(Old) On this day in history in the MMP

We went here.

Holler at me too, since I’m about the same distance down I24.

Was she on sale?

Yup, it’s all fun and games till someone shits their pants.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

Same thing as at the bar.

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 13c/56f with a predicted high of 20c/67f and sunny. Weather app says “It’s somewhere between fucking cold and fucking warm outside”. That’ll do for me!

It’ll be a busy day here, I have scoffed some strawberries and had a cup of tea after doing feline tums and bums. I’ll be leaving for the gym shortly, and back home again in a couple of hours’ time. Then it’ll time for a shower etc, and lunch before we put out extra food, water and kibble for the cats, pack ourselves up and head off to the delights of Chepstow Castle. There are some bands playing at the castle tonight, we’re heading down this afternoon and meeting up with some friends for dinner before going to the castle to sing the night away.

Hopefully the cats won’t destroy the place while we’re gone, and they’ll forgive us for leaving them all alone until we get back tomorrow lunchtime. They won’t starve, they’ll probably sleep most of the time and will barely notice we’ve gone.

Onwards!

Not sure. Maybe, she is a bit leaky. Cute though.

I’m hoping to get the wallpaper scraping in the living room done today. Anyone fancy coming round to help me get the big radiator off?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 94 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. A couple of days ago rain was predicted for today, but not now. We could use the rain, however. Oh, well. I foresee a day of RDOS inactivity as we have nowhere we want or need to be. Quality cee-mint pond time, day drinkin’, and nappage work for me! This shall also be another day of any need to feed bein’ via forage. Lots of sammich makin’s, chips, etc.

FlyBoy the anniversary dinner sounds like a fine feast to me. I like schnitzle. I would not eat it as a wee cub, but it’s sump’n I grew to like in my adultery.

JtC I like red’s suggestion of beans 'n taters. Love that combo and seems most folks will snarf it right down.

Nuts when da cave got a remodel, the first thing that went was all the wallpaper. Yeah, I built the place and did wallpaper, but soon got sick of it. Much happier with just painted walls.

BooFae overnight at a castle sounds like fun!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

The day started with MIL falling in the bathroom and cutting her arm. Because she decided to get dressed in there instead of in a bedroom full of soft surfaces… I don’t know, I just don’t know.

Dragon Boat race today and FCD is all pissy already. He doesn’t want to go but he won’t tell his mother a little fib to get out of it, so this is going to be a jolly morning. I don’t want to go either, but I promised Daughter I’d wrangle the spawn since SIL has to work. Anyway, I foresee an unpleasant day ahead. So there’s that.

It was raining when I awoke, but I think it’s moved out for now. More is predicted for this afternoon. Rah.

My credit union here did something to their website and I can’t access my Mastercard to see the use or pay the bill. I’ll need to call them on Moanday and find out what’s going on. Dammit.

Yeah. Happy Saturday. Blah blah blah. :stuck_out_tongue:

Morning all. Up early since my first soccer game to referee is at 9am and I have to drive about 10-15 minutes to get there. Rain is forecast and looks like it’ll be arriving about 10:30am, so the second and third games on my schedule look questionable. 73F now heading to 90F so even if we play the games may be shortened or added water breaks taken, don’t want the kids to get overheated.

FCM, hope the day goes better than expected (not promising, I grant you, but best wishes anyway). And yeah, my Credit Union website is the toughest of all my banking places to access.

lily, thank you, I do try to keep it up, may cut back some once coaching and refereeing soccer get into full swing (a man’s gotta know his limitations).

boo fae, music at the Castle; I will give Europe that, you have really neat ancient sites for performances. Enjoy.

OK, need to break fast and then get myself organized for soccer refereeing. Take care all.

Unemployed Lotion reporting in.
My church lady brought me another bus pass yesterday that will last 5 weeks.
Also 45 rolls of tp which will likely last me a month and a half. Yes, I go through it like no one else.
May go to library today, maybe they’ll have the new People magazine.
Maybe rain later, they never really know.

Well.
A small restaurant I had applied for as server a while ago called.
Pretty much offered me the job.
I am to come in and fill out employee packet and then they’d be training.
Its like 6 am to 3. Walkable.
When I told him I cannot work Sundays cause I will not give up church, he got iffy and implied I’d get less hours or even might be overlooked for someone with open availability.
But there it is, in God’s hands.

A drizzly good morning to all. Savory oatmeal for breaking the fast, and, at long last, a cup of Ethiopian coffee. Damn, but that’s some good stuff! My pusherImeandealerImeanseller has been out of it for some time now, but I scored a 12oz bag-o-beans this week from Coffee Bros.

Went to hear Lizz Wright at the local jazz club last night. Gal’s got a set of lungs. Blues, mostly, but a good rendition of Neil Young’s “Old Man”. Sadly, my back was killing me for the entire set for some reason. Today will be mostly rest, with a quick trip to the grocery at some point.

Dear Dawter visits tomorrow and will cart off the remaining cat food and some other items. Always good to see her.

Not to be mean, but you make your own luck.

Mornin’ everyone.

It’s 58F and mostly sunny with 81% humidity. We have a marginal chance of severe weather this evening, but rain, hail, and lightning are predicted starting around 7:00 p.m. The expected high temperature is around 80F.

FCM, I’m glad Tobias’ heart murmur doc appointment went well. My daughter had a heart murmur when she was little but outgrew it, I guess. I have to admit, visits to pediatric cardiologists were initially scary. I’m sorry today has started out as crappy. I sure hope things get better. It’s never fun when the hubby is pissy, I know.

My son was supposed to visit today, hang out with us and the pups, and stay the night. However, I received a note from him on Messenger this morning stating he’d been up all night with stomach problems and probably wouldn’t be coming up. Hopefully, some sleep will set him right and he’ll still come up, but I doubt it.

Boofae, the castle visit sounds fun.

I went to the plant nursery yesterday, bought a couple of end-of-season perennials, and then ran down to Lowes to pick up some other items.

Today, I need to get the new plants in pots, run the roll-suck, pick up some dog food, and fuel up the Jeep in anticipation of my return to work on Monday.

I can’t believe vacation is almost over. I really enjoyed practicing being an RDOS. I already know I have a lot to do upon my return because, in looking over my email, I see that my boss asked for extensions on things rather than just taking care of them. That’s frustrating but not unexpected. I also am part of an interview panel on Monday at 2:00 p.m., which messes up my departure time from the office. Oh well, sometimes that’s just the way it is. I expect each day through Thursday will be long because I have many due outs and many things to catch up on.

There is no luck.
You’d be amazed how God has come through for me too many times.

I’ll bet that the reverb is something else there.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, a pot of chicken bone broth on the stove and fixing to do KP. The two big things on the agenda today are picking up a CO2 cartridge for the soda stream and mailing off some cards. A trip to the dog park may happen later, depending on how much rain that we get (it was sprinkling when I walked Nelson this morning).

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Lager wanted snuggles this morning, so no shopping trip. I went to the building convenience store and saw it was raining. Looks like it will be on and off all day.

There are a lot of house things to do. So far I haven’t found the get up and go. I’ve puttered a bit. Perhaps that is today’s mode. Putter.

Fcm, I hope your day improves.

Well rats. I should mow the lawn, but it is raining. Very disappointing.

A schnitzel house that doesn’t have veal doesn’t make sense.

I’m very crabby. It’s sunny which makes me stabby. I’m tired of cleaning Ursala’s litter box. How can she pee SO MUCH? I’m tired of the barn and dealing with Ariel. My ankle aches. I don’t want to do anything.

My mother is from Bavaria and came to the United States after she married my father. I grew up eating schnitzel made with pork. This could have been due to cost or availability, but I prefer the pork over the veal. I grew up eating a lot of German food and can still make it, although it’s been some years since I’ve made sauerbraten. I still make viener or jaeger schnitzel, along with homemade spaetzle (I have a spaetzle press), but it’s been a minute. I can make potato dumplings, bread dumplings, etc. too. Most of the German food I ate growing up and prepared, was made from scratch, although my mother wasn’t above getting some Panni dumpling mix to speed the process up.

Alrighty, time to run the rollsuck.

Home. Daughter’s team, the WaterBAErs won their first heat and came in 2nd in the second heat
That’s when we left. I took the grands to Olive Garden for lunch and now we’re in the basement. They’re playing and I’m doing laundry. Daughter should be here within an hour or so.

Apparently the morning was rough on MIL - she came home and crawled in bed. When laundry is done and kids are gone, I plan some significant chillage.
