll adjust ok, depends on the number of trains using it per day (and night).

Alrighty, need to check a few things on-line and then get clothed appropriately for the eye doc office. Take care all.

Amen, sister!

Oh, FCM, I’m so sorry. Sometimes the family ‘logic’ is maddening.

Enjoy your time off, Taters!

It’s been a busy morning already. I am going to the AMC this afternoon and I want to take stuff from my former classroom to see if they want it. So, my mom and I have been going through boxes to see what I am going to keep. Meanwhile Annie was hiding in the living room. We’ve finished, and I literally have the entire vehicle full plus I have to figure out how to add in a few more boxes before I go. Fortunately one of the things that I am giving them is a cart so I will be able to unload the boxes onto the cart and roll it all right in!

Now, Annie and I are relaxing on the couch and enjoying our mid morning snack. She gets tiny bits of my string cheese, but I have to eat the end piece because she doesn’t like that part.:grin: After we’re done with our break, I’ll head outside to make sure that all of the stuff fits in the car.

Back from WalMart and Lowe’s. They’re remodeling the WalMart here and every time I go, things have moved… again… Not sure when they’ll finally be done but I’m glad I don’t go there more often. It’s bad enough on my infrequent visits. Anyway, I was able to, finally, find what I was looking for. Then I got the lumber at Lowe’s. I’m in grubbies now and shortly, I’ll start digging out for the extension on the raised bed.

I did actually like making “streams” altho mostly the water sank into the dirt rather than follow my desired path. I don’t recall ever making mud pies.

Need to find my grubby shoes and get started outside. Onward!!

Happy Thursday. Today is a relatively normal day of work. I love my job and the distractions are nice, but I am really anticipating getting to the end of this semester so I can be in a position to just get things done. 45 and a half more teaching hours. Not that I’m counting.

More severe storms predicted for this afternoon. Tuesday’s were a bust. Hoping today’s will be too. My anxiety about a tree on the house has not faded. I’m down to four specific anxieties about the move. This one is the least rational.

I’ve gotten as far as I can go without FCD’s help. I even yonked out a bunch of the gawd-awful chameleon plant weed things, wearing gloves, of course, because they literally stink!! The durn things hitchhiked with some plants my mom gave me and they’re going crazy!! They must DIE DIE DIE!!!

It’s so hard being me. Dammit.

As usual, long heaving due to slow SSLAWS. Hot but profitable

:open_mouth: 1000

Howdy all! Another night of perfect poopage by miss Q’itih. The wife made her first PT appointment for tomorrow. Hopefully they can ease her pain a bit. Today’s schedule is. . .well, there is no schedule. I shall now return to my scheduled inactivity.
