(Old) Thwarted Plans in the MMP

Did all of the avatars just change to circles (vs squares), or is it just me/the theme I’m using??

We finished the last jigsaw puzzle and started a new one. This one is a bunch of restaurant logos. The Mc D’s sign is really old, with the Speedee Service mascot instead of the arches. My niece is in town for a couple of days. She’s gonna take Mrs. Nott out to breakfast, but I had to bag out, on account of still being sick.

Pope Leo from Chicago is still on top of the news pile. Whatsizname ran a Chinese tariff reduction up the flagpole in a headline-grabbing desperation, but Leo is still on top.

Be You. Nobody else knows how.

Very yummy meatloaf for supper tonight. Yeah, we ate early. We’re retired - it’s expected!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s starting to spit rain, and from the looks of the radar, that’s all we’re going to get. So much for t-boomers today.

Much as I hate to do it, I may have to go to the Mart of Wal - Food Lion, for some reason, hasn’t had low-fat cottage cheese for weeks and I want some. So I may brave the place tomorrow. Maybe if I go early enough, I’ll get there before all the crazies.

Meanwhile, tonight is for chillage.

nellie Cinnamon was a boy doggie, and yes he was called “Cin” often, but mostly “Miniman” or “Dude.”

Nice day at the museum, changed the water in 2 out of 3 of our kids are filthy indicator exhibits. We need to change the water twice a week when busy, and it is a 45 minute+ process, so I showed up early to do it. Then I got to go to the off site warehouse/shop and build some things. I like it when I can just do the work and not do meetings.

Well, I suppose one could possibly source that. Apparently, the snerk didn’t appear.

I’m not oopsie, but I used a stencil. I don’t often used them, but sometimes they can be a lot of fun. It was among the new to me tools that I was playing with. I picked them up on Marketplace a while back. The stencil and the text were partof the same set of Ranger dylusions.

Dinner and dessert?

Wow! I realize that there are two of you, but I was miffed when I had to increase my monthly grocery budget to $260.

There are some things that I’m better at than others and it shows. One of my former supes volunteered me to carve the departmental pumpkin one year, because, you know, I’m crafty and all. I suck at carving pumpkins. If your upholstery passes muster for you and is functional, that’s all that matters.

Sis knew that Nelson’s grandfather, Napoleon’s hearing was shot when he could no longer hear the other dogs’ tags clinking on the metal dog dishes and come running. Skritches to Bailey.

Was she stationed at Fort Campbell? Did she serve at Blanchfield or was she in a mobile unit?

You’d fit right in at the dog park.

I managed to get the bed remade, folded the towels, shopped for groceries and even worked a trip to the dog park in with Nelson. Now, I’m relaxing with a salad and a quick wrap for supper. After that, I’m starting SIL’s birthday card set (I make her a themed set for her birthday every year). This year’s theme is the beach.

Sis and BIL will be in tomorrow night for one night before continuing up to Dad’s. They’ll have all four of their dogs with them, so it will be tight quarters. While Nelson’s father and auntie are regular visitors, the other two don’t travel nearly as often (Nelson’s little brother / cousin hates collars and harnesses), so the two of them may sleep in the crate (big enough for both of them and they’re regular bunkmates).

Howdy Y’all! As foretold, except for sup prep, today has been a day of high RDOS inactivities. Right now it’s rainin’ and there are thunder booms in the distance. Looks like a rainy three to four days ahead. Fine by me. I hope it gets stormy durin’ the night. That makes for great sleep time.

We made hunch punch durin’ my misspent youth. It consisted of rum (we had class), vodka, Hawaiian punch (hence the punch part), and ice. Like hippie there was a dedicated trash can for mixin’. We ladled it into pitchers cause we were also couth. The hunch part was so named because if’n one drank too much, one would need to hunch over the terlet. Again we were all about the class and couth.

When I was in Boy Scouts we had something called
“Kickapoo Joy Juice” which was a mixture of various kinds of soda and…alka seltzer for an added kick. In college in Florida we went on late night raids on a local orange orchard (dodging the peacock watchbirds), squeezed them into a cooler and added everclear. Just tasted like o.j. (Until you stood up)

T

She had her flight training at Fort Rucker. I don’t know where else she was stationed in the U.S. She was in South Korea near the DMZ, and she was in Iraq during Operation Desert Storm.

It’s amazing! When FCD and I make the bed together, it only takes about 7 minutes. On my own, closer to 20 minutes. Go figure.

Hunh, usually it’s the other way around.

I went to an outdoor revival. It was exactly what I needed to hear.
I feel sorry for my fellow apt dwellers. So many of them are unhappy, some even cut.
The Holy Spirit is all I need to be happy.
They also had what they call walking tacos.
Heh, dorito salad ( in the bag) but unlike mine, they have lettuce sour cream and meat.

Evening all. Swimming and weightlifting are completed and soccer game was refereed successfully (well, nobody yelled at me so I consider it a success) and Brother wished a Happy Birthday. Turns out they are down in Austin, Texas visiting my niece, and my Sis-in-Law got a detached retina that needed immediate surgery so they are stuck down there for awhile. She’s doing well and they’re in a VBRO house for May while my nephews look after their dogs, hopefully they will be home by 3-4 June. Have finished my bowl of Salad along with some pudding cups so stomach is doing fine.

And engaging scroll mode…

Taters, the town I live in here in N. Ali-bama had about 24,000 residents when I moved here in 1997, i now has about 58,000 and is still growing, as is the county and city areas around it. Development (and the shops/restaurants that come along with it) has made traffic a nightmare during rush hours. Happy planting!

coach, hope mama Opossum found baby before anything else did.

FCM, Hooray on the cushions being done and laundry washed.

nellie, dogs can get real attached to people…or very antagonistic towards them…it’s a canine thing… And good luck with the mask.

Oopsie, glad you could get out of the house and enjoy yourself.

flyboy, nice of you to get that stuff for the Missus.

Pardon me, what?

red, enjoy the canine invasion. Oh, and the accompanying humans too…

Coppertone, glad you are keeping your optomism.

And need to check on the rest of the internet, hopefully back before bedtime.

Recital went great. Been teaching both of them for four years, and now I’m sad. She’s around for the summer, and he’s here for at least a year, so hopefully we’ll be able to do some private lessons.

Now home and drinking wine to drown my sorrows.

My politically-apathetic wife started turning around the first time Trump was elected. Tonight she made a sign for the cross-border handshake event tomorrow. (It says ‘WE  CANADA’.)

TLTE: ‘formerly politically apathetic’.

It really was. This morning there were only 4 strawberries left so I made French toast for breakfast, cut up the strawberries and put them along with blueberries on top of the French toast. Was Yum! Hubs approved.

Van Go glad the vehicle is operational again!

rocky loved your story about the young man who will be going to juilliard.

Omgosh, omgosh, omgosh, Just got home a short while ago (8:15pm) and after Hubs rebandaged my stitched upper arm, I noticed the mail. And I received the cutest card and 2 bookmarks. Thank you Very much red! I love everything. I just started reading a new book, one of Hilary’s, so now I have a bookmark for it. I really like the one with the flowers and the green since I love flowers and of course, we Spartans love green. And my favorite color is turquoise/teal since they’re really similar, just one has a little more green in it so I love the one that is sort of turquoise/teal with the gold! And the intricate work on the card; wow, you are so talented!

ok, so why were we gone today. Well, after breakfast we went Krogering, but that took the shortest amount of time that we’ve spent in a Kroger in a long time, very short grocery list. Then home for a while during which I did a load of sheets and pillowcases and heated the leftover minestrone soup from yesterday and made grilled ham & cheese sandwiches. Extra sharp cheddar and muenster cheese on mine; mild cheddar and swiss on Hubs. Then we were off to our Daughter’s. Aack, she was supposed to be to her Drs office at 2:45 and while we left at 1:54, there was an accident on the expressway so we ended up getting to her house about 2:38. Hubs jumped out of the car and Bella bounded out of the house to greet him while Daughter hustled into the car. She was pretty nervous and quite hungry and dehydrated since she was not allowed to eat or drink ANYTHING after midnight last night so she wasn’t thinking clearly. She gave me directions to the Drs office and it turned out, she was off by 2 miles. It was on a different street than she said. However, on the way we went by the street that Hubs lived on while he was about 5-12, then we went by the apartment building that Hubs and I lived in when we got married until we bought our current house. She’d never been past either before. So, I got her to the Drs office about 2:54, not too very terribly late. She had an endoscopy procedure. Afterwards her lips were so very chapped from dehydration and she drank two bottles of water in recovery. We didn’t get out of the Drs office until sometime after 5pm.
When we returned to her house, we ordered Mexican and I went to pick it up. She was pretty tired so after loading a wire plant rack that she’s selling to my BF, we headed home.

I wear shirts from REI with UPF 50 embedded with zinc that won’t wash out. Here’s one that is on sale: SPF50 shirt from REI But feel free to browse the REI website.

You are so welcome! And it sounds like you selected a good book to christen it with.

We have 3 water based exhibits that let the kids play and hopefully learn things. The result of this is that kids play in water. It gets gross. I don’t quite know how they do it. Children are uniquely adept at spreading, let’s call it gunk. Drop a cookie into the water?

I am off to my first full weekend with no work in, I dunno how long. Need to mow the lawn, but it’s a swamp, been raining here for over a week.

We were short a closer tonight, so Long Night became a looooooong night. Can’t remember the last time I got out that friggin’ late.

I’ve already brushed my teeth and am yawning in bed.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.
