(Old) Things ya gotta 'splain in the MMP

Oh dear, I do hope he recovers quickly and painlessly.

Oh gosh, that would have given me such a sugar rush I would have been cleaning the ceiling fans!

Our fuzzbutts agree. Choices are important!

I still miss real Mexican food.

I just covered our tomatoes because its going to get stoopid cold here too. Hubs moved the lemon tree and the dahlia into the water heater shed for the night and it looks like we will be doing this for the rest of the week. Mother Nature is being a bit of a bitch lately.

So its too late for me to get to everyone, but I really did read and react to everything.

The sad news in this neighborhood is the untimely loss of Harry’s lawnmower. He claims it is untimely because it is only six years old, I think that his mower gets more use in a week than a cemetery groundkeeper’s mower so its not surprising that it just wore out.

Happily, new mowers are on sale for the spring, so Harry borrowed our trailer and went to Lowe’s and got another one.

Harry also planted a tree about 20 feet from our bedroom window. (his side of the fence) Well, that’s not really correct. A couple of his teenaged grands carried a post hole shovel and the tree to the spot, Harry pointed and supervised and the tree went into the ground. I’m really happy about it and need to bake him some more chocolate crinkle cookies tomorrow.

I also have a date for my shoulder surgery and am having second thoughts. Six weeks in a sling is going to be really hard and I might want to kick the can down the road for a few years just because I’m a weenie.

It’s not going to happen until June, I have lots of time to change my mind.

{{{{Nut}}}}

At first glance, that said “badgers”…

I napped. Now I’m up, having a Jungle Bird, baked fried chicken with Cajun seasoned potatoes, and cheesy broccoli.

Oooo! Roomie loves pins.

{{{{Nut and parents}}}}

Mexican Firing Squad! Plus Mexican beer.

The Dude :backhand_index_pointing_down:VanGo
“I fucking hate The Eagles, man.”

No, do it. Roomie’s shoulder surgerys improved her quality of life 110%. Besides, you need working shoulders to thwack evildoers with your cane.

[Treasure Of The Sierra Madre]We don’t need no stinkin’ badgers![/Treasure Of The Sierra Madre]

True - And I’m done hiding, so maybe easy to quickly wash off isn’t the priority it once was.

{{{Nut}}} - I’ll keep your father in my thoughts.

This one gets my vote:

JtC - Don’t put off the surgery. It may be six weeks in a sling now, but who knows how long to recover in the future? None of us are getting any younger.

You all are too silly.

The result of years of experience!

And the gods laughed.

I was supposed to be home roughly two hours ago, but { things happened }.

Was looking forward to being home before sunset, but I watched the sunset while making pizzas & now Monkey is wandering the darkness in his glow-in-the-dark jacket.

This phrase 1a.) would make no sense to someone twenty years ago, and 2b.) absolutely cracked me up.

There is now a glow-in-the-dark cat fussing in my lap. I’m guessing someone cleared out his kibble bowl, and is kissing ass being oh-so-sweet … jeebus, dude, you’re not starving, I promise.

Or tattoos?

Let me know when the secret decoder ring becomes available.

Or a secret handshake, like the Masons have. The final motion of the secret Team Mollie handshake can be a flick of the wrist in front of your eye as if applying mascara.

Well, did make it to the gym, the 3 weeks of travel and eating gained me about 7 lbs, which isn’t too bad, we’ll see if I can get it worked off next week. Managed not to nap today, so hopefully a good night’s sleep will have my internal clock completely reset by tomorrow. Cool day but no rain, so besides shopping I may do mowage on Firday.

And rolling through the 30 messages posted today…

Taters, sounds like your homecoming was a nice one, too.

FCM, tomorrow will be my big shopping day (get 4x Bonus fuel points on Friday and the cupboard is pretty bare) and will be well over $100..how much over is likely to get scary…hope the water leak is easy to diagnose and fix (says the guy who knows about water leaks, hopefully in the past tense…).

Cookie , Sadie looks pretty content there.

No vitamins but I did eat a protein bar this evening.

doggio, enjoy your Pennsylvania beer, sounds like you deserve it.

swampy, glad my GC menu (except I usually get rice instead of N.O.T.) met with your approval.

VanGo, may you get everything done in 39.9 hours…maybe the meeting can be moved/rescheduled…

red, sounds like your really enjoying your retirement.

JtC, I mow about once a week in the summer, every two weeks early and late in the season, my mower is now 5 years old and had a checkup last year, so it should be good for awhile yet. And my advice is to get the shoulder done now, yeah, it’ll be a pain, but it won’t be any better recurperating when you’re older.

And weariness has crept up and hit me with a blackjack upside the head, so need to make a last bathroom call and head off to Slumberland. Catch y’all tomorrow.

Patches. The light blue, pink and white one. Or I’ll have Sis whip up some of her trans pride beaded memory wire bracelets.

Wait, you’re supposed to flick your wrist when applying mascara? I thought you were supposed to hold very still and try not to blink, but still blink and make black streaks all around your eyes?

I love you all’s support, but I know I don’t deserve it. (Stupid imposter syndrome)

I was looking at my toes just now, and getting tired of having beige, boring colored toes. I want bold toes. I’m tired of hiding.

Yesterday, during my session, we discussed the parts of me that helped me make it this far. She mentioned the part that gave my feminine side "The Heisman" wasn’t a weakness, but rather was a protector.

Presenting yesterday made me want more.

Also, going through my MMP posts have been fun and a bit cathartic.

IIUIC, I need six months with my counselor before I can get The Letter. I want it now.

Must like the protagonist in the Queen song, I want it all, and I want it now.

:light_blue_heart::light_blue_heart: :pink_heart::pink_heart: :white_heart::pink_heart::pink_heart::light_blue_heart::light_blue_heart:

What kind of tree? I hope it will have flowers.

In my first year of grad school the 2 other set designers insisted on painting my toenails green and pink. We got up to some oddness in the studio late at night. I loved it. Partly cuz they were 2 cute women, (all three of us were in committed relationships, so no ulterior motives) and partly cuz it just looked good.

If I found & quietly wore a kerchief in these colors, would it offend Mollie and her tribe of people?

I genuinely don’t know.

Oh, I’ll ask the source!@Maus_Magill I’m not one of your tribe, just a supporter. If you saw someone wearing those colors, who was otherwise very cis-het, how would you feel?

(I got a coupla blue-yellow sunflower kerchiefs that are extremely pro-Ukraine, if you know what you’re looking at. If not: “Oh, what pretty flowers!” “Thanks.”)

Thanks for the heads up, Swampy! I did not know, and would likely be blindsided.

The place across the street from us, that used to be the Hellhole BBQ thievery uh, yeah … I rambled here years ago .. anyway, they’re now owned by a rather decent Mexican joint. With tamales even, which I never thought I’d see again after getting outta Tx.

Guess they’re gonna be packed!

Up, caffeinated and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s 53 degrees Ferret Height(11.667 Centipedes)

Plumbing question: After a bout of constipation, my toilet wouldn’t flush properly. It drained, but no actual flushing. I worked at it with a plunger (and further attempts, since it was draining) with no success. All of a sudden, it flushes again. But I’ve noticed that the bowl seems to fill with more water than before, and the flush seems to be faster (I’m not certain about this part).

I don’t have any cause to do more than monitor for the next week or two, do I?

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 13c/56f with a predicted high of 19c/66f and mostly sunny. Weather app says “Not sure what I was fucking going to say here. My mind is fucking blank.”

I’m not a whisky drinker, but I do sometimes have to remind people that my cup has tea in it and not gin. Yet.

Fingers and toes crossed here too, I hope everything is ok.

Mollie I completely forgot to say that you’re welcome to add in any of my comments etc to your journal as long as you make it clear that I’m really just a harmless little barmpot.

You do have time to think about it, and you might want to leave it for a few years but in that few years, how much worse will your shoulder get? Will that mean a longer recovery time? Might just be better to take the hit at 6 weeks in a sling now, instead of something longer and more difficult further down the line.

Stop that! Right now!

Yesterday was a busy day and not all that productive, but I managed to get through a couple of meetings and also sort some stuff in the new office. We have a fridge (yay!) so I’ve got somewhere to keep the milk for my tea.

Today I have nothing in my calendar but of course someone in senior management has sent something round that absolutely has to be done today, so that will be top of the list of stuff to get done. No plans for tonight, we’re having homemade burgers and chips for dinner as that’s what 'im indoors has decreed, and we’ll watch a film before I head off to bed. It’s a busy weekend so a quiet and reasonably early night is required.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 64 Amurrkin out and drizzly with a predicted high of 71 and cloudy, with rain beginnin’ around six p.m. I must take of candle and other duties over to the church house this mornin’. Then we shall sloth about until time to fix sup, which will be burgers 'n fries. GMTA BooFae!

JtC count me in with the don’t delay the surgery group. Six weeks in a sling sounds like a lot, but you will have to do it whether or not you go ahead in June or delay it, so might as well get it over and done with. Besides, like with the cataract surgery, when it’s all done and you are healed, you will be so glad you went ahead.

Mollie you do deserve all of our support. Stop that nonsense right now! We will be beside you (metaphorically) throughout the whole process.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I must purtify and don acceptable attire. Fortunately since I will most likely be by myself, shorts, tshirt and sneaks will be appropriate.

Happy Firday Y’all!

The day has started at 41 stoopit Ferrets! It’s May, dammit! At least we’re promised sun and mid-60s this afternoon. Then a chilly weekend followed by more May-like temps come Moanday. We’ll delay our departure for the boat till things warm a wee bit. Nobody wants to be playing in water with temps in the 40s.

But never behind the wheel while driving. In my foolish youth, I was known to push occasionally on when a hotel stop would have been wiser. No more. Young can be so dumb sometimes!

I’ve had David Cassidy (as part of the Partridge Family) singing I Think I Love You in my brain for days. I blame FCD and his preference for the 70s channel on SiriusXM. Could be worse - once years ago, the theme song from Two and a Half Men wormed its way in there and wouldn’t leave…

NO!! Get it over with!! It won’t get any easier later. Just get it out of the way, dammit. Don’t make me give you The Look!! (I see everyone else agrees - you’ve been outvoted. Case closed!)

FCD knows where it is - the how-to-fix is still under rumination. He gets an idea in his head, then when he tells me what’s going on, I may say something that gets him re-ruminating. Sometimes his first thought is the right way, but sometimes he gets tunnel vision and doesn’t see better alternatives. It’s all part of his charm.

Tobias loves having each of his nails in a different color. Lucky for him, Daughter has lots of colors, so the boy can live the dream!!

OK, on to finish my morning reads before hitting the shower. Laundry will be accomplished later today. Hope the boat chores will be short and sweet. (HAH!!)

Happy Firday!
