(Old) Stone Cold Vacation A 4/20 MMP

I will be forcing the issue. It’s either that or her arms become immobilized (frozen arm syndrome).

I have decided { grand sweeping gesture } that I shall … get a taco.

Must fortify myself for the “short shift” they’ve started. Go in at 8 p.m., do some stuff, then take over the closing/break down tasks. It’s not bad, you basically have the day to yourself to take a nap be super productive, then go make a few bucks.

What, imma run errands at 9:45 pm?

Meanwhile, a carne beef taco, on flour tortilla with cilantro ‘n’ onions, and a side of sliced avocado cuz I’m bougie like dat. With extra lime if I remember to ask for it.

So many lens flares - whoda thunk they could afford JJ Abrams?

Howdy Y’all! I have had enough broth, Jell-O and lemon-lime popsicles to last me a lifetime or until I have to do this again, whichever comes first. I had a call from the place this afternoon to ask me if I could be there at eight a.m. tomorrow for a nine a.m. procedure instead of at ten-thirty for an eleven-thirty one. I said yes. Therefore I start drinkin’ the ick at six p.m. and get to finish it up between midnight and three a.m. I will be one grumpy old bear! However I will be glad to get it over with. I most likely won’t post again until somewhat later in the day tomorrow as I imagine eat and then sleep will be my main goals when it’s over.

The procedure itself isn’t too bad, but prep suuuuuxxxxx. Good luck.

Carmen passed inspection, but she’s eating oil. I went down to Crude Bitters to pick up some cocktail supplies. I napped. Dinner tonight was a martini, and ginger teriyaki stirfry.

Yuo look like a lady to me.

It will inflate the boobs.

Hopefully she’ll listen to you and the doc and move around.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and drinkin’ ICK. Grumpy and not caffeinated. ‘Tis 56 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 82 and sunny. I said in my last post I would have to drink the last of ICK between midnight and three a.m. However it’s from three a.m. to six a.m. so here I am. OYKW is my DD and when it’s over he will drive us to get stoner food for my post procedure feast. I expect large nappage to follow.

Molly the good part, I suppose, is that I won’t know it when it happens. I’ll just wake up in the recovery/fart room, let out an air fart, get sump’n to drink, dress and leave.

Now I drink more ICK. Then I will explode the terlet again.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Senior Day grocery shopping is on the agenda, along with bird seed for Onan. Spot is watching his shows. It’s currently 54 degrees Ferret Height(12.22 Centipedes)

You, and some of the people at work today.

Last couple of times, I had the mail-in box o’poo, I guess since there’s no family history, so low likelihood for me. But I expect I’ll still have to undergo the ICK again, eventually. Not much fun, but better safe, right? Have fun, swampy!

Day starting at 52 Ferrets. We’re going to do breakfast at the Flashback Diner, then head to the boat to finish the plumbing on the 2 showers. That means FCD will futz with the showers and I will fetch and hand him tools and such. Not sure what else may happen, but the weather should be nice, so there’s that.

There’s going to be a boat stuff flea market at the marina on May 9 - we need to sort and gather stuff we want to sell. It’s way too easy to accumulate miscellany that’s too good to toss but not something you’d want to use. With luck, we can sell a couple of the $$$ items.

For now, tho, I’ll surf till FCD gets up and we get going.

Happy Thursday!!

i get lens flares off my right eye. that eye has more correction. it is all in the angle of light i found out. even moving my head a teeny tiny bit has the flare go away. i thought the same thing about jj abrams!

back to spring weather in philly today.

Good morning, all! We were up and at it this morning. The sky was clear this morning, so while I could see all sorts of colors in the sunrise, no one else could. Chloé saw her friend Roxie this morning and got so jealous when Roxie went to Mrs Magill for all the scratches that she dropped the stick she’d been carrying for the last two miles.
Mrs Magill and Squeaky are headed off to Knoxville tomorrow afternoon, so they can attend UT’s open house Saturday.

Cookie - Don’t be afraid to be a nag. We are firmly convinced that stopping moving is what eventually did my mother in. Gotta keep moving.

You are very kind.

I am unsure how to respond to this.

Swampy - I’ll be thinking about you. Make sure OYKW takes you somewhere good for lunch. You will be hungry.

When I found out that the senior discount at Bojangle’s started at 55, it was life changing.

Thanks to my father, I had to start the ICK at 40. I’ve always felt a little sorry for the USPS folks who have to handle the box o’poo. I’m sure it has the biohazard flower on it, but is it at least otherwise unmarked?

I was getting a sense of something moving on the outside of my vision for the first couple of day in my right eye. I’m waiting patiently for the ghosts to stop walking around on my left side now.

The vet drew blood from Goo to see if she has hyper-thyroid condition. Further tests would determine two ‘T-counts’. Catmom elected not to pay for the further testing at the time, but after the diagnosis she decided they would be a good idea. She called the vet yesterday to see if they had enough of Goo’s blood, and they don’t. So Goo needs to go back to the vet today for another draw. Catmom says she’s not letting them leave the tape on Goo’s leg. It was a little traumatic getting it off at home.

Mrs. L.A.'s RAV4 went into the shop. They finally got back to her to let her know that the repair would cost $3,200. :grimacing: Her catalytic converter is clogged, and all but one ball bearing was missing from the drive shaft. She was planning to go to a women’s retreat Friday through Sunday, but she won’t have her car back until Monday. So she cancelled her reservation.

My ‘new’ Prius went to the shop Tuesday to have a catalytic converter security shield installed. The side-view mirror remote control wasn’t working. The shield was installed yesterday, but the shop had to order a new switch for the mirror that won’t arrive until today.

That leaves us with the Jeep and the MGB. I left the Jeep with The Spousal Unit yesterday, and drove the MG to irk. I got the ‘hood’ (top) out of the ‘boot’ (trunk), and tried to put it on. Too cool, so it was too tight. I had to go to irk topless. With the current vehicle situation, I’ll drive it again today. (There’s the R1; but I’d have to charge the battery, and I don’t have time.)

Good morning.

It’s 46F and mostly cloudy right now. The forecast calls for a mix of sun and clouds and a daytime high of 60F.

BooFae, I hope the move is going/went well today. I hope TM is not being troublesome, too.

Swampy, hope everything goes well today.

Yesterday’s trip to Katsu Burger was worth it. It was delicious and fresh.

We are supposed to ride our bikes today, but there is a huge multi-hour Lahar Evacuation Drill going on in the town (Orting) where we start out. We can’t even enter the town at this time because all traffic will be flowing away from it. And, even when the drill is over, traffic will be horrible because everyone, including students, will be returning to town. I think I’m going to try and convince my husband that we’ll go tomorrow.

For those of you who don’t understand, Orting is a small town in a valley, located 30 miles from Mount Rainier, built on layers of lahar debris from Mount Rainier eruptions and mudflows. If Mount Rainier were to blow, a lahar would reach Orting in approximately six minutes. Something to think about, isn’t it?

My son signed his life away at the title company yesterday, but it still looks like closing won’t happen until the 28th. That doesn’t give him much time to get out of his apartment, clean it, and move into his home. Oh well, we’ll be there to help.

However, I am thinking of boarding the dogs because he can’t pick up the truck until the afternoon, and I don’t think it’s a good idea to take the dogs with us to a strange new place while we’re trying to move stuff in. I’ll need to discuss with my husband.

Flyboy, I hope the test results help and that your cars are returned soon.

Welp, I suppose I should get the day started. You all take care of yourselves.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP. After that, Sis will be here and we’ll go grocery shopping and to get my car. Yay, wheels!

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

I had scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and bacon for breakfast. Spot had dry, flavorless bits. Off to rampage.

Harris Teeter’s starts at 60, but I’ve been getting it since I was 50. But I’ll trade my dignity for $3 off my order ever week.

Trust me, everybody involved is horribly aware of what’s in the box

:eyes:
but ouch on all the repairs.

I’m thinking most people in town would be better off spending their last 6 minutes praying to the deity of choice, instead of getting Pompeii-ed on Elm Street.

I got the spare meatloaf out of the freezer Sunday. I thought Mrs. L.A. would cook it for dinner one night. Just put it into a loaf pan, bake it for an hour and a half, pour on some tomato sauce, and bake it for another 15 or 20 minutes. But she’s torn the kitchen apart, and hadn’t made it. So it’s in the oven now. I’ll pul it out as soon as the tomato sauce sets, slice it up into eight slices, cover it, and set it out to cool. Mrs. L.A. can put it in the fridge later. Thursday is our date night, so we might have it tomorrow.

I hope she doesn’t get mad at me for making it.

mollie - the boxes say ColoGuard, so it’s kinda obvious. But if one follows directions, it’s well-sealed. IF

We had breakfast in an almost empty diner and it took for-freekin-ever to get our food. An omelet and some pancakes shouldn’t take 20 minutes. But we’re at the boat. I’m doing some cleaning and organizing between fetching and handing tools. I hope it won’t be a whole lot longer but I won’t ask. At least it’s a pretty day.

Yeah, I’m sick. Body temp exceeded 100F last night and early this morning, I’m seriously congested, and I was coughing so much I wound up spending part of the night on the sofa so DH could sleep (ours isn’t long enough for him, and he was the one who had to irk today).

Buddy has been a diligent nurse kitty, sticking close to me. Kasya, being an adolescent, is pretty much doing her own thing when I’m awake, but is taking advantage of opportunities to snuggle when I’m at least trying to sleep.

Howdy Y’all! I have been roto rootered. We got outta there around ten-thirty a.m. and got stoner food to take to da cave. I had a double loaded up cheeseburger and tater tots with cheese. I thought about a milkshake but decided that might be too much dairy for an empty tummy. We et, I took my meds and proceeded to accomplish nappage for almost three hours. No day drinkin’ for me as I am still a bit fuzzy in the haid. Definitely not a day to drive or make important decisions. They want to see me again in three years. I have the report but won’t read it until tomorrow when I can brain better. This evenin’ is reserved for mindless teevee watchin’. Plus there’s chawklit cream pie!

Nettie hope you’re better soonest. Glad you have Nurse Buddy to look after you.

MOOOOOOM I have done this DIY colonoscopy before, but the medical PTB decided a few years back I need the in person roto rooter now.

Hey everyone. It seems as though there is a young orange kitty living in our back yard. I have no idea why it has been sticking around, I’ve been really careful to not attract cats or raccoons but here we are.

It was standing on the outside windowsill looking in last night but when I went out to look, it took off.

We went to the big plant market today (I was delighted to learn that Columbines are native to WV, so brought some home. Hubs found a big catnip plant because our small ones won’t get big if we keep pinching leaves off) and when we got home, kitty was hiding under my car.

Hubs took food out and they made friends. I’m fairly sure kitty will end up coming in at some point in time so I’ve made a vet appointment for Saturday.

I know that the vet we picked occasionally has homeless cats available for adoption so I will probably bring bribe money in case it would help to get kitty seen and adopted. While we have room and resources for another cat, George and Jolene have a special relationship and we don’t want to risk bringing in another cat to upset it. We’ve lived with cats that hated each other and it wasn’t fun for anyone.

Hurray, I’m glad it is over with. I’d say that them not wanting to see you again for three years is encouraging all by itself!

I agree, OUCH! Its good you have other transportation options, I’ve always hated rental cars.

Oh horrors! Did she ever recover?!?

Besides buying plants, we also stopped at Aldi and brought home some hard cider for me. Hubs is drinking his Bourbon again, beer and other fermented drinks are off the menu now. I didn’t find anything new in the cheese aisle so bought some brie for snacking.

They are building a Kroger Marketplace on the other side of town which means there might be new and different cheeses. I’m excited!

Well, George thinks I need to have both hands on him so I guess I’d better sign off for now. Have great evenings everyone.

ETA: I just saw a litter box going into Hub’s bathroom. I’ll share pics when I get them.

Oh, and litter box trivia - yes some schools did have kitty litter stocked in the classrooms. Not because of “furries” but so kids would have somewhere to pee in case of a lockdown.
