(OLD) The Dessert MMP!

Afternoon all. Been to the Doctor’s office and have been bled, irradiated, and had electrodes attached to my body, all in the name of healthy living. BP isn’t bad (133/82) and they x-rayed where I have the occasional backache. I was told that one of the discs down there is slowly getting bad, but since the pain only comes maybe once a week and goes away once I’m standing erect, I’m not going to do anything more until it becomes a real problem. Otherwise things seem to be in pretty good shape. Celebrated by eating out at Whalburgers, should be going swimming but have a case of the dontwannas, we’ll see if I can make it over there. Weather has cleared nicely so soccer will keep me busy tomorrow for 5-6 hours.

Much thanks Real Fish; not promising I’ll do it, but might be nice to add to the schedule.

FCM, much luck on the terlet fix. Have had that problem before, just fiddled with the handle and insides and it seemed to get better.

Flyboy, your wife sounds like my Mom used to be. Don’t treat her fairly and she’ll open a can O’whoopass on you… And an otterly charming visitor!

Herald, hooray for the new dishwasher.

Pilot, massive amounts of scooters always reminds me of Bangkok about 20 years ago.

Agreed and I try to do the same. And welcome home.

Cha-ching!!

You are on a roll today!

shoe, great pic of Monkey and just the perfect heading.

OK, need to work up the ambition to go do backstrokes in the pool for a bit. All y’all take care.

Howdy Y’all! Been a very slothful day here in da cave. We have napped, day drank, and et pizza and sallit. Trash tv and Netflix have been and continue to be watched.

The real block:

Now I have to make seven more just like this

That is magnificent. What beautiful colors and amazing work.

I got on a good roll today!

Up from naptime, having a gin&tonic, and watching hockey.

Mine is 14+ years old.

Nice block, Hippie

: thumbs(and bed  up :

Just back from phase 1 on the install. We did this:

It’s a 25 foot wide co-op video game. I didn’t do the graphics or the programming, I just built the structure that holds it all. And the electronics for the lighting. And the wiring for getting the button inputs into the computer–those lit-up things on the counter are pushbuttons. And built the infinity mirrors.

I’m tired and sore. And apparently, the batteries in my outdoor thermometer need replacing. It claims to be 156 degrees. I don’t believe it.

Too tired to reply much, I’ll be back tomorrow. Stay safe, y’all.

Damn, and I thought my work station was warm. but cool structure!(if I ever win the lottery, I will hire you to build my bar)

Evening all. Got my swimming and sauna in late today and let the U-Boat sammich place (Subway) take care of dinner. Soccer starts tomorrow with me refereeing at 8:15am, then coaching at 11am and refereeing another game at 1pm, so a pretty full day. At least the weather is supposed to be nice.

VanGo, interesting set and who built the BEMs? (Bug Eyed Monsters). And 156 degrees sounds more like a compass heading…stay cool

Wheelie, looking better and better.

Hippy, not a knitting person, but I know good work when I see it and you’re doing great.

OK, off to bed early since I’ll set up for a 6:45am wake-up alarm. All y’all have a good night.

The greenhouse is starting to look like a greenhouse. I got the back wall up. Twice. The instructions called for six pieces S1 to hold the bottoms of the polycarbonate panels. I couldn’t find them. I figured they were the same length as parts 20. Oh, well. Build it without them. Then when I was taking a break, I saw a bag under the parts box. S1s are only six inches long, and plastic. I tried to to disassemble too much, but there was a breeze. I put a ladder behind the wall, and two chairs in front of it. Anyway, got the back wall done. And I built the front wall I temporarily put on the side top-rails for some support, but I ended up using string to tie it to the catio, and one of the chairs bracing the back wall. There are two uprights on each side wall. They don’t go in until after the roof is built. I looked at the instructions, and didn’t see any reason why they couldn’t go in first – especially since the side top-rails had to be secured after the front wall was built. So I put them on. Tomorrow I’ll start the roof.

I’m sorry y’all. I’m running a fever of 101.4. Nothing that I read is sticking in the brain. So I’ll send {{{everyone}}}. These hugs are socially distanced and will be sanitized within an inch of their lives before they get to you.

Now I think I’m gonna sleep.

This is an amazing piece of work

Apologies rejected. Drink lotsa water!

And… I’ve just gone out front to look at the concrete. It looks good. Caution tape is up. The concrete guy also poured cement around the mailbox post, as it was loose and being supported by a cinder block.

He has to come back tomorrow to pick up his framing. He said he and his helper can help me move the greenhouse over to its base if I’ve finished enough of it to do that. I’ll try to get an early start.

Got home, reset my gear for the next trip, had an emergency nappage, then upright again & walked out to a family / sports-bar dinner: roast chix for me, BBQ ribs for her. Plus the usual sides. The first real meal she’s eaten since the Great Gastrointestinal Disaster of last Fri night.

About to hit the hay a bit later than ideal, but earlier than I have been. Desperately need about 3 days’ long smooth sleeps. Here goes!

I thought I would show my little bit of knitting off as well.

Of course, I am humbled by what everyone else is doing!

Sari, that is about the cutest pupper evah! I think he looks like Harold Warren, all serious and concerned as a proper University President should. Also brave/stubborn enough to explore where he shouldn’t go.

I’ve seen a few people fired as well, they really had to work at it. The rules are fairly simple, though. Show up on time, do your best and don’t be a jerk.

I have been in Taiwan and holy cow! I usually covered my eyes when I was in a taxi because the “professional” drivers were just as insane as the rest of the drivers.

:star_struck:

:people_hugging:

WOW! That’s actually starting to look like the picture! Thanks for sharing the pics, I am really interested.

That is just amazing.

Summer is coming…

Yep, this!

Get well soon!

Don’t apologize. Rest, hydrate, medicate, and check in when you’re feeling up to it.

Feel better, Fishy!

And thanks to everyone who’s commented on the Murphy bed construction.
I’m not trying to show off; your encouragement is motivating me to keep pushing forward.

Too much to catch up on. Great to read about, and see, the progress on the different projects. And there’s a picture of a puppy! Squee!

My exciting story: I saw a hedgehog yesterday! My neighbors have said they have seen hedgehogs in our backyard, but we’ve never actually seen them. I was walking home from the bus stop and it was waddling on the sidewalk. It dashed away from me, and hopefully got itself back in the greenery and didn’t get squashed on the road.

Maybe not all that exciting - but at least something different.

Today’s another not-quite-springlike-day, with mixed clouds, sun (I hope) and drizzle. After Thursday’s gorgeous weather, everything is GREEN, so it’s feeling a lot more like spring.

Up, caffeinated, off to heave.

Spot: < walks up to me >
Me: “We could be friends.”
Spot: < stares for 2 minutes >

We enjoy showing off.
