(Old) Summarize your work in the MMP

Well, this is unusual: 11:18am on a Tuesday, and I’m able to post! From the office, even! It’s an unusual lull – which will end at 1pm, when three consecutive meetings start – but I keep checking my notes and my inbox and there doesn’t seem to be anything I need to be doing at the moment. I’ll take it.

The rest of yesterday was as boring as advertised. I put another small dent in the Lego Downton Abbey set (8 bags/203 steps down since I got it on Sunday…just 27 bags/324 steps to go!), had a banana and an Uncrustable and some pasta salad for dinner, and watched the first 5-6 innings of the Yankees game. Which they lost, again. The series moves to NYC tomorrow: last chance this season to get their pinstriped butts in gear!

Lunch today is another banana and another Uncrustable (no pasta salad, though; the rest of that is at home). Normally those would have been lunch yesterday, too, but because of the election training I was out of the house from 11:30am-2:30pm and when I got home I decided to just have my second protein shake. As directed by my bariatric center I have two shakes a day, for supplemental protein: one is always breakfast, and I drink the second one sometime in the afternoon. (Ensure Max cafe mocha, for enquiring minds. )

Speaking of my bariatric center, I’m waiting for the nurse practitioner to send me a MyChart message: I had bloodwork done Friday morning, and my liver enzymes are moderately elevated for the second time in a row (three months apart). I’m not worried yet, but it would be nice to hear that she isn’t worried, either…I’d also like to know about next steps. If I don’t hear anything by Thursday morning I’ll message her, but I happen to have an unrelated telemed appointment with my primary care doc on Friday morning (just a check-in) and can always ask her about it then.

I’m also still waiting to hear from my property manager/his contractor about when the work on my deck is going to start. The last I heard was that the contractor “will try to get the repairs done in October”; that was a week ago. I’ll ping my property manager again this weekend.

Luckily, I’m not dreading any of my remaining meetings today. And I should be able to bug outta here NLT 4:30pm, which will be perfect because I got to my desk shortly after 8am. All in all it should be a decent Tuesday…I hope the same for all of you!

:crossed_fingers: !!

Happy birthday to him!

::Maynard G. Krebs::“WORK!!!”/Krebs

A sunny, but windy day. Leaves coming off the trees, although we’re really not in peak leaf season yet.

Made a grocery run this morning and will do a laundry load this PM. The fun never stops around here!

Tomorrow is my eldest son’s 55th birthday. Somehow that makes me feel older than being almost 80.

I was on the 100 and 200 Slides all day. Except for the half of the sort where I was on the 100 and 300 Sort table, and MSG was on the Slides, with predictable results. And Screaming O was telling me not to shove totes under the slide. :face_with_raised_eyebrow: The damages and rewraps weren’t hideous. I did get a couple of overgoods done: A 50lbs bag of Home Despot rye grass seed, a box of Apple electronics, and assorted company promotional stuff somebody was shipping in a crappy Home Despot box, and an old school wood trunk. It was not a mimic(I checked), I wonder if it was the infamous Six Forks Trunk? I also had 2 abandoned packages that had vape cartridges in them. And THC vapes. And weed cigarillos(the legit THC shops don’t put dryer sheets in their shipments). So that was an interesting day.

Just go to a Wally World.

:bottle_with_popping_cork: :birthday_cake: :partying_face:HAPPY BIRTHDAY FATHER RED!!! :birthday_cake: :bottle_with_popping_cork:

Thanks for the reminder! A friend posted a picture (some years back) of a bunch of banned books and I decided I should read them. I bought a few, but they are so far unread.

And Wallace & Gromit are very cool. Makes me want some Wensleydale. With cranberries, natch.

@Doggio “Works but makes sad noises.” Sounds like a few of my coworkers.

Cleaned up the kitchen from the stuff that didn’t get cleaned up before. So tomorrow evening the counter might be empty!

Still have to finish the bottle of Gray Goose (I’ve decided I’m not really a vodka fan) and Chamboard (I thought the bottle is red - it’s actually the contents  ), and then it will be almost the end of Daylight Savings Time. So then it’s time to open a bottle of Scotch, and start the Tequila studies in spring. At least, that’s my plan. But it’s my plan, so I can change my mind.

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. So far, I’m not ded yet. Actually, I’m thinking I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and am hoping its not a train.

Doggio, that was me for most of my working life! :joy:

Thanks, it does seem to be helping. One of his staff called to check on me today and we agreed that I probably didn’t need to go in unless things get bad again. Fingers crossed.

That’s always my goal when cooking for a potluck, I don’t want to bring any of it home.

Congrats and hurray! Both are pretty awesome in many different ways.

I thought I did, but it was pretty dark

I’m glad you made it safely and hope your visit is as good as it can be.

I saw trump in Prescott Valley back in 2017. It was quite the show in a half empty auditorium. My favorite part was the people sitting outside in the “overflow” seating because they could have their coolers of beer.

I’m so sorry. The no coffee thing just bites.

If I lived in Sacramento or San Diego, I would be seriously triggered.

But…as you probably already know, I live in a very red state. I’m pulling No Kings parade permits in two red states and one purple state. I thought I would be fighting tooth and nail to get any permits issued, but so far, I’m getting nothing but cooperation. Of course, I haven’t started making phone calls yet, everything has been happening by email but I’m hoping their fast turn-around means something.

That sounds so annoying, you rented this place planning to use the deck, you deserve to get what you are paying for.

:crossed_fingers: :crossed_fingers: :crossed_fingers:

Happy Birthday, missred’s Dad!

I thought plain black coffee was OK? (But if you gots ta have cream’n’sugar, obvs that’s a no-no.)

Baby needs her cream and stevia.

Physical went well. She asked how things have been going. I told her about my chest sensitivity. She laughed. She said, “I don’t remember much, but I remember how much I hated my shirts touching me.”

Then I got my flu shot.

I had a barbecue sandwich for lunch and used up the last of my slaw. Now I’m on a call having to walk a greenhorn field tech in how to wire to a DSX panel and make a cross-connect. Field Tech 101 stuff. Gotta love it when they lay off the people with experience without training their replacements.

Why is it that so much of humanity has experienced this exact same lament, and yet .. TPTB continue doing the same damn dumb thing, until they themselves are replaced with the unwashedtrained masses?

We Krogered. There wasn’t any of my milk, Kroger 1% half gallon, in the cooler nor any Kroger half n half. So, I asked the Dairy guy, Dai’Shaun if he could check the back to see if any had been delivered this morning and not put into the dairy coolers yet and voila, he came out of the back with 2 half gallons of my milk (it was BOGO today) and a quart of half n half. I told him we would be praising him when we fill out the Kroger survey this week.

Also filled Hubs’ pill boxes, 2 weeks worth.

Now since it’s such a nice day, 68F sunny with a slight breeze, Hubs went golfing and I’m going to go for a walk.

Forgotten memory: I had a blue denim shirt that I loved and wanted to wear daily, then suddenly it was hurting so I stopped wearing it. Mom noticed after about a week and asked what was going on. The next day, I got my first training bra.

Today’s entertainment was going to Uncle J’s PT for Parkinson’s. We actually just sat in the waiting area. He goes again on Thurs - I hope we won’t be obligated to go again.

On the plus side, the soup I brought is really good.

Aunt B keeps talking about “the next time you visit” and so far I’ve managed not to shudder. Oh, does she love to talk! Especially about people I don’t know.

Purdue tomorrow, so we’ll get a break.

Okay, this is weird. The windows are covered with hundreds of very tiny bugs, like gnat-sized. Any ideas? Could the wind have stirred them up?

Sometimes lady bugs swarm. Could that be it? If so beware, they bite.

Enjoy! Mrs Magill loved it.

Someone noted that the Trump rally is tomorrow, which is what I get for trusting my memory. :stuck_out_tongue:

At least we didn’t find this out pulling into the venue!

Howdy Y’all! Laundry got laundered and put where it stays until it gets dirty again. Nappage and day drinkin’ then ensued. We also had an early sup. My Zoom thingy starts in about fifty minutes. This mornin’ I got an email with the proposed budget to look over before the meetin’. I looked at if for five minutes and thought “aight that’s indeed a budget.” In addition to budget, the meetin’ will include nominations to various and sundry committees and posts and resolutions to convention. I may faint from the sheer thrill of it all.

red happy bday to your dad! Appropriate/inappropriate appendages for the end of treatment.

cat_glove happy bday to your sis!

Oopsie hope the rest of your day remained uneventful.

Cookie I got the Maynard G. Krebs reference. Wonder how many others did.

These are way smaller than ladybugs. Think of mites or ink dots on paper.

Here’s a photo, but you can’t tell the scale. The actual bug is probably 1/16 inch.

Maynard G. Krebs. The G stands for Walter.

I used AI intentionally for the very first time 10 minutes ago. I’ve been trying to identify a particular scrapbook paper. I took a picture, uploaded it to Google images, and it came back with the name of a Liberty of London fabric. I turned on the microphone and explained what I was looking for, and the answer person came back with the correct answer.

Had a nice ride on Boom Shakalaka today. But I almost always have a nice ride on Boom Shakalaka. It is a beautiful weather day again and we deserve it.

Howdy Y’all! The Zoom thingy was not bad. We went over the budget, questions got answered, and no one got weird with questions. Also I got to say hi to a few folks I like a lot and will see next month at convention. It was all over in about forty-five minutes. Then I watched some stoopid teevee and had ice cream to reward myself.

I take it that you’re somewhere near San Antonio?

The big toe is infection free now! However, there was something hinky on the second toe, so I still have to infuse for another week, just to be safe.

On the way home, I pulled a real bonehead move. Instead of pulling out onto Hillcroft and heading north like I usually do, I pulled out onto Bellaire and headed west. I was talking to Dad on the phone and was a half hour into what should have been a 45 minute drive when I noticed that I was in Chinatown. Damn! That was dumb. It took an hour 45 minutes to drive home that way.
