Did some housework, put the recycle bin back in the garage (no garbage pickup yet) and have my Firday shopping list ready, so will shortly pack and head to the gym for a couple of hours. If I can remember that long, I’ll pack my swimmin’ trunks and spend a little time in the whirlpool, too. About 87F outside, didn’t get any of Mollies rain, but we’ll see if the night brings any precipitation.
I can play that role too…
lucky, hope the doc can help, let us know.
And it’s noon time so since I have already had 1,400 calories this morning, time to go work some of them off. Catch y’all later.
My plan today is to clean, rollsuck, and mop. But a cute black Kitteh is sleeping in the sun exactly where I need to do that so those plans are on hold until the sun and/or cat moves. It’s hard to believe but it’s not humid, raining, or cloudy. It’s a bonita dia.
Another one of those days. Secondary kept jamming up. And Smalls kept sending totes of unscanned stuff to the 300 Slide. J had filled a rolling basket(48"x12"x"16) of stuff before I got there, and we got 8 totes between 0630 and 0730(probably 400 pieces). So that was a mess cleaning it up. Not a lot of damages and rewraps at least, I was out by 1045. I did my Senior Day shopping, and had chorizo and egg tacos for lunch. I hear thunder in the distance.
At this point I would feign death to avoid her.
“Why is my primate servant stealing my excrement again?”
At the gym and about 800 calories sweated off, so wil be heading home soon. At least I can now justify some of that frozen custard when I get back
Waiting to hear from the coordinator on my 7U team, by next Thursday we should be practicing and I may also have a 10u boys team to go with it, so youth soccer is back in my plans.
I have to go back to the doctor tomorrow and if labs aren’t significantly improved, he’s sending me to the hospital. This crap is getting old. It’s not so painful, but the fatigue that’s kicking my butt.
It’s an annoying day! Weather is currently at 78Ferrets, with a predicted high of 94(!)F (yes, you read that right!).
shoe, did you ever get that cup of tea? I’m off to go have another right now! Your impromptu dinners sound quite nice, btw. And glad you had a good day at work and got cashed up with tip money.
metal mouse, kudos to you for getting after the housework, too. It feels great when it’s done, doesn’t it? And you might be right about Pond Guy not showing up today… BTW, I think you’d like frozen yogurt just fine. It doesn’t taste like I think you’re afraid it will.
That is such a thoughtful thing to do for others. Everyone should have someone they trust to ride shotgun on this arrangement, to do for one another. I and a friend have this agreement, too.
Congratulations on… enduring more pain, I guess? Truly, though, you have this in perfect perspective. You’re a shining example to us all why following doctors’ and PTs’ orders is so important!
Jolene is such a classy lady! For Ollie’s nail trim this week, it was a 3-poop morning. That’s pretty standard for him. When he’s nervous, he voids. Fortunately, none of it was in his crate. He’s gotten good about not doing that, at least.
Wow, red, that’s a lotta water. I hope the new med does the trick and gives you a breather from all this fun you’re having. I see in your most recent post that you’ve got more challenges ahead. I’m so sorry. May it all resolve well soon, and I hope you are able to avoid going back to the hospital.
Really lovely sunrise piccie yesterday, Mollie! And you look lovely. I wish my legs looked that good in leggings… Good advice re adding a necklace already given. Or even a skinny scarf.
swampy, congrats on completing the mowing, and I’m glad your power company is so efficient! My electric co-op has been doing a lot of infrastructure upgrades and I’m glad for that, but the periodic outages they impose to accomplish them are getting a little old. First world problem, for sure. And I’m with you on the grilling – even in the rare snow we get here, I may be out there doing the grill thang.
And I’m with both of you. No HOAs for me. I don’t want some power hungry board of imbeciles harshing my mellow – or my yellow. When my beloved spouse and I moved to my current locale, one of the threshold questions we asked ourselves about any potential property was, “Is it far enough away from any town that we won’t become incorporated or encroached upon by growth?” The answer for where I live now is, “Yes!” Twenty-one years on and very little has changed. I like that.
Ollie just told me he’d like to come live with you, please. I hope the appointment with your optometrist went well.
Awww! What a sweetie!
cookie, I hope you feel better soon. Scary that a little exercise can do that to us. Keep track of those symptoms though, won’t you?
lucky, what time’s dinner? Truly, your carnitas sound fabulous!
Pond Guy is still not here. I have a feeling I’m going to get a, “Gee, we just couldn’t make it today,” email or call soon. He’s messed up my plans all week, and I’d be more fussed about it, except I think he’s working me in and around his other regular work so he can charge me less. I’ll tell myself that. Yeah. Yeah.
Anyway, it’s one of the hottest goddamn days of the year, so I don’t really mind that I don’t have to go out and be sociable in it. So long as the work gets done before our rainy season hits, I’m fine with it.
Only I really want a nap because I didn’t sleep well last night. But that isn’t going to happen in case PG shows up. I also have the tee vee off, which regular background noise keeps Ollie from hearing the Invisible Mole People or whatever TF else he barks at. Since it’s not on, he hears every little noise that I can’t and leaps to his feet every 5 minutes to bark!! Bark!! BARK!!!
On top of all else, there is a pan of brownies going begging. They are meant for Pond Guy and his family, not for me. I’ll find another home for them, I hope.
In less whiny news: Blackberry picking commenced this morning. Yaayyy!!
Howdy Y’all! We had quality cee-mint pond time followed by showerage and nappage. Inside in the a/c has been the right place to be this afternoon. We had an earlyish sup and are now in chill mode.
shoe pepper jelly and cream cheese is cute with one of those cute little knives on uses for appetizers and spread on a cracker. It should be a fancy type cracker. However, if one is just eatin’ it for themselves, one may use whatever knife is handy and save the fancy one for when guests are over. I would not judge scoopin’ it with a spoon and eatin’ it sans crackers if one is by oneself. However, do not do this in front of guests. One must show some decorum, after all.
WetOne Ursula is a keeyoote kitteh!
Molly I guess it is time for high skool football season. IMO it’s way too early, but I remember August start dates even way back in the stone age when I was in high skool.
red appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed for signigicant improvement.
BrightTree feel free to pick and eat my share of blackberries. ICK! It’s a taste/texture thing. Same with raspberries.
Well that seriously sucks. Fingers crossed for better lab work. If there is anything else we can do, just say the word! (How’s Nelson’s treat and toy supply?)
We also took pets if they were there, but returned them as soon as the family showed up. I’m glad you have someone to minor housecleaning for you as well. People are strange, they didn’t care about their bathroom being disgusting, but sure didn’t want Mom to know that they had a copy of Debby Does Dallas.
We’ve just gotten used to putting ratty towels in the carrier and carrying more ratty towels and garbage bags so we can dispose of the badly soiled carrier towels.
Oh, I have to. Can you imagine the sigh our beloved night nurse would give if I started slacking? “I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed!”
Yeah, not going to risk that!
So we got rain while I was at my torture session and it cleared up until dinner time so we got to eat while watching the rain. Hubs doesn’t say anything, but I think he likes watching it too.
I’m still on a two pound weight limit but I think I’ll be able to start doing some cooking again. I will just have to plan it so Hubs can pull everything out at once instead of going back and bothering him over and over.
He’s been really great about this, very patient and willing to do what he needs to. He doesn’t complain about driving me to appointments and then waiting for me to be done, and he comes into listen to what they are telling me so we both will have better chances of remembering.
Up from naptime, having a Royal Hawaiian and Smoked Paprika Chicken with cheesey potato rounds and green beans and mushrooms. Spot is off being cat and mysterious.

Mise en place is your friend.
I’m the opposite. My friends and family would be disappointed if they didn’t find a bootleg copy of Debby Does Sharktopus in my effect.
Sounds great. Did you marinate before cooking? What seasoning did you use?
We were going to go to The Beach (‘Five Star Dive Bar’), but it looked crowded. We went across the street to Bay Breeze instead. The Missus had a Korean fried chicken sandwich with a Caesar salad (the only kind they make) instead of fries. I had the parm-encrusted rockfish with asparagus. I don’t remember what she drank (something sweet), but I had two Rob Roys.
It’s 10:25pm and it’s raining like hell outside, which makes me happy because (1) I’m inside and (2) We (as in: my lawn) really needed the moisture. The thunder and lightning can go away soon, it is inconvenient when one is trying to sleep, but such is life. Shopping list is ready to go for tomorrow, so hopefully the rain will be done in the next 8 hours.
And I apparently am coaching a 10U Boys team too, so that’s my two teams for the season, that should keep me occupied until November.
red, may the lab reports be positive.
Bright Tree, as I noted above, you (and FCM) are probably quite right about yogurt, but I am what I am and with ice cream and custard available, I’ll probably stick with them. As for the brownies, well…
swampy, if your where I think you are, you might get some rain tonight, so stay dry.
JtC, guess Hubs will be sticking around awhile…make sure he knows when you can get back to ‘real’ foods so he can stock up.
And getting near 11pm, so off to Slumberland I go. Catch y’all tomorrow.
Up, cafffeinated, and sheveld. Off to heave. It’s currently 76 degrees Ferret Height(24.444 Centipdes) with a Heat Index of 83F(28.333C)
Me: < opens fridge door >
Spot: < begins gnawing on corn silk sticking out of vegetable crisper >
Me: “STOP BEING A CAT!”
Spot: “What?”
Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 13c/56f with a predicted high of 19c/66f and mostly cloudy. Weather app says “Fucking suck it, clouds. Fucking suck it.” It was a relief to see some rain yesterday, that’s for sure.
Mollie no, we were definitely not wearing the same band t-shirt Yours is a lovely colour!
WetOne Ursala is a very pretty kitteh.
Lucky your tacos sound delicious!
doggio feigning death is my backup plan for when we tell her exactly what’s coming her way
JtC I’m glad the recovery is going well and you might be able to get back in the kitchen again.
Yesterday turned out to be a busy one as I had a lot of module registrations stuff to do so I put the previous day’s training session to good use and got it all sorted out. The commute home was relatively easy, the cats were not too demanding, and I made tarragon chicken for dinner. We watched some tellybox stuff and I was in bed later than usual but not too late.
Today I was up before the alarm went off, and have a bonus working from home day. I got a call on Wednesday from my GP’s surgery offering me an appointment for today. I wasn’t about to turn it down since I’ve had to wait a month for it. I did the decent thing and offered to come in afterwards but that would mean arriving at the office around lunchtime so it really doesn’t make much sense to do that.
Instead, I had a leisurely start to my day, I went out earlier to post a birthday card in the box across the road, I’m sheveled sufficiently to be amongst the public, I’ve had two cups of tea and some breakfast so I think I’m about ready for the day. We had some blessed rain yesterday which was good to see. It was much cooler in the house last night too. I’ve checked my inboxes for skip fires and found nothing but smouldering bits from yesterday. Now it’s time to get myself out of the house. The rain’s stopped, the sun’s out, so I can walk into town which will take about half an hour. Now to find myself some good music to listen to while I’m walking.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out and mostly clear, with a predicted high of 93 (it’s a cool down!) with partly to mostly cloudy skies and a chance of rain mid to late afternoon. I shall go handle candle and other duties this mornin’. OYKW will accompany me and then we will be bears who brunch at Eggs Up for today’s main need to feed. The rest of the day will be devoted to RDOS sloth as is our wont.
MetalMouse we did, indeed, get some rain last night between eight and ten p.m. There was some thunder and lightnin’, but mostly blessed continuous rain. It was so nice it made me sleepy.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I must purtify and don attire acceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed.
We’re going out on the boat today, assuming SIL and his friends don’t change their minds. Weather promises to be nice, so far. I’m not particularly excited about the excursion, but there ya go. Laundry will be done later, or tomorrow.
We had some rain last night, and a few distant rumbles. Tomorrow is supposed to be soggy all day. That’s going to mess up the Dragon Boat races and the concert at the museum - sucks to be them, I guess.
So this is my last chance to chill for a while. I don’t want to do anything today, but I will, because I’m nice, dammit!
We better not have rain today, I have the laundry out on the line. I’m already tempting fate enough, as there’s a big elderberry bush which is currently covered in ripe fruit right next to the washing line… I have a lot of little birdies around, who like elderberries…
I had bin drama yesterday- I forgot it was bin collection day and only just made it before they came down the street.
I was wondering if I should arrange for someone to come around and make my life look more interesting in that situation… Leave mysterious documents that need decoding, hints of secret identities or drama, weird objects of indeterminate usage.
Today’s weather here is predicted to be pleasant enough to open up the house and turn off the cooling machinery.
We have to get a new stereo receiver (amplifier and radio tuner in one box.) The TV is getting cranky, too. A lot of the receivers are touting 3 or 4 speakers per channel plus a subwoofer. I don’t need all that frippery. I have one speaker left and one speaker right. Does anybody really use all that foofooraw?
