(Old) “Oh shit! I see Monday!” - Spot‘s new MMP (told you I liked it)

Based on prior experience with this car, it’s probably a loose fuse that needs to be seated correctly.

Coincidentally, that is what I’m drinking at this very moment.

My lovely wife decided to get an artificial Christmas tree. It looks okay enough, but I’ve lost my marital role as “the person who didn’t grow up with Christmas trees and therefore has no anxiety about being criticized if I should set it up wrong in the stand.”

Never heard of it.

Looks like there’s one in your neck of the woods.

Arlington’s a bit of a drive, and I doubt she’d make it. Might be better off to take it to Xfinity if anything untoward happens.

That is so fantastic! I hope all goes well.

@LSLGuy

I for one cannot wait to hear all about and see bazillions of pictures.

Hopefully you will have a suitably intrepid and fun-loving companion along for such a once in a life time adventure.

Up from naptime, having an Old Fashioned and a cheeseburger. Spot is napping.

Enjoy!

I can’t speak for others, but I never try to reply to everyone. I do my best to read all, tho I do miss stuff sometimes. However, I just reply if I have something worthwhile to add. I try to avoid me-too posts. I know all of you hope that sometime I’ll acknowledge you from my lofty post as one of the original Mumpers from when our founder, Rue de Day got the ball rolling, but, um, where was this going? Oh, yeah, I don’t feel compelled to react to every post any more than I’d join in every conversation group at a social gathering. And neither should anyone else. So sayeth me! Or is it I?

I have a short list for my morning shop. If the stars align, I should be in and out in 15 minutes max. Here’s hoping! Also hoping the rain holds off till I get home. Tune in tomorrow…

Thanks!

Also, in the photo of Ziva (who’s a lovely girl), my second thought (after “Aww!”) was, “My what an immaculate rug!” I didn’t notice the wrinkle.

Just popping in to say hi. I’m heading back to Maine to visit the folks for T-day. They very nicely got me plane tix, so I gotta get my butt to syracuse on Wednesday. This’ll be my first thanksgiving with the family in 15? maybe 20 years.

Skritches to all the fuzzbutts. Cuties, all.

And late-night final from the Rat’s lair. Did go back to the gym post-Dairy Queen burger and fries (I managed to avoid temptation and not get any dessert stuff) and worked off some of the calories I had added. So of course am snacking a lot now to put them back on but the score will still be in my favor (if i get to bed real soon and don’t walk through the kitchen anymore…). Raining pretty good right now, no thunderbolts or lightning to frighten me, just a decent downpour.

Pilot that’s quite a thing you are doing, if I have the parade on I’ll look for a big green dinosaur.

Your wish has been granted.

Seanette, lily, I haven’t had an A&W Root Beer in a long time; how does the Diet/Zero Sugar taste?

And I believe that as much as I believe the new administration will balance the budget…

nellie, echoing FCM, I respond when something someone types makes me want to respond, sometimes the daily routine is just there to be enjoyed by reading it.

VanGo, hope the flight goes well, I suspect it’ll be crowded at the airports this week so make sure you leave yourself some extra time. Enjoy your family time.

And it’s after 10:30pm so about time to wrap things up and head off to bed. This is the 72nd post for Monday, that’s a pretty good start for the week. Take care all.

Tastes fine to me, not really diet-y. Their Zero Sugar cream soda has good flavor, but goes flat awfully fast. The root beer doesn’t have that problem.

I concur. Not as creamy as non-diet, but it doesn’t scream DIET as a beverage.

I had an appointment this morning to take my cat Atilla to the vet. He was due for rabies and parvo shots. He also got a good going over, with blood test, and some other things. For a cat as old as he is the results were good, his kidneys are still working well, at 17-1.2. The vet did discover a slight heart murmur but he will get pills for that.

It is hard getting him into a carrier. I bring it out the night before so it’s around, and I got him to sit on my lap. Abused his trust by picking him up to stuff him in the carrier and he got away. Took fifteen minutes to get him again, along with a scratch on the hand.

I love all the pictures, I have had two black cats over the years.

My baking will be done on Friday since our family is getting together on Saturday. My sister is hosting and she has her work cut out for her since on Thursday she’s hosting her husband’s family. I am going to ask if she wants the carcass from that bird, as I like to use them to simmer down broth.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

Spot will do the hand scratch thing even if you don’t try to stuff him in a box.

So will Buddy, pretty much at random.

Today is Allie’s 13th adoption anniversary.

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 4c/39f with a predicted high of 7c/45f, and mostly sunny. Weather app says “It’s fucking fine outside, OK? That’s my aggro weather report. What do you fucking think?” Yes, I think that’s about usual…

Hello! Good to see you poking your nose in here again  Sadly we don’t get the parade over here but I’m sure it’ll be a great experience (despite the sudden drop in temperature for you!)

'im indoors is very fond of A&W root beer but only the non-sugar variety. I bought him a couple of cases for hexmas a couple of years ago, managed to locate some in the UK but from an American online store. It was ridiculously expensive, but worth it.

Have a great trip, enjoy the time with your family and give yourself a break from everything else!

He’s made you aware of his displeasure, and the amount of treats he will require later to compensate. Shadow is an old boy (at least 20, we think), he’s quite easy to stuff in a carrier these days which is a good thing because he goes to the vet once a month now for his arthritis shot. He still gets treats every time though, because he’s King Cat.

Happy Gotcha Day!

Yesterday I ended up working extra time as I’d had to make up a bit for taking time out to go to the vets and out to get cat litter. Today may well go the same way as I need to do some grocery shopping (mostly cat supplies and non-perishables) and get petrol so we’re ready to go straight off to Scotland in the morning. After irk yesterday, I did a couple of little jobs and then made spagbol for dinner which also gave me a couple of spare portions for the freezer.

It’s been a busy morning already over here - tended to the cats, sorted out another skip fire, got a bizarre message from the ADHD squirrel, and have booked a couple of meetings for this afternoon. Yesterday one of the Latin lecturers had a proper flap about her assessments. She decided she wasn’t happy with the presentation of the assessment document that students could see so I’ve re-done all of them and now need to have a meeting later with the language co-ordinator to make sure everything is ok. I don’t think there is an issue with the content, just the presentation as she’s a fussy little bugger.

I need to fit in a grocery store trip to stock up on cat food and I need to top up the petrol tank so that I can make it most of the way to Largs without refuelling. I’m aiming for one stop at a service station (either Tebay or Annandale Water, because they have much better food than the others). It’s a 5-6hr drive on a good day, so my plan is to leave after the school run’s done in the morning so we should be in the Lake District by lunchtime. Naturally, something will go wrong and it won’t work out like that, but I’m always optimistic!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 57 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 73 and cloudy. The big item on today’s agenda is laundry. I can hardly contain myself. I shall also begin prep stuff for the makeage of the Turkey Day feast. Sup shall be toasted hoagies and oven fries.

VanGo glad you get to be with family. Hope travels go well.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Hey!! Good to see you! Have fun in NYC and stop by again soon!

Currently Annie is trying to lick my wrist while I type. (Yuck!) This morning I go to school for half a day and try to entertain my students. After that I’ll probably come home and rest and ice my knee because it is being inexplicably pissy today. Otherwise I’ll just be working on getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner.
