(Old) Pet pics in the MMP

Beach Cat Brewing Co does not serve food. The Beach Bar is next door, and they have a rotating menu of trailers in their parking area. On my walk today, I noticed the trailer was for Little Mambo Pizza Co. I’ve never heard of them. I don’t feel like cooking. I don’t need the carbs. But I had to. You can get pizza by the slice, or the whole (18-inch) pie. It’s too big for our pizza pan, but waddya gonna do? It’s in the oven keeping warm. I also got The Missus a tiramisu, that the guy said he makes from scratch using his grandmother’s recipe.

The pizza guy liked my T-shirt.

Hooray for jobs, girlfriends, new clothes, and pet pix, and sorry for leaking dogs, upstairs plumbing, and selves.

The house is very clean for my lovely wife’s return in the wee hours. I’ll call it 90%, but that’s pretty good. The guest room and bathroom are re-set, our bedroom and bathroom are clean, the fridge has been cleared of nacent horror, the compost and trash are out, the kitchen is wiped down, the kithen sink is empty, Ruby the Roomba has vaccumed downstairs, the mail is sorted by order of importance, the bills I can pay are paid, all bedding, towels, and laundry are clean. I didn’t mop, vacuum upstairs (which happened two weeks ago), or wipe the fridge shelves. I watered the vegetables and checked for harvest (only a few cherry tomatoes today, but we have a new flush of roses and if the mild weather persists, it looks like we might actually get peppers and a second round of rhododendron and lilac blossoms. I caught up on almost all of my correspondence. I fired the incompetent PA who has left a crater on my scalp by requesting to transfer to an MD in the same practice.

Still to come: A trip to REI with a backpack I’m having trouble adjusting, a stop at the grocery, another effort to schedule a flu shot, and work on my novel. This RDOS business is tiring.

Got my Moderna-brand COVID vax: no muss no fuss negligible waiting. Can recommend. Arm was noticeably sore for maybe 30 minutes. Now 2+ hours later I can feel it like I banged into something, but it’s not hurting. No other symptoms. Yet.

Then a deliberately light, carb-lite, and drink lite meal nearby. Now home and trying to stay warm. The first thing I notice when I aggressively reduce calories is I’m chilled through even in 80+ degree settings. My personal furnace is evidently not efficient; not at all. I have plenty of ambition, etc.; just no heat.

@susan: Wow; just wow. That is an enormous body of work; I’m sure lovely wife will be suitably impressed. You’re right to be tired after all that.

Great shirt there flyboy!

Happy Anniversary there @SCAdian. 32’s a worthy accomplishment not many can claim.

Howdy Y’all! I accomplished none of the things I said I would. Can’t get the script filled until next week. That was my bad, cause sometimes I don’t read for comprehension. Since I couldn’t do that, I didn’t go to :astonished_face:Wally*World  cause I didn’t want to. I need to however and just might suck it up and go tomorrow. Sup got fixed and et, so there’s one thing that happened.

Herald Happy anniversary!

Dinner tonight was a very meaty pork chop, seared and roasted, homemade apple sauce, corn OTC, and seasoned rice. I only mention this because we normally don’t have a formal dinner. Or at least I don’t.

Had a brief nap this afternoon, which I don’t usually do, but I’m feeling very tired of late. I blame all the bad news coming from the east. I think I need a news holiday or three. . .or 30.

Sadie came out of her newest hideout and is now taking up most of the ottoman.

I found two of my old paintings behind the couch, both of which were probably the last ones I ever did back in the 90s. I like both of them and after all this time I can see that my technique had improved some. Like happens with many folks, I put that hobby aside and never took it up again. One of my kids has expressed an interest in having them.

I ‘never’ buy things off of Facebook, but I couldn’t resist.

In another 3-4 weeks, it will be Braeburn season. Yum!

:blushes: Thank you! It keeps me out of the bar. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nelson usually weighs in at ~18#, so GG is bigger than he is.

If you have an android, go into your gallery > choose photo > tap the < thingy with the dot at the end of all of the legs > choose where you want to send it (email, FB and other options are also available) > choose Flickr > follow the prompts. Flickr should have your phone info. Easy peasy!

I hope that your son isn’t too inconvenienced, taters.

The offending tooth has been yanked, the new printer hooked up, the washer and dryer ensconced into their custom nook. Now that supper’s over, I’m going to do a load to make sure that they work ok before pitching the boxes. Once all of the boxes are outta here (Sis is going to help me finish that up tomorrow before we grocery shop), the old desk is gone and the rest of the pics and other stuff hung on walls, I’ll start shopping for an easy chair.

Thursday, I’ll put the over-tank shelving together, then I can move the towels and washcloths from the linen closet and into the bathroom.

Off to start some laundry!

Happy Choose-Day! I had Sir Max-a-Lot 2.5 hours. We walked. Then we played fetch. Then he got a doggy massage. Then he tried to lick my face off. (Max: It’s exfoliating.)

I’m not working on floors today. My place is hasn’t been cleaned in over a week because of my floor fixation, and I can’t stand it any more. I’m also cleaning my dishwasher.

I’m sure loving all these pet photos. My, don’t you all have beautiful pets with expressive faces! I’m going to post two of pets I know. (They don’t have to be OUR pets, right?)

That’s the kitty I was cat-sitting last week. I don’t know why he looks mean. He’s actually a sweetie, and except for a penchant for untying my shoes, a Very Good Cat.

And that’s little Max. He’s the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He had to get his fur, including his long, wavy 'do, shaved due to matting. His person brushes him daily with a Furminator, but he’s insanely prone to them. .

Ahem! That’s MY job!

Sticky, good luck on all those IEPs! I never had to write them, but my sister the special ed teacher, still has nightmares about them, mostly that they’re due NOW and she doesn’t have them done. I guess it’s a sped teacher’s version of the “I walked into a class I didn’t know I had, and they were taking the final!” dream, eh?

Waves at BooFae, just because.

Ah, the infamous zombie wart.

This was my rule. The exception was when I dropped a raw egg, then the dogs could Hoover it up. Of course, the lab also scarfed down any food left unattended for 3 seconds.

I’m excited about your future dog!

Ugh! Poor baby. Good on you for bathing her! (May I please skip the hair on the chest?)

Oopsie, I’m sorry for poor, dear Bailey and just as sorry for you . Nobody likes that job. And hey, your birthday must be the day after mine (9/20)!! :slightly_smiling_face:

I figured. You won’t find a cleaner kitchen floor than mine right now. Even the germs are clean!

Well, the living room and bedrooms are carpeted, and I have a big rug in the dining area. My only hesitation about putting one in the kitchen is liquid messes.

What a great Mom! Tell her I said Hi.

Linky please.

Awwwww!

Back when we had two identical mini panthers, I could always tell the difference by their fur. One of them had courser fur than the other one. I do love black cats.

:people_hugging:

Have you ever considered edibles? They put me right out, which is why I don’t use them. I wanna stay awake to enjoy the high.

You are a super good husband. No wonder she loves you so much.

Holy cow! That much productivity will get your RDOS card pulled in short time.

I have to admit that I was also surprised about how busy I was after I retired. I envisioned spending my days reading, stitching and playing in my garden. WRONG! I suddenly had so many “important” things to deal with that it took months to catch up on my sleep.

I’m still looking for a pharmacy that has the new juice locally. I’m not in crowded areas nearly as often as you and some of the working folk, but I’m still a Novid and am kinda proud of that. Plus I’m concerned about the current administration letting the brain worm guy ban them altogether.

I get cold when I’m hungry as well.

Oh. Well then, my cat could eat your dawg fer breakfast, nerny nerny boo boo!

Seriously, I did think that Nelson outweighed GG because Nelson looks so solid and I know that GG is mostly foof.

SWEET! Thank you so much!!!

Dang about the tooth yanking, I hope you don’t bleed on your pillow tonight.

They both are super cute!

That’s actually why I have runners in our kitchen. If/when we spill, the rug is easier to clean than the floor. We just toss it in the washer and then wipe up any liquid that managed to get through the rug. Mostly nothing gets to the tile cause we just roll the rugs up right away.

So not much happened here today, we do try to keep our RDOS card updated.

I moved to the dining room for stitching because they were doing things on the train tracks. Coal trains run full twice a day and then go back empty twice a day. They were very annoying before we got the windows and insulation done, now the floors only vibrate about as much as our washer does in spin cycle. (I have been known to time things and open the bedroom windows while we were making whoopy, the noise and vibrations add a little something.)

Before moving a block away from a train track, I had no idea how much maintenance was involved with them. They have very expensive looking machines that run along the tracks and straighten the rails, reset the ties and oil the tracks. They have other machines that vacuum the coal off the tracks and resets the rocks on the sides of the tracks.

This is such a different world than I lived in before. It is beautiful and interesting and I’m totally loving it.

Yesterday I stopped at a produce stand and saw some jalapenos, so put them in a pile with some tomatoes I wanted. One of the workers was horrified. I shouldn’t touch those peppers with my hands, they are too hot. Putting them next to the tomatoes will make the tomatoes hot. As I was walking back to my car, I could hear her fussing about how hot the peppers were, so I was really excited.

I made Mexican tonight and of course sliced a pepper and then washed my hands with Dawn. Hubs and I both thought “bless her heart” as we were piling them on our food. I finished cooking and washed my hands before plating our dinner. We ate, discussed the train tracks, cleared up and I washed my hands because I was going to stitch.

Then I touched my eye. HOLY COW!!! Now I know why she was so scared of the peppers.

Evening all. Spent more time at the gym than expected, but it made the post-dinner applesauce and mini-apple pie fit in the schedule just fine. Even was motivated to do some yard work, some tree(?) /plant (?) ivy-like concoction had covered a good section of my backyard fence, so I spent some time pulling it off and out of the ground then bagging it up and out to the curb. No idea what it was, it had tiny purple-blue berries on it but I can’t be bothered to look it up. Then managed to spill my bowl of mac-n-cheese all over the tile floor so got another small workout cleaning that up. But am now fed and hydrated and ready for the rest of the evening. Temperature is down to 75F so windows will be re-opening in a couple of hours.

Scroll, scroll, scroll the Dope…

Oopsie, just me, but might ask facilities to check it now, you never know if there’s a major problem brewing…just MHO. And feel bad for Bailey, but the cleaning job could not have been fun for you or her.

Pilot. got my COVID shot this morning, no problems or waiting for it. And good idea on the shower cap.

JtC, never been much for onions of any type, can handle them now and then on a Big Mac or in a salad, but not in a slathering horde…and hope the eye is feeling better, never discount a fussy produce seller.

Lucky, like Pilot, got my flu/pnuemonia vax last week and COVID today, outside of a little sore arms, no reaction. Hope hubby is doing better.

FCM, I’d bet on the kids, it sounds like something they’d think was hilarious…

J-Bats, glad the pup is feeling better, hope the owners come back soon.

Coppertone, my best hopes and wishes for you. And you have some nice folks looking out for you.

Herald, quite the feline cuddle there. Thanks for sharing.

flyboy, did a whole hour on the treadmill, abut 3.5 miles with a 8-9 degree elevation, wore me down some it did. And like the t-shirt.

Sticky Buns, another vote for Kohl’s, since JC Penney finally went bust here, they have been my primary clothes provider.

lily, I do, really, try and pick up after myself, but I doubt that it is at 90% in any category…probably closer to 75%. Sounds like a productive day.

cookie, for all the exercise I do, you’d think I’d be taking naps more often, but they have actually decreased; don’t know if that because of or in spite of my activity. And nice news on finding your old paintings. I have one hanging around here that was done by one of my Dad’s uncles sometime in the 1920’s; nothing special, but it keeps me in touch with my younger days.

red, sounds like an eventful day. but you’re obviously getting settled in nicely.

nellie, lovely pics of some of your friends.

And that’s all for now. Maybe back late and maybe not, either way will see you come Hump Day.

Link to buy shirt, not pic. I’m sorry, I was unclear.

I got it from the terrificfeminist FB page. I can’t find it. But I did find this page searching on “fuck trump” “skeleton” “t-shirt”:

[The shirt from terrificfemninst was shipped from Portugal.]

Edit: Here’s a Google Images search.

Well, that was a bust. I attempted to run a wash cycle with no clothes. I figured out the controls, but the sink connections weren’t working out. When Sis gets here tomorrow, we’ll figure it out together. She help’s me with the mechanical type stuff and I help her with electronics.

Did I mention I cleaned the screens on all of the sinks where I could unscrew them?

Had a backpack fitting at REI (I can return the pack until tomorrow), stopped at Whole Foods for the organic blueberries my lovely wife wants, and at the post office, picked up the Nathan Pyle Kickstarter that’s only a year overdue. My lovely wife’s second flight is delayed, but she should still make her third flight. Now, back to the novel for the 4 hours between now and when, in theory, I meet her flight.

Me: naps
Spot, from under the bed: “Mwahahahaha
Me: Not sleeping any more tonight.
So I’ve beeen up for a while, had a Manhattan, and some redneck Stirfry.

Poor Pippa. and poor you having to clean it.

 It must be awful, if a meeting sounds good in comparison.

Nice!

Believe it or not, I’ve had a lot worse. I’ve said before, I can handle poop messes and smells but the drool and vomit get to me every time.

What a description!

I truly hope this one works out for you.

Oh, boy, have I had those.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 14c/56f with a predicted high of 17c/62f and mostly cloudy. Weather app says “Your moves are fucking weak, sun. You need to fucking do better than this.” No, suits me fine, thank you very much.

It is very good for the body, I need to do some more of the going to bed early thing. I shall not be in bed early tonight because it’s pub night, but I should manage it tomorrow. Sadly, I did not sleep well last night and woke up stupidly early today. Not good since tonight is a late one too.

I am sorry that you’re having to give in, but kind of happy that it will make FCD happy and might even help him deal with whatever’s going on in his head. Fingers crossed that you can train him properly to look after his dog.

Poor little sausage, I’m glad to hear she’s feeling better now. Must be very stressful for dogs that are long-term boarders.

Happy anniversary, I hope you enjoyed dinner!

Oopsie sorry to hear Bailey had an accident, and sorry that you had so much cleaning up to do.

Yesterday turned out busier than expected, but I logged out of irk on time and got campus food fixed for the rest of the week. I had pan-fried salmon and a mahooosive salad for dinner, watched some tellybox stuff and went to bed. I woke up stupidly early which did not make me happy because it’s only just after 9am and I’m already yawning.

Big new today though! I was sitting in my chair in the home office, and Muffin came up to me, stood right beside me, rubbed herself against my leg and let me stroke her. Then she bit me, of course, but it’s progress!
