(Old) Thank God It's Frood Day - A Hoopy MMP

I had it faster when I lived in L.A. I was southbound on the 405 and needed to get eastbound on the 22. I blipped the throttle to pass a car, and when I looked down I was doing 106. Supposedly this bike will 160 or 170. (No desire to find out.) Anyway I’m not frightened by the speed. I’m frightened by the Washington State Patrol. They have no sense of humour.

Nope, never caught the perpetrator. The murders always happened at night–cops said between midnight and 3 a.m… I’ve always wondered how this person got the cats in the first place. Most aren’t easy to catch, especially if they don’t know you.

The community as a whole was upset and nervous. We all know that people who torture animals are more likely to become murderers of humans. I think that’s why the special police team was started.

Here’s a link to an article about it, but honestly, it’s very graphic and disturbing. I wouldn’t read it if I hadn’t already been aware of the murders. I still find the whole thing deeply upsetting six years later. There were a couple of cats discovered after the story. IIRC, the murders stopped around Labor Day.

I napped. Spot slept on my head. There were thunderstorms in the distance. I had a Sazarac, and Asian BBQ stir fry. the usual Saturday.

The antibiotic I have is liquid as I told them the pills were too big.
I have to take 20 ml each time!
Church tomorrow!

I am not going to click on your link, just the details you shared were disturbing enough. I’m sorry you had to live through it, I would have been scared and mad too.

Happy Birthday Harold!

So a lot got done here, nothing really notable. We took CG several boxes of barley for his chickens and he gave us a couple of cartons of eggs. We don’t really need them, but we will be having lunch with NF and her hubs on Tuesday and will give them to her then. They will only be a week old then so still fresher than grocery sto eggs.

I packed up 10 framed needlework pieces and realized that between materials and custom framing, that was a 5 thousand dollar box. I didn’t share that with hubs.

Hubs found an AirTag for droids and ordered one for GG. I agree that if the worse happens, the locator will do more to get him home than his chip will. While I will be sure that there are at least two doors between GG and the outside at all times, shit happens and we are preppers. It is better to plan and prepare for something that doesn’t happen than to be left scrambling due to not planning.

I am done cooking in this house. I ran out of packing paper today so the rest of the kitchen won’t be packed until Wednesday, but we will be eating leftovers or take out until we leave. He’s leaving on the 30th and we will be leaving on the 4th.

I am so ready.

Obigatory dunken prost.

Tell me about it. Still wonder what happened to Darcy. :frowning:

Yeah, my last move was over 4 weeks, all done by myself, so I can relate.

She came across someone who loves dogs but didn’t know to have her scanned for a chip. She is now living a good life with someone who adores her and takes care of her.

I was getting my fourth Hemingway daiquiri I put it on the coaster and pulled my hand away, and… the stem of the glass was sticky. I managed to spill half of it. :frowning: And then I had to clean up my computer, two coasters, the exterior of the glass, the coffee table, the carpet…

I wasn’t drunk. Just sticky.

No, I’m sticky. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Happy belated birthday, Harold!

Not much to say right now. It’s early and I’m nauseous. Yeehaw.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 91 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization. This will be followed by a sammich N.O.L. at da cave and then quality cee-mint pond time wherein nappage and day drinkin’ will be accomplished. Any need to feed will be done via forage.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Ever wake up at 0630 to someone licking your head?
Anyways, up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. I shall clean and watch wall to wall auto sports today.

{{{{sticky}}}}

That’s an awfully personal question, you know… :stuck_out_tongue:

I woke in the wee small hours and heard rain, then I was actually able to fall back to sleep, so that’s a win. We’re going to try going to the marina again today. We set up MIL on pillows in an adirondack chair with her audio book. The only thing we forgot was her phone, but we’ll remember that today - so she can call us if she needs us. As it was, yesterday, we went to check on her a few times, plus we could see her from the boat.

Daughter might bring the kids over to swim today - it all depends on the weather. Mostly the day is gonna happen however it happens - we don’t need no stinkin’ plans!

Happy Sunday!!

Awake shortly after 4 so went on Instagram, Daughter Locator aka Find My Friend, google docs for her itinerary, the News ap and cleaned out a bunch of marketing emails for 2 hrs. Showered, bowl of cereal with blueberries, now going to do some dishes, curl my hair. Then off to mass where I’m lectoring today. Hope to finish planting the tomatoes and plant the petunias in Hubs’ mother’s planters. After that, we’ll see but want to workout on NuStep. Oh, also watching Roland Garos.

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 15c/60f with a predicted high of 16c/61f, and raining. Weather app says “If you have dogs, prepare for fucking wet dogs and fucking muddy paw prints.” No, no dogs here, and the only cat who is allowed outside doesn’t go far enough to get near any mud.

Happy birthday, Herald

She’s mid-50s, and is always the person who volunteers to stay and cover the office if there’s a meeting of any sort. The only one she will actually attend is the departmental meeting for the very small dept she is admin for, and that is probably the only meeting she has absolutely no requirement to be at!

Pilot well done on the to-do list, it’s always deeply satisfying when so much stuff gets ticked off a list.

If that’s better than you expected, it’s a bonus! Hopefully the antibiotics will continue to help and you’ll be feeling a bit more “normal” soon.

flyboy that’s a very nice looking jacket, and definitely more fitting for a red sportsbike!

nellie I am also not clicking on your link, if you say it’s horrific then that’s enough for me. I am a cat-lover and do not want to read nasty stuff, I already see enough nasty stuff coming into Little Paws that’s the result of people :frowning: I am sorry you had to live through it too, it leaves a scar no matter how you feel about animals.

Yesterday was a pretty busy day after the gym, lunch, errands and two loads of laundry. Last night we had burritos made with the leftover pulled pork from earlier in the week, they turned out well and were declared a success. My turn to cook tonight, I think it will either be spagbol or chilli, depends how I feel later on. I need something that will generate leftovers for Tuesday as we’re going out that night so I’ll need something quick and undemanding.

Today I have no plans to do anything, and no reason to leave the house. We watched a couple of films and had cocktails at home last night, so we had a late start today. I do need to be out and about tomorrow, so I think today is the perfect opportunity for slothage.

Morning all. Up early (around 6am) and done the Sunday NY Times acquisition at Kroger (along with apples, cereal and fat-free slices of cheese…) and am home waiting for the time I can head over to the Texas Roadhouse for some dinner. Outside of that nothing much planned for the weekend, rain is due after 10pm tonight so I’ll worry about that Moanday. Should be in the mid-80’s today so the AC will get some more work in. Major job will be to stay away from the cookies I bought yesterday until later this evening…going to be a tough job.

nellie, appreciate the story but I’ve read a little to much history on how humans can do evil things and just passed on this one. Hope the creep died of rabies.

JtC, any luck connecting folks up with CG? Sounds like someone would like that deal, extras they don’t need from the distribution for fresh eggs.

Flyboy, I just spill things on my keyboard, sounds like you were more ambitious…

Not that I can remember (and I think I’d remember that…)

Onward!

Kitchen is clean and sheets are almost changed, due to the assistance of Spot.

You said FCMiL was pretty much deaf, so I’m sure she can’t hear you and FCD get your freak on in the A.M. :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, you live alone, so that would be hella weird and creepy.

Not that I recall. But I am glad I didn’t wake up until 06:30 this morning!

Washed hair. Its to be 77, with storms later.
Off to church where theres an outside game of kickball and maybe hot dogs.

It took several weeks of packing stuff up before the movers got here for my last move. I’ve felt your pain, but it will be over soon. Oddly enough, finding where to put stuff in the new digs was always fun for me.

Happy birthday herald!

Got Sis sent off at 0530, then went back to bed for another hour. Nelson was a cabroncito last night, so I had to pretty much swaddle him to keep him from getting out of bed and standing by the side crying.

When we went out this morning, he got to see Bella from two doors down, Sully and Sugar from next door and even Link from three doors down. He’s beginning to get the idea that Link lives here too, even though he’ll bark at him initially (good thing that Link’s a gentle giant). Now, he’s snuggled in my arms.

I’m fixing to do KP and Sunday chores in a few.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!
