(Old) On this day in history in the MMP

Just want to share one of my favorite fabrics from Spoonflower. I’ve got it on some of my dining room chairs.

While walnuts will do, pecans are better.

Happy anniversary flyboy and MrsFlyboy!

Welcome back nut! You’ve been missed.

TGIT! This week has lasted about two years. Oh, well, all the better to enjoy a slothful weekend.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Oooeee!

I loooove spoonflower!

This was our first order, but we’ve been enjoying the fabric porn for about a year.

I’ve been getting peel and stick samples. Soooo many great things.

Whoops.

Mrs. L.A. had plain white rice for dinner. I’m working my way through the freezer. I covered two frozen catfish filets (that one of her patients gave us) with home-made Cajun seasoning/rub, and put them in the toaster oven at 400 Ferrets for 22 minutes. In the meantime, I emptied what was left of a bag of frozen spinach into a pot and added olive oil, minced garlic, kosher salt, and red pepper flakes and heated it up.

Would you remind me if Mrs. L.A. has seen a doctor about this?

Not yet. She’s a nurse. I’m not allowed to make medical suggestions.

I understand how that goes. How long has she had this kind of gastric distress?

Evening all. Soccer has been practiced, was almost late as traffic is approaching insane around 5pm, but got lots of things worked on and the boys seemed to have fun (and actually paid attention now and then…). Have ham-n-cheesed (the pancakes can wait until tomorrow) and now sloth will rule the remainder of the night.

Concur completely, but I do try to make a weekly ‘menu’ for eating and it’s sometime hard to break with what I have ‘programmed’. But pancakes do look good…

Fabrics are not my specialty, but I have to admit those samples look neat.

After 7:30 in the PM so will finish the day’s internettin’ and then retire to continue plowing through last Sunday’s NY Times (hopefully finish before I get the next one). Take care all.

I have no fruit, why do I have fruit flies? I just poured some bleach down the drain. Hope it will do the trick.

I have no fruit, why do I have fruit flies?

If you can understand this koan, you will experience enlightenment.

I’m going to steal this if I ever get the chance.

Home from spawn-wranglin’. FCD told them our new vehicle is a Monster Truck and they love the idea! Kids!

It wasn’t a bad evening, tho both of them pooped their pants - Roxy just waited too long (she hates to stop what she’s doing for something as mundane as a terlit break) and Tobias because that’s what he still does at times. Then getting him to go to bed was a challenge - the terrible 2s in spades! I was glad Daughter and SIL came home early.

MIL has been driving FCD crazy - she still insists she’s going to gain 20 pounds and she’ll need a whole new wardrobe. That despite her weight being between 98 and 101 for the last 3 months. Plus she doesn’t even ingest enough calories to maintain her weight, let alone gain. Most days she doesn’t even eat 1000 calories. I tried to explain that she needs about 1200/day just to exist, but she can’t seem to wrap her head around that. Just one more thing…

Daughter has asked me to come to her house because she takes a different route to Baltimore. I’m just a passenger and the gas tank filler, so whatevs! Oh, and their HHR has been totaled because the repair shop can’t get the parts needed to repair it - they aren’t being made any longer and they’re not inclined to search junk yards to find any. So the car crap continues.

Sometimes I wish I was inclined to drink… :stuck_out_tongue:

And I just got to see one of those weird not really a large mosquito looking things take down a fruit fly.

I think my ac barrier may be bad. Time to start swatting things with my hat.

I now have an experiment going on. Do I have alcoholic fruit flies or not. I’ve got one glass with Vinegar and one with wine, plastic wrap over the top with little holes. If they’re like me, they’d go for the wine. I hope they die either way.

Do they look like this? If so, they’re male mosquitos. Unlike the ladies, they don’t bite, but they are good pollinators.

Feel bad, but don’t feel alone. Medical folks always know what is best for their own health even if they would have referred anyone else to a specialist for those same issues.

Neat fabrics! While I did learn how to use a sewing machine and have one to this day, I’ve never really enjoyed using it. I certainly do admire those who can make wonderful things with one though

:+1:

See, I get that. We plan our meals a week in advance and I pretty much know what we will eat on any given day. If something happens to change that up, it isn’t the end of the world, it just makes me have to pay attention for a few minutes longer than I would like to.

However…I haven’t complained about to hubs about the move and the noise and the lack of all of the things one would think would come with a home. I drank bad coffee and cooked on a hot plate. I scooped GG’s litter box. I worked around only having two plates and washed my clothes at a laundromat. I handwashed pans. No complaints to Hubs or anyone despite a few grumbles here.

Last night I wanted to make cornbread and reached into the cabinet for the baking powder we didn’t have. That was it. I honestly had a mini-melt down over not being able to bake cornbread.

Shame it wasn’t the same for you.

I’ve read your thread about your Ozempic journey and I agree with your PCP that you need to take baby steps when changing the dosage.

I doubt that he would be a better author, but he certainly would have been more popular!

I was also guilty of starting at the A’s and working my way to the Z’s when I started my reading journey.

That’s not great for your septic system.

Pot has fewer calories and makes you not care so much. Booze makes you care too much and won’t help your weight loss efforts.

So we had the last window estimator over today. We have already independently crossed three off the list, tomorrow we will discuss make the final choice. Then we will order the fans and have them installed.

I’ve only got half an ounce of weed left, it looks like I’m going to take a drive to Ohio because I’ll run out of that before all the medical card stuff gets finished.

Tonight we had scotch eggs and cornbread for dinner. Hubs noticed that the bottom of the eggs were lightly over done and that the bottom of the cornbread was crispy so wondered if the oven wasn’t working properly and suggested getting an oven thermometer.

Of course I huffed at him, cornbread should have a crispy crust (the eggs were my fault, I forgot to turn the oven down after the cornbread was done) and I worked hard to achieve that with a silicon baking pan.

I’ve now ordered a cast iron skillet so I can make proper cornbread like a proper hillbilly wemin.

Bella is going back to the vet for a recheck tomorrow and it looks like it is just in time. She just started displaying and trilling at GG again. We had already planned on self paying for her recheck as a donation to the rescue, now we will insist on getting the AMH test done.
