(Old) Rainy Days and Mondays in the MMP

{{{JtC}}} He’ll be in the right place and everything will be fine. Really - would I lie???

Seriously, tho, good, strong, heart-healthy thoughts coming his way. Try not to make yourself too crazy.

I use imgur also. The trick to imbed the images here is to select copy the direct link on the photo and then paste it here on its own line no other coding needed.

Howdy Y’all! GC got us fed. Then nappage and day drinkin’ were accomplished. How do we keep up such a frantic pace! Now we are relaxin’ until it’s time for Netflix, chill and popcorn.

JtC hope all goes well for hubs.

My 24 pounds of Community Coffee arrived. Earlier, I put the defunct coffee maker into a box that was almost big enough. But not quite big enough. I bent the flaps and taped them down as well as I could, then cut a flap off of the Big Box O’ Coffee and taped it on top. Then I taped on the return label.

After irk I’ll make the 50-mile r/t to FedEx in Bellingham to send it on its way. I’ll try to stop by Goodwill or Salivation Army on the way home to see if I can find another $5 coffee maker like I got for my office.

The arts and craft show went well. People really seemed to like my woodworking things. Very affirming, as the artist is always the harshest critic of his work.

Holy crap! Two pounds lasts me a long time! How does it not go stale?

I missed this earlier - Spot looks absolutely precious.

I have a nickname (whatever version gets settled on), I’m officially one of the cool kids!

They look like sweeties, even if they don’t feel that way about each other!

Thank you I will try that next time!

And an update on the blinds situation - I just wheeled the trash bin back from the curb. It’s already dark enough you can see further into my living room than I would prefer, and having a TV or electronics screen on would definitely be super visible. So I’ll continue closing them around 5, but at least since I’m WFH I’ve been able to enjoy having them open all day.

It’s vacuum packed.

Just got off the phone with La Jefa. I’m being moved from Exempt to non-Exempt. Which means I’ll have to clock in and clock out. It doesn’t affect my pay, but it’s a bother. I’m a little miffed because technically I’m a manager because I moved into the position when the former manager retired. I’m the only one in the department, but still…

The preacher’s wife stopped by with a card and a DIY hyacinth bulb thingie - we’ll see if it grows. I gave her the 2 cross-stitch pictures that FCD wanted me to pass along (He got stuck in traffic caused by an accident.) We chatted a little and I’m hoping she doesn’t decide she wants to be buds. I’m glad she came to see MIL, but I’m sure I mentioned she’s just a little tooooo much for me - I’m sure she’s sincere, but it comes across as forced/faked/rehearsed. Luckily, she doesn’t have my number and I’m sure FCD can deflect her as needed.

Speaking of numbers, I canceled MIL’s phone so it’s off my Consumer Cellular account. FCD took the battery out of the phone along with de-batterying another phone, and Daughter took them home for the kids to play with. We’ll be seeing our money guy at the credit union on Tuesday and we’ll get MIL’s name off the account - glad it was a joint account for all 3 of us. Then it’ll just be a matter of waiting for the death certificates so FCD can contact SS and the company that handles her benefits from FIL’s pension. And I think that will be it. An estate is simple to deal with when there’s no real property involved and no bizarre bequests.

Just finished 2 loads of sheets and blankets from her room. There’s one more small blanket downstairs and it’ll be tossed in with the towels tomorrow. I think apart from laundry, I’ll reorganize the guest room closet and pull some of the extraneous stuff from FCD’s office closet so I can store all extra blankets and pillows in one place. I may have a comforter or two to rehome, too. So much stuff… so much…

What really surprises me is how big the living room looks with the recliner gone. It wasn’t that big a seat, but the cover was dark gray, so visually, it was a big hunk of furniture. I moved the other recliner (in pieces) from the bedroom to the room I’m in now so SIL can take it home with him next time he comes. Now, what to do about that round Shaw rug that MIL so loved and I so don’t love. She was fond of telling me how expensive it was, so I don’t feel like I can just give it away. Maybe I’ll try an ad.

For now, tho, chillage and crocheting. Hoping for another good night of sleeping, too. I’ve got a lot of zzzzzzzzzz to catch up on.

Oh dear, I hope everything goes well for Monday.

That was precisely my day, too! :frowning: I think, between the ongoing crisis with the IRS, my dad winding up in the ER plus some other assorted crap, I fretted my way into a panic attack. My heart would not stop pounding, and my tummy turned into a bile factory.

I’m finally holding down water & am cautiously starting to sip a Vitamin Water, but man am I not looking forward to Long Night tomorrow. Still very shaky & weak.

I need to refill all the rattie water bottles, and really should replace Monkey’s poopin’ box, but I can barely walk, I move like I’m 108 years old.

Jax & Oliver are beautiful!

Hugs to both of you. I hope it’s only the heart cath this time.

Terrific!

Ugh. I hope we both feel better tomorrow.

I have to get up and start a new round of physical therapy for my knee tomorrow. That should be interesting. Otherwise, not too much planned.

Med equipment guy came this evening and all the stuff is now gone. So tomorrow the carpet will be cleaned. Back to crochet.

None of you want to know about my water problems. At least the storm caused power line fire in my backyard took my mind off of them for a while, but only a while and I can’t fix one until I’ve finished paying for the other.

@FairyChatMom~ ~maybe MIL’s church would like that Shaw rug for one of their parlors or lobbies? They would always include it in a fund raising auction or raffle.

And all the kittehs and pups are soooo cute. Imp52 are your two siblings or did they each come by that devishish look independently?

What a good looking bunch of puppers!

If you’re inclined to donate them, check to see if you have some kind of donor / loaner program in your community. They take donations of walkers, wheelchairs, crutches, etc, check them for safety and loan them to folks who are in need of them.

Not really sure, but we interred Mom’s ashes, urn and all in a cemetery plot that they purchased years ago when one of my brothers passed as an infant. Dad’s parents (in caskets) are in that plot, another brother who died as a baby and at some point, Dad’s ashes.

Feel better soonest sticky buns!

What handsome gentlemen they are!

Or the less nuclear option of unfollow.

:people_hugging:

I hope that you’re feeling better soonest too!

Elvis has left the building.

My goddog’s dad called yesterday. He told me that it was Elvis, her big basset hound brother’s time and asked me to come with him. I took off irk a couple of hours early, took Nelson up to play with Penny, my goddog and hang out with his nephew while we accompanied Elvis to the vet. He was a good dog who lived well for most of his 15 years. I feel honored to have been part of his pack since he was a 4 month old pup.

I remember the time when we were cooking out and, while the grill master was tending to other things, Elvis managed to get two chicken leg quarters off the grill before being caught. He was quite the character.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

No, I’m keeping them because based on FCD’s surgical adventures, we’re very likely to need them in the not-too-distant future. And we do have a program in the county called ACTS that I linked to upthread - that’s where we got the shower chair for MIL. Which reminds me - I need to get it back to them.

Actually, that’s what I did.

Gotta figure out how tomorrow will go. I want to get the laundry first thing. I have to meet the woman who’s taking the diapers, etc. at noon. I definitely want to get the carpet cleaned so it’ll have all weekend to dry and SIL can come on Moanday and bring the bed upstairs so I can put the guest room back together. Plus I want to go out for breakfast, but the place where I really want to go gets crowded really fast and I don’t want to get there at 6:30 when they open, so maybe I’ll settle for Cracker Barrel.

Decisions, decisions…

Meanwhile, it’s creeping up on 9 - maybe I’ll take the tablet and play some idiotic games till I fall asleep. Or not. Dunno…

So…I’ve smoked a bunch of weed and am now just mad at him. Once he recovers from this procedure, I’m going to kill him and get it over with. He refuses to do anything to take care of his health, he won’t get vaccinated without threats of buying another Maine Coon, he won’t walk at the gym and won’t even bob around in the pool with me. They might have capped most of the old mine shafts in AZ, but we are in WV and there are a LOT of played out coal mines here…

Plus, his communication lately has just sucked.

He came out to get Jolene out of the car…GG was right at the door waiting for them and Hubs took too long to carry her out of the entry and open her carrier. Hubs opened the top and GG was licking her face and trying to get in with her. They did some mutual face licking then Jolene went off to pee.

After we both agreed that they were so cute together, he asked if I wanted to go with him on Monday. I was all ??? “Oh, the left side of my heart isn’t working so they want to do a heart cath. If you don’t want to come, I have to arrange a ride by tomorrow.”

The fuzzbutts have been mutually comforting each other over their very bad day. GG doesn’t do well without his thinking brain cat and she thought that our vet was awfully forward considering they have barely spent any time together.

After all that upset, I went through the mail and found a beautiful card from @missred ! Thank you so much, it is so cute and came at just the right time. I do need to ask though…did you pick a Cardinal because they are beautiful birds that are often used in Christmas scenes…or because you knew that Cardinals are the WV state bird?

They also co-exist with a lovely dove. I’ve seen pics of the dove out of the cage and Allie just looking annoyed…but Allie usually looks annoyed by the paparazzi so I’ve never been sure if Misty is annoying or not.

We would also admire pics ya’know?

That’s a hard way to find a silver lining. I’m so sorry this is happening to you. Have you tried calling 211 and asking what programs might be available to help you?

I’m sorry. It always hurts when good dogs and spoiled cats cross the Bridge.

Hi FCM I’ve stayed in Gatlinburg for the Great Smoky Mountains Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage 3 times and each time stayed in a condo through vrbo dot com. Some very nice condos are available. The last time a friend went with so I reserved a 2 bedroom condo. It overlooked just the most gorgeous view.

We are here for you.

@JaneDoe42 ~I’ll crank up my good karma machine for you both Monday.

You can kill him later-give me a little lead time and I’ll come down to help you hide the body. I just checked drive time is 15 hours and a route south and east of me so weather won’t bother me and my spiffy new AWD tires.
