(Old) Pet pics in the MMP

Hello and happy whatever-day-it-is-when-you-read-this.If you’re bored with my floor saga, skip the next paragraph. It’s actually good-ish news, though.

I spent a chunk of today toiling on the floor. Then I remembered reading not to use ammonia on vinyl floors because it can damage them. I decided WTH and used it diluted with some water and dishwashing liquid. With an SOS pad, it worked the best out of all the methods I tried. 99% of the wax is now gone…from the kitchen floor. I have to decide what to do about the hallway, dining area, and bathroom.

Question: now what? I thought I’d buy some Mop-and-Glo because they used to advertise that it cleans as it shines. Turns out A) It’s not in stores and B) it builds up and has to be stripped. I have Bona floor polish, which supposedly comes off without too much trouble with their polish remover. I haven’t decided yet. I think I’m going to leave it as is for now.. I noticed that when wet, it appears darker, so I decided not to stain it, at least not yet, because if I polish it, it should look OK.

I am very tired.

I have no pets, but tomorrow I’ll try to post a photo of a couple of pets I walk or sit for.
Mr. Max is coming tomorrow morning for a couple hours. I don’t think I’ve posted photos of his shorn self yet. He’s so cute!

Oo! I’d love to see a photo of that! All I can think of is John Belushi in the Killer Bees sketches on SNL.

Is the very high HDL the reason your total cholesterol is high? I hope all is well. My total cholesterol was high one time because I was dehydrated. I had a long walk to the lab, and I didn’t want to have to pee en route, so I was dehydrated.

I meant to respond more, but I’m too tired to think straight, and I just realized I never ate dinner.

Let’s see if I get this right.

… and then there should be

But wait!! There’s more!

but oh wait here’s the kicker

ACHTUNG! NOTE !!

NOT MY CAT!

These are the Meezer (Siamese) who is the owner of our lovely @BippityBoppityBoo I’m just posting on her behalf to make her life easier.

You do so much for us, in your night nurse voice.

And completely, utter edgy and entirely owned I am. Not withstanding the fees I paid her breeder. Moxie has papers, I don’t. I’m undocumented.

Thank you shoe for the thoughtful kindness.

Wouldn’t a Mumper pet fest be fun? Dogs and cats and their associated humans and hangers on? Rent a compound of cabins in some forested place. If it had a barn Ariel could come too.

doggio, flyguy and swampy are in charge of libations, of course. Lots of libations. shoe and jane should be our budristas.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

“I wear the pants in this establishment.”

Ziva and Spot would be in charge of hiding under furniture and hissing at people.

My girl in her new chair.

And we can’t talk pets without the infamous, beloved, sorely missed Bubba. :purple_heart:

My most beautiful boy.

I may be scarce for awhile. I finally got all of the IEPs scheduled that I have to write by the end of the month (actually Sept 25). There are SEVEN of them. That’s a crazy ridiculous number for me. For what I was doing before, 7 might have been 1/2 to 2/3 of my caseload that would string along through the year. Nope, 7 and soon. Thank goodness for coworkers that are in the same boat and willing to help bring me along.

In other news, I’ve been shopping for pants in the plus size arena and have been completely underwhelmed. I’ll be the first to admit that it’s mostly because I’m cheap. Couldn’t even find anything interesting in the clearance section of Woman Within. And Torrid, usually one of my favorites, was expensive (as expected) and unfortunately blah.

The handyman should be here today to paint the ramp. Purple. Did I mention that already? Purple!

Ok, MusicMan is up and getting ready for work. See y’all later!

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 14c/57f with a predicted high of 19c/66f and mostly sunny. Weather app says “This is the perfect fucking weather to take on the world, from the comfort of your fucking couch.” Sadly, no chance of that, I’ve got far too much to do today.

We have our supplementary session Board of Examiners meeting on Thursday so I’ve got a load of work to do for that. Mainly just getting results reports through scrutiny and uploaded onto the page where everyone sees them on the day, but I have some issues that need fixing by our Taught Student Admin folks and I haven’t got answers on those yet. Not a massive problem, I just tinker with reports and put notes on them so that the Board approves it all, and I can sort it out afterwards without needing extra steps.

Back to the grind!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 66 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 84 and sunny. Today is laundry day. I can hardly contain myself. I will call the pharmacy when they open to refill a ‘script. When they text me that it’s ready I will pick it up and also make a run to  Wally*World  for some needed supplies since it’s near the pharmacy. After that I will need to fall upon the faintin’ couch to recover. Sup will be grilled chikin boobs, steamed broccoli with cheeze sauce, wild rice (we like our rice untamed and free spirited) and rolls. Kinda borin’ but it’ll feed.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I must purtify as I will be amongst the great unwashed at some point. Fortunately a tshirt, and shorts will suffice for where I am headed.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Mornin’ all - About 0630 here. Skies slowly lightening and for the first time in days it wasn’t raining overnight nor out over the ocean, so the stars and planets were visible when I got up and sunrise ought to be pretty. Overnight was a brisk 75/24 and the high should be a pleasant 91/33.

This going to bed early, eating & drinking less, & sleeping well thing is kinda nice. I ought to do it more often. Now I just need a way for that to satisfy mind and soul as well as body.

First up is early breakfast out. Then hit the dermo to have him look at, and zap again, a plantar wart I’ve been battling for 9 months. He froze about 95% off last time, but some roots remain undead. I bet this go-around will finish it off. Fortunately it isn’t uncomfortable; just mildly annoying at times.

Next up is quarterly well-baby visit. And some really great hugs. Ought to be done enough before noon that lunch places won’t yet be busy. I’m dressing warm (read “long pants & long sleeves”) because doctor’s offices are iceboxes. So lunch indoors sounds good too. Decisions decisions.

GF did get home last night, net of some ground transportation follies. She’ll probably sleep 12 hours last night and tonight. It’s much easier to communicate without a large time zone difference.

It’s good to hear dear shoe emerging from her funk.

Not much more to to say.

Cheers and a happy Toosday to all!

We’d need an under-bed pet-cam for anyone to see Ziva. And Spot too??

I’m about to concede on the dog front. I still don’t want one, but it doesn’t seem right to deny FCD something that’s apparently this important to him. And he will have some of his inheritance left after the boat work is done. I know his mom would want him to have a dog - they were of like mind regarding pets. I just need to train him to take care of his own dog.

And a biggie is no more feeding the dog scraps at the dinner table. In fact, no more feeding the dog any people food. I never did break his mom of that - she was always giving stuff to Higgs. I’m just hoping he’ll listen about waiting till the major bits of boat work are done, else the pup could end up spending many hours locked in a crate. We will talk tonight.

Today is pellet delivery day. The garage is ready, so I guess I am. Last time, they placed them exactly where I wanted them, and even took off the 3 layers of plastic and carted it away. And we’ll be ready for winter, which means having the pellets should guarantee to be a mild one, right?

The real chore will be cleaning the carpet in this here room where I sit, which is the last of the 3 carpeted public areas (as in, not bedrooms.) I need to empty it of as much as I can, which is the laborious part. Running the cleaner is just like heavy-duty roll-suckage. Then I just leave the fan running on it all day.

Lesser chore will be taking the recycling to the convenience center followed by a dash to CVS for some of FCD’s meds. I wish we could get them all in sync, but it’s not like it’s a major journey to Leonardtown. Goodness knows we go there or thru there often enough.

And if all that gets done in good time, I might even pull some more weeds.

So yay - Happy Tuesday!

Morning all. Bladder let me sleep until 6:30am this morning, so pretty well-rested for the day ahead. Primary activity will be getting my COVID shot (I hope) at Kroger about 9:30am, they say on the website that they have the vaccine and hopefully the paperwork is straightened out so it won’t cost, and I’ll have my big-3 shots for the year done. Then maybe a little more gym time and some house-irk before getting back to some serious slothing. It’s 65F now but heading to 85F this afternoon so not in a rush to do much outside.

shoe, thanks for adding BBBoo’s pictures, albeit this first thing I though was ‘did she drop Monkey in a tub of bleach?’ But lovely pics, BBBoo’

nellie, I really need to pay more attention to my floors, just too lazy and it’ll cost me when I’m ready to move to an apartment in 3-4 years.

Cupcakes, thanks for sharing canine memories and current life. Good luck with the projects and stop in when you can; we’ll be here.

:musical_notes: All I want is see you
walking on the purple ramp…

boo fae, I have a couple of reports to finish for soccer and send to the main center, been futzing around and need to git’er done. Thanks for the reminded (you too, Sticky Buns)

swampy, happy Wal-Marting

Don’t be talking that crazy talk now…

And hope the medical trips are routine.

FCM, hope the pallets with the pellets are put where you want and unwrapped. And concede on the dog, but not on the size of the beast!

And that’s the morning in N. Ali-bama. Have a good one all

I take pictures with my iPhone, and they are automatically stored on iCloud. I go to iCloud to download the HEIC-format picture(s). Then I open the pic(s) in Preview and export them as .jpeg.

That’s what I’m guessing. I’ll find out in a couple of days.

Never heard of them, but according to their website the Buck-and-a-quarter Tree next door to Aldi carries them. I like the cheeseburgers and other cheap sandwiches they sell, so next time I’m there I’ll look for Lily’s.

Speaking of Lily, here she is with her brother Jiji:

We lost him about a year ago (the picture was taken in November 2022), but she’s lying here right next to me.

In my experience they are indeed red.

I’ve lived with cats over half my life, and I never noticed them with boxes until the last few years. That “the cat traps worked” meme that was going around a while back had me puzzled when I first saw it.

Have you tried the thrift store? I find decent jeans and khakis there all of the time in plus size. A lot of times, you’ll find a whole mess of the same brand and size donated by someone who has changed sizes and cleaned out the closet.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP. After, I’ll shevel before Sis and BIL get here to set up the W/D. I have a two o’clock appointment to get the offending tooth yanked today, so it’s soup for supper tonight.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Good morning.

It’s 62°F, cloudy, and damp. Most of the clouds are expected to give way, allowing for partly sunny skies in the afternoon, with a daytime high of 76°F.

I’m sorry your floors continue to be such a chore, Nellie.

JtC, yes, I’ve done the photo download that way before; it’s clunky for sure. Also, if I’m going to save photos to my desktop, I want the resolution to be better than JPEG. I dunno, I need to do more research.

The MumpPets are absolutely adorable.

Well, life continues to be boring, and I still don’t have a resolution on the missing comp time hours. I sent a follow-up email yesterday and was asked to be patient. It’s been a week, and it’s not that hard to figure out. Someone pressed the wrong button, and they need to restore the hours by pressing another button.

I’m down to two six packs of TP, which is a travesty. Now I need to decide whether to get Costco delivery or go in person. I should probably go in person.

Johnny, I sure hope the high cholesterol thing is an easy fix.

Red, I hope the tooth extraction goes easily.

My son’s upstairs neighbor’s bathroom flooded, and the water poured right down into my son’s bathroom. This is not the first time this has happened. He was going to pack some stuff up and come up here, but they told him they had it all in hand. Around noon, he sent a picture of the drywall removed from the upper part of his tub/shower, but I never heard if they actually got everything fixed. I imagine they’d have to leave stuff exposed to dry out, and since that’s his only bathroom, I’m not sure if he even has running water in there. I guess he must if he didn’t come up here. Or, who knows, maybe they put him up in a hotel room. I guess he’ll let me or my husband know eventually.

Well, I suppose I should get my day started. I’m nearly done with my second cup of coffee, so that means I should start doing something. Take care of yourselves, please.

.

Sadie in her newest hidey hole. This is the first level of her cat tree, which we threw a blanket over at some point in the past. She loves it in there.

We were supposed to go pick apples at a farm with the niece today, but the wife’s dizziness has returned. So we once again cancel an outing. It’s becoming the norm instead of the exception, which is worrisome.

We have a few cases of covid in the building at the moment, so we’re avoiding in-house contact. Not that we normally have much contact as it is. I always sit at the back of the room for exercise so I don’t have ten people breathing on me, and we never eat in the dining room area. Also, we’re on the 3rd floor, so using the stairs are always an alternative to the elevator.

Awwwwww, adorable. Those ears, those eyes,

Pellets are tucked in the corner where I wanted them, leaving space for recycling that awaits transport. Carpet has been cleaned and is drying. Trash and recycling has been dispatched. FCD’s meds have been picked up. Lunch has been ingested. I need to empty the dishwasher and take a couple of lounge chairs downstairs. Then, dunno. Oh, and I pulled a hunk of meat out of the freezer - it will be sous-vided for supper.

I hope the carpet will dry by this evening - the living room is a disaster full of furniture that lives elsewhere. It’s a low-humidity day and between the ceiling fan and the oscillating fan, maybe we can move things back right after supper.

Regarding apples - my current fave is Gala with peanut butter. That’s my evening snack most days. I gave up on red delicious ages ago, opting mostly for gala or fuji. I tried honeycrisp, but wasn’t impressed. I may go see what the local apples are like.

OK, more chores await. Rah.
