Had a customer service go-around with an insurance company (3 actually) and a credit card company and all’s well that ends well but it ate a big chunk of day.
My “some assembly required” project took much longer than expected, but with no particular vexation, just lots of fiddly steps. Naturally Amazon is taking their time delivering something I ordered late which is needed now to continue past assembly into loading. Sigh. So my disarray is reduced but not yet eliminated. Maybe by late Sat or Sun for sure I’ll have the part. Hah!
And the other project that needed to dry came out nicely as well.
I’ve been staring vexedly at the glassware but am enjoying doing nothing instead. Thought about going to a baseball game this lovely evening, but the Marlins are away and the minors are having a bring-your-doggie night promotion and you know what I think of pets in public. Not gonna do it. Sat’s game sounds more promising.
Somehow tapas and temperanillo is calling my name instead. Although I probably ought to eat something more substantial.
As to y’all …
Sorry so many of you are enjoying wet and noisy weather today. With luck it’ll use up its energy before the 3-day weekend so we can all picnic in peace.
That is a really cool looking piece. Utterly not my style, but thanks for pointing it out.
@missred: congrats on the raise. Every bit helps.
They do indeed. Oh yeah! You’re doin’ it up proud. I can’t touch that display for sheer overwhelming variety. Clearly the work of a connoisseur. Go doggio!
I’ve got a snazzy wine fridge/cellar, one freezer shelf is full of the booze that benefits from being served at -15C, there’s champagne and white wine in the regular refrigerator, and some more booze and all the wine & cocktail tools, coasters, etc., arrayed atop the wine fridge. Makes a pretty but uncrowded display. The other couple dozen bottles live in the “basement” AKA walk-in utility closet.
Then I have all the specialized glassware, 4 each times 7 kinds. A curio cabinet or bookshelf might be just the thing, but I’m hoping to avoid adding more furniture. We shall see.
“Array” is of course a perfectly cromulent word for a mostly-orderly collection of stuff. e.g. “There was an array of hors d’oeuvres set up for the party”, etc. Or in verb form: “The soldiers’ equipment was arrayed in front of them for the commanding officer’s inspection.”
But nobody says “The playroom was in total disarray after the kids left. So I put everything back into array.”
