(Old) Pet pics in the MMP

I finished off the parsley sauce this morning, on top of a ‘fluffy omelette’ (scrambled eggs with the edges pushed all around in to the middle while they cook, and then flipped at the end). I also had a sausage patty. I’m thinking I’ll have steel-cut (Irish) oats with salt and a tablespoon of heavy cream tomorrow.

So I was loading Middle Green on the 100 today. So of course I got pulled to help someone else right when my big wave hit. Time for a nap. Spot is halfway there:

That’s good.

Good luck on that, I always get stuck with pet duty. Sometimes because of roomate sloth, sometimes by pet choice.

Double mini panthers.

Oh you want pet pics? This one’ll put hair on your chest. To recap - I work in dog daycare and boarding. This was my morning on Sunday (two-clicks, because, you’ll see (poopiness)).

Summary

Pippa's Poopies | M Slowik | Flickr

Poor dog was not well overnight and most of the morning and I ended up paying extra attention to her and gave her bath to clean up all the mess … the poor pup.

Doggy daycare is fun.

You have a hand chair! I wanted one when I was in kollege.

(I also wanted a papazan, and I have that now.)

I approve.

OK, that amused me.

Preach.

Heh. I like that.

Whelp { slaps thighs in Midwestern } time to get a move on.

… not really, imma laze in bed with my personal mini panther for a bit more. Maybe kill some zombies. Then off to get Sprinkles and work open → close.

My sentiments ezzactly.

We were looking at the pictures, and wondering if it was a celestial object or something on the lens. Since there’s movement on one of the pictures, it’s an object, and it must be Saturn, considering Saturn rises at 8:20 pm.

And then I went here and plugged in the date and timeand confirmed that it is Saturn in the picture.

Venus is currently hanging out with the sun, so it’s opposite the moon. So it’s not Venus. And you’re not stupid. :winking_face_with_tongue:

And now I remember what I didn’t get. No butter pecan. :frowning: Guess I’ll have to go back sometime.

Thank you shoe and BBBoo for sharing Moxie pictures.

:star_struck:
Gardener came and move the white rose, the peony and put in a new planting bed. So now I need to plant some sort of winter cover - supposedly Austrian peas or clover or winter rye are all possible. Winter rye sounds interesting, but I have to see what seeds I can find on Saturday.

Weather’s changing a lot. This morning it poured, then it was sunny for most of the day and now it looks like it’s going to pour again. Seems like a good evening to hold down the couch.

Afternoon all. COVID shot went off without a hitch, soup and sammiches have been consumed and I am ready to head off to the gym once this missive is delivered. Temperature is up to a balmy 79F but if it gets much warmer the AC will be put back to work. Not much else to report, been a quiet day round these parts (I know, I know, tempting Murphy is never a good idea) but have taken on-board about 1600 calories already today so need to burn at least some of them off, and doing house-irk does not appeal to me (really need to check about cleaning services in the area).

Herald, nice pic, are to tell where one stops and the other begins.

Truth, but I was raised with them so they are what I know…but I do get the Gala or Cosmic Crisp versions now, the Honeycrisp is a bit pricey.

Taters. keep after them on the comp hours. You earned them and deserve them! And sorry to hear about son’s flood, hopefully management will do the right thing (HA!) and make sure he has the necessities (and again, HA!).

Cookie, looks like a perfect feline hiding place, and you’re invading it! The look she’s giving you…I check my shoes before putting them on for awhile…

FCM, sounds like a successful day so far.

J-Bats, hope the poor pup is feeling better.

And time to get sweaty (and pay $25/month to do so). Back sooner or later.

I think something in the HVAC here is suddenly not agreeing with me: all month, whenever I’m at my desk my eyes are slightly watery and my nose is slightly runny (and I’m fine as soon as I leave the building). The vent is directly above me and the air blows on me, which normally I don’t mind because I tend to run warm – I haven’t needed to turn on my USB fan once since moving to this desk! yay! – but I wonder if something got in the ducts. I figure we’re about a month away from the system being switched over to heat: for now I can deal with it 3 days/week (I’ll go to as many meeting as I can!), and I’ll see if it still bothers me when the air is warm vs cold. If so, I’ll ask facilities if they can redirect the air flow.

Similar to JBats’ Sunday adventure, when I opened the front door upon getting home from work yesterday I could immediately smell what awaited me. The living room was clear, but when I went down the hall I saw it: Bailey’d had a big accident, and it was all over her dog bed (which she was sleeping on), all over her tail/butt/legs (plus a bit on the top of her head! how…?!?), on some of the bath mats (which she sometimes sleeps on), and on various parts of the floor (because she’d stepped in it). It took over an hour to clean everything up and get the laundry started, including having to put an unhappy doggy in the shower for the first time since she was a puppy (flushable wipes were not getting the job done). That was…an adventure.

She didn’t poop again last night or this morning before I left for work, so I’ll be heading home at around 4:00 just in case I have to undertake another big cleanup before my ex arrives at 6:30.

I think I already mentioned discovering that my boss’s birthday (this coming Saturday) is only 8 days before mine: I just learned that three of the people who sit in my row also have birthdays this month! One is today, another is also this Saturday, and the third is 3 days before mine. This is the most fellow Virgos I’ve ever worked around! LOL!

Yay! :crossed_fingers:

Your stuff always looks like it could be on display in a stationery shop…and it definitely wouldn’t be cheap.

Are there any Kohl’s stores near you?

Indeed. Didn’t she see a doctor about it once, not long ago? I don’t remember…nor, if so, do I remember what they said.

Hey y’all …

Suitably fortified with an early morning Italian-themed fritatta and grits, I survived my wart freezing in good form. Damned wart.

Then after a short break visited the PCP. All’s well in her department, and once again she says less eating, drinking, and smoking plus more  :rabbit: is the key to getting both health and good morale. Shucks, with GF gone, no wonder I’ve been doing it wrong. We fix.

Doc gave me homework consisting of several appointments to make. Uggh. But in a very unaccustomed burst of adultlike productivity (Thanks for your ongoing inspiration there shoe; you’re my mentor) now they’re all set and the first is my COVID vax shortly before dinner tonight. Unless it’s pouring then I’ll do like I did with flu shot last week and walk to the CVS, get shot, then go assuage my pains & sorrows at a nearby (not-as-much) Happy Hour.

Tomorrow morning I come back to the same dermo for an excision above my R eyebrow. Might even eat pre-surgery breakfast at the same place. Post surgery I’ll have half my forehead covered in a mongo bandage. Then no showering for 2 days. Mild inconvenience. Brainstorm! If I wear GF’s shower cap pulled down over one eye and ear I can keep that half of my face / head dry & still see with the other half of my face. Yaay me! Having girls’ crap beauty accessories around the house can be handy at times.

Cookie: good luck w wife’s dizziness.

@Taters: at the condo we had a lot of that occur. Whether plumbing leaks or incompetent forgetful residents. The basic program is cut out all the ruined drywall in the bathroom(s) below for however many floors necessary , fix the source of the leak, leave all the walls open to dry, then then after a week-ish, come back in and install new drywall.

Good bet he’s got water supply and drain.

Cause until now, I didn’t even know that was a thing. I will put it on my list of things to do when I feel like braining, thank you.

Is he? I thought Nelson still outweighed him, GG has topped out at 22 lbs. But yes, he is much fluffier, plus he sprawls. He will start out all neat and tucked in, but 15 minutes later, he’s on his back with his tail hanging out.

Caramelized onions taste much different than grilled onions. They are softer and sweeter. I’m sure this won’t make a difference, I just thought I should point it out.

We had decent results with Bona and our laminate, but it doesn’t clean well. We had to start with an already clean floor to get the best results.

I think you need a bunch of washing machine safe rugs. You are a professional pet-sitter, you need something easy to clean but also durable. I like our rugables, but the corners roll up sometimes.

Oh, I recognized the beloved Moxie right away. She is adorable, thank for helping to share her beauty with the world!

She certainly does look comfy! Bubba was such a handsome guy.

Please post pics of your purple ramp and know that I am jealous. Hubs would complain about something like that every time he saw it. Or thought about it.

They both were very beautiful as only black cats can be.

We’ve always had a cat box on the floor and it usually had a cat on it. VBC had her favorite box that came with us when we moved house with her. George lived with her for the first couple of years of his life but he never took to boxes. Jolene sleeps with/on George, so she doesn’t sit in boxes either.

She does like her baskets, though.

That stinks. I hope they get everything fixed quickly.

It’s nice and warm and private. GG likes sleeping under their throw covered loveseat. We call it his fortress of solitude.

I’m sorry about your wife getting dizzy again. I do hope they can find the cause and do something to treat it soon.

Poor lil girl, that’s gotta be so upsetting when that happens. Poor you too!

Thank you

Poor girl.

Indeed. “Comfy” is what we have here right now – 20°C (68° 'Murrican) expected to rise to 22°C (72° 'Murrican) later today. If the forecast was for 91/33, we’d be issuing heat warnings and announcing the opening of cooling shelters.

I was admiring our full moon last night and saw something bright to its left.

Thank you for the celestial education!

OK ferrealz now, I gotta get this snuggle-butt offa me, yank on some clean clothes, and get my own butt going. (Gawdz, he is glued to my kneecap. Of all the comfy options … )

From Teela’s inadvertant post today in last week’s thread …

Ouch for hubby. I got my flu vax on Sat with no ill effects. My COVID is later today. Here’s hoping for no ill effects again.

As to your CVS and your COVID vax, I’d call or stop by to ask for details. Here in FL the vax is available with a doctor’s scrip, but not just for the asking. The CVS website when I set my appointment did not mention that at all, and had I not known from a previous in-person asking, I’d have shown up at my appt & been turned away.

There’s lots of reasons to be more optimistic in CA than FL. OTOH, I bet a lot more CA residents are rushing to get it, so supplies might be low.

Dishwasher has been emptied. We put grates over the pit by the culvert and lined them/l9cked them in place with a bunch of rocks that used to define a garden. No more worries about falls.

Some artistic soul of minimal talent drew a dick-like representation on the road in front of our house. Dunno if it’s directed at us (we’ve had no interaction with anyone around here) or they were too cowardly to draw in front of their own house. I kinda suspect the kids next door for no reason except I see them on their bikes on the road a lot. Kids….

We’ve been discussing canine acquisition, both type and timing as well as my total disinclination to be primary carer and having to be the constant reminder/nagger. Still no set timeliness or even breed. To be continued.

It’s weird. The first thing that hits you is, oh no, is the dog alright?.. and you just get focused. I had to open the place too, which means getting all the other dogs out of their crates to poop and pee and to feed them afterward all while quarantining the sick pup and then kicking into cleaning mode. Then you go to lunch later in the day and sit there and go, “holy shit, what the hell did I get myself into?”

But, yeah, everything’s good now. The pup is better. She’s been boarding for a while while the owner are abroad, so she’s stressed out.

Sadly, no pets or picks.
Things are good this week. Got hired. I cannot access workstream on my phone or the library so shes having to come in tomorrow to onboard my documents there.
75+ all week but I wont be happy til they turn the heat on. It is too cold in my apt.
Asked Church Guy ( not from my church) for help with my phone. He gave me 60!
My phone is 35 for 5gb.
Once I start my job I can upgrade to unlimited internet on phone for 55 a month.
I have been in extreme poverty my entire life, its my fate, so 60 is a Lot!
He also got me a 12 pack of tp, which will last me 12 days.
I got some panty liners from the church handout basket but they seem to be small enough for Barbie.
A man must’ve made those.
Going to the Y every day.

Oops, forgot. Awhile back I was telling a guy on the bus I know to get my a Dunkin card.
So this old guy on the bus actually heard that and got me one.
It seems he wanted to again but messed up and got me Starbucks cards. He gave me them today so I can have some food there as the coffee sucks.

We also still have their sister Eraser, who was almost impossible to distinguish from Jiji – mainly accomplished because she was the only one of the three who would wear a collar.

And here are Chihiro and her brothers. Susu (left) and Chihiro (right) are littermates; Nandi (top) is around six months older, from their mother’s previous litter. Picture was taken 31 Oct 23, when Nandi was just over a year old. They’e now all right around 14-15 pounds each.

Lunch was two packets of raspberry & peach instant oatmeal. Today’s our anniversary (32nd), so we’re going out to dinner here. Trying to decide between a Cubano (which I had the first time we went there) and a Monte Cristo.

Did my tuna-half walk. I averaged 2.9 mph. Still not up to 3 mph, but it’s better than 2.8.

I’ve been trying to remember to take psyllium husks since my colonoscopy. I don’t remember every day. I’ll have a glass in a little bit. I don’t know what I’ll have for lunch. I think there’s some salami I sliced up the other day…

It’s warm enough to open all the windows today.

This Saturday, we’re having some favorite relatives from Maryland come over for dinner and gabfest. Mrs. Nott has already gone into having-company pre-anxiety. We’ve gotten somewhat better at this, though. I can remember when we’d scurry around throwing miscellaneous stuff into a box, and not sort out the panic box until months later.

We have no pets. I miss having them, but we decided that Layla would be our final dog. Her last few months were awful for us, and it couldn’t have been good for her either. I started to tell you about it, but it hurts to bring it back.

I got a new T-shirt.

That’s a big duh to me. Didn’t even think of that. Duh. Thank you! It’s especially funny considering how many clothes I’ve donated to thrift stores in the past year.

Actually, we have two now because my mother loves me. It’s the most comfortable chair for Annie to sit in independently, especially while I’m working. And it was cumbersome to drag the original one across the floor twice a day. So, she bought me one! I used to have a papasan, but we ended up giving it away.

There is a Kohl’s store, actually. I honestly never think to shop in ‘regular’ stores because for the last several years I couldn’t fit in their clothes, but I can now. Good idea!

FCM, I concur on the no people food. That was a big deal with Bubba’s health considering that my grandparents fed him whatever they were eating. But I’m sure I’ve beaten that proverbial horse to death around here before.

JtC, I will certainly take a picture. He’s only just started, but it’s the perfect shade of purple if I do say so myself.

It’s been super busy today and I’m going to chill for another half an hour or so then start again. It wouldn’t be so bad if I could get some damn sleep. Ah well, this too shall pass. Laterz!
