(OLD) The Dessert MMP!

It would still be a disservice to not let him know your expectations. By the way, it seems like this should be its own thread.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. I would simply say “I’d really like to help however I can.” and see what they say. I seriously doubt they’ll be offended.

they are SO beautiful. I LUV the colors. Ours are shades of purple and not nearly as pretty, plus they won’t be in bloom for awhile but the foliage is up.

How about ‘Apricot’? Yay for the new pup being ‘in the family’.

Never give a puppy or a child a name that won’t wear well on an adult. As cute as they are when they’re new, they’re going to be adults far more than they’re going to be itty bitty cuties.

FCM That’s great that an apartment came available for MIL!

My philosophy is “Just because you’re on a diet, doesn’t mean you can’t look at the menu” and I like looking…at toned lads, athletes are generally in pretty gosh darn good shape and when they’re working out, their 6 packs and guns are generally in view. Also, Rafa’s legs are the best looking on the planet.
Hopefully, Her Ladyship ascribes to same philosophy.

Hope you didn’t need your fingers to be uncrossed because hasn’t happened yet. But I’m determined to make it today. Was hardly home yesterday. Got to work early as I needed to meet with one of the guys who starts at 7am (I wasn’t there quite that early) in order to get info needed for the Asst Dept Director. Worked until 12:15 then had 45 minutes at home to make lunch for Hubs & self then took him to PT. Instead of going into the cubicle like I have for the other sessions, I stayed in the waiting room and tried to catch a few zzz’s which I did but was awakened by Hubs NOT USING HIS INDOOR VOICE. And he was in the very far PT cubicle. So, I walked in there and peeked into the curtained off area and said "you’re invited to use your indoor voice because I can hear you all the way out in the waiting room and you are likely disturbing the other people undergoing PT and their PT’s. Everyone was laughing but Hubs did start using indoor voice. He claims that his hearing is fine but I’m pretty sure it’s deteriorated meaning he speaks louder because he doesn’t realize how loud he is speaking. Afterward he asked to be driven to The Taco Hut to get 2 tacos then home. I quickly paid my credit card bill which was due by 7pm CT and it was now 3:30EDT. Then I was quickly off to BFFs. I think I’ve shared that she’s an expediter and I know I shared that she had a very bad fall requiring surgery on her shoulder so her right arm is immobilized. She had gotten an assignment to take a shipment from a broker near the airport to the Target distribution center about 120 miles away near Kazoo. So, she asked me to drive and she would ride along. When we were about 2/3 way there, she received a call from the coordinator who asked if we could take an assignment up in GR to pick up a shipment and bring it to a different broker near the airport. Since we were already on that side of the state, I agreed. So, shoe, I wasn’t too terribly far from you but no time to swing to Musk to get a pie. Everything went very well, although I was getting tired as we left GR so I was going to stop at a McD’s to get a large coffee (I generally don’t drink coffee or other caffienated beverages so when I do, particularly when I’m driving, it has the intended effect); however, there was a FedEx truck in front of me going just the right speed so I let it be the ‘Leader of the Pack’ and I stayed behind all the way to the getoff to AA. I had hoped he was going to go to the FedEx trucking center near Metro Airport, but nope. So, I struggled just a little to keep it together for the next hour but we arrived safely. This was my first time actually driving the Sprinter and I was concerned about backing up to the warehouse doors, but I was able to do so without much problem. So, I didn’t arrive home until 12:30am so no Million Dollar Pasta Casserole yesterday. But I’m determined today.

So far I’ve made ham, egg, cheese, avocado crossaints for Hubs and self, done some internetting and started a load of darks.

Your columbines are gorgeous. Please post more pics!!

The one guy called out, so I was in Irregs instead of Smalls today. Which was fine, because heaving 116lbs Mattress In A BoxTMs is preferable to dumping 40lbs boxes of screws on my foot. Then I got to clean up the usual mess on the 200 slide. OT, anyone? And I stopped at the Likker Sto to grab some rye.

Officer: “I stopped you because your registration has lapsed.”
FCM: “Oh thank Og, I thought it was about the severed heads in the trunk.”

{{{{Oopsie and Bailey}}}}

Afternoon all. Soccer has been coached and refereed and my feet are now comfortably propped up and have all weight off them, a position I plan to remain in for the rest of the afternoon. Was a nice day, started cloudy and 57F but by the end it was 76F and plenty of sunshine.

Oh, and the bird nest inside my front door alcove? We have nestlings! Will get a picture or two up on the Book of Faces sometime in the near future.

Best wishes to Bailey, Oopsie; I imagine that she is still confused about what is going on, but hopefully the appetite will return.

Cat Glove, Not sure I have an indoor or outdoor voice, I do have a ‘subsitute teacher’ voice that I developed 45 years ago and never forgot. And quite the expediting adventure there with BFF.

Cupcakes, I’m with the other posters, just let them know you support him and are willing to help in whatever way you can.

Cookie, glad wife got her prescription, now hoping it can get filled.

Happy birthday, Nelson!!

Fascinating stories you have, Pilot; I spent a night in Lima, Peru airport due to plane issues and another in Quito due to fog and the pilots timing out. Enjoy dinner at home.

You need to try harder!! :upside_down_face: :astonished:

shoe, never have owned ferrets, but enjoyed your stories about them.

OK, need to check on a couple things and post pics on Facebook, so take care all.

Home. We pulled wires from the lower nav station thru the engine room and the aft head and under the aft berth into the lazarette (Doesn’t that sound yachty as hell??) Somewhere in the aft cabin, FCD lost his tweaker screwdriver, dammit. I tore everything apart and couldn’t find it, so we’ll buy a replacement and then it’ll show up.

Afterwards, we went to see MIL - she’s already packing and making a pile of stuff to get rid of - stuff we could have left in Ocala… Oh well. We have a plan for the move - just waiting for the lease papers to be signed.

Meanwhile, the rest of today is for chillage, because I don’t feel like doing anything. I woke around 0330 and I’s tahred. I did scoop the cat box and empty/refill the dishwasher, and I replaced the bathroom towels, so some choreage was accomplished.

Now, it’s recliner time!!!

Howdy Y’all! :notes:It’s a rainy late afternoon in Jawja. :notes: We have slothed, napped, day drank, and supped. Now it’s time for Netflix and chill. Plus later there will be lemon pie. I made it myself. OK, I used a Sto’ bought graham cracker crust. Don’t Judge!

Did you have meringue or whipped cream on it? My particular failing as a baker is that I don’t do meringue very well.

hoping you are feeling better soonest! Did you take aspirin? Did you use a cold pack or cold washcloth? Are you drinking a lot of fluids? Chicken noodle soup?

{{{Oopsie & Bailey}}} I think she’ll be good as new soon.

She wasn’t ready to ‘move on’ from the stuff meaning old life that was spent with FIL when they moved up to Merryland. She’s ready now.

Time to stop procrastinating and make dinner.

Well, here it is (2 pics).

I still need to get some clear silicone to seal around all of the panels; buy some eye bolts, eye screws, cables, turnbuckles, and clamps so I can tie down the corners against storms (the eye screws will go where the pavers are in the pics – I used the pavers for spacing); and maybe put a couple of rows of pavers inside, and outside the door.

Looks great!

flyboy I know the pad has just been put down, but do you know how drainage will be on it? Maybe a course of pavers as a walkway around the inside. I’ve got a buddy with a raised-bed garden that has drainage walkway issues. Also, it looks great! nice job.

The Bed Portion of the Murphy Project is complete!

It took a good bit of effort to attach those front panels (in yesterday’s photo they’re just hanging on the frame) - 40 screws (!), and not all the holes lined up, so I had to make some of my own.
The slats were extremely easy to put on.
That one horizontal strip of wood at the very bottom? A total b*tch. Possibly the single most difficult piece to attach of the entire project so far. Go figure.
Side cabinets will go up next week.

The rest of today is for sloth. Mrs W is making a caprese salad and pasta for dinner, and we’ll open a nice wine.

It’s currently 97° outside; we haven’t stepped outside the house all day. Tomorrow’s supposed to be 99; might be a good day to go swimmin’ down at the clubhouse for the first time.

Wow! The builds look amazing. The greenhouse is lovely, and the Murphy bed looks comfy.

Nice bed!

CupCakes as I am extremely slothful and terminally lazy, I did not use any kind of toppin’. However a generous glop of Redi Whip was spritzed on prior to consumption, cause Redi Whip.

FlyBoy and Wheelie I am impressed with your projects and your mad put stuff together skilz. I would have used many words I did not learn in Sunday school.

Nice looking bed there wheelie! Now you have me considering a Murphy bed in my next home.

Got the scrips picked up, plants bought and potted, last load of laundry done and a trip to Bark in the 'Boro with Nelson made. Now, I’s tah-red. Much as I enjoy hosting Sis and BIL, it’s good to have my home back.
