(Old) Time Is On My Side (?) - A Daylight Savings MMP

Howdy Y’all! We’ve been back at da cave from the church house doin’s for a bit. We did Evening Prayer followed by an excellent sup of lasagna, sallit, rolls and Boston cream pie. We procured and stowed provisions this mornin. Any need to feed the next two days will be via forage or takeout. The next three days will be devoted to readyin’ food for the biiiiiig St. Patrick’s feast Sattidy evenin’. Then there will be big eats. I am very food centric tonight apparently.

Knotty happy Doperversary! Glad y’all didn’t get blown away.

Taters so sorry about your former co-irker. Hope you can get an earlier appointment.

MOOOOOM yay for the Lionel trains! I hope RoxStar and the Tobester like them.

Jonesy puttin’ sugar on grits at three a.m. in Waffle House would start a brawl. At other times of the day people would go up to the heathen and say, “Well bless your heart! Does your momma know you do that?” Fart blossoms are that most satanic of veggies Brussels Sprouts.

Pavo most excellent news re wife’s follow-up!

JtC that sucks about the passport. However, I bet they don’t reckon about folks like you who won’t sit down and shut up.

MetalMouse perhaps you should have paid a few more bucks to upgrade to the twenty-first century.

And now this…

Good.

I do

Back from the gym and enough calories burned away that I don’t feel guilt about a bowl of Utz Cheese Balls for a late-night snack. But its after 10pm and Slumberland is beckoning, since the plumbers (and their jackhammer to drill through floor and slab) should be here early. Hopefully it’ll be a one-day job and then I only have to replace the overhead fan/light in the great room and get the kitchen tile they drill through replaced and things will be good as new…until the next problem (my backyard fence is looking pretty seedy…). Suddenly apartment living doesn’t sound all that bad…

And off to bed. Catch up with y’all tomorrow.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s currently 73 degrees Ferret Height(22.778 Centipedes) outside. The forecast low for today is 30 Ferret Height.

Happy birthday, Mollie!

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 8c/47f with a predicted high of 12c/54f and cloudy. Weather app says “It could be fucking warmer outside, but you could also have more slugs in your shower. Count your fucking blessings.”

I’m glad you kept yourselves safe, I can imagine it was a worrying time.

Awww….that’s really kind of her, she really is a keeper

Taters I’m sorry to hear about your friend, that must have been an awful shock for you. Take care of yourself too, please!

Poor Nelson, he looks so badly treated in that pic

That is such a lovely tale too, Harry was wise to have befriended such a clever bird.

It doesn’t show up as blurred for me. I am sorry Kegstand is blocking your passport, he needs a serious boot up his arse. Also, this song always makes me think of you.

That’s wonderful news!

Yesterday was a busy meeting day at irk, didn’t get much really work done but at least I was there. Came home, tended to the needs of cats, had dinner and went to the pub with a couple of friends. I was in bed before midnight although it wasn’t a great night as I woke up in the early hours feeling unwell. I can’t say exactly what it was, not quite stomach ache but I felt really uncomfortable (rather than real “pain”). I was awake for at least a couple of hours before I managed to get back to sleep.

I’m glad to be working at home today as I had a bit of a lie-in. Now I’m up, cats are fed, litter trays are clean, and I’ve had a cup of tea. It should be a fairly quiet irk day, and then I’m off for a session at the gym with the lovely Amrit. I need another cup of tea to fortify myself before I have to delve into the murky depths of staff reviews again.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 70 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 71 with rain this mornin’ and sunny and windy this afternoon. The overnight low will be 47 ferrets. Temps will be decidedly cooler over the next few days. Cookin’ for the big St. Patrick’s feast begins at eleven this mornin’. The corned beasts will be made today. I am chef de cuisine for that. Tomorrow will be veggie prep. Rutabagas (sorry about that GenJ), carrots and N.O.T. will be cooked. Also the corned beasts will be sliced. Sattidy will involve cookin’ cabbages and the N.O.T. will be sliced and fried on the griddle. Everything else gets warmed up and the feast starts at five-thirty p.m. There will also be fried chikin from the Burly Butcher Sto’ that is near the church house. In case I have never mentioned it, Burly Butcher has expanded his sto’s over the years. The one near da cave is the original and now there are three others.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I shall purtify. Fortunately jeans and a Tshirt will suffice for appropriate attire. I shall also engage in RDOS sloth for a couple of hours before I need to leave da cave.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Same hereabouts. We’re starting at 68 Ferrets, but temps will drop as the day goes along and accuweather says we might see snowflakes this afternoon!!! Rain is promised late this morning and thru the afternoon, unless it turns to snow. Dammit.

Thanks to the stoopit weather, I shan’t be raking today. I will run to the Food Lion in Charlotte Hall to see if they have the root beer that’s on sale - the Leonardtown store had sold out - they don’t keep much in stock anyway. Not sure if I need anything else, food-wise.

The rest of the day will likely be spend sewing. I’m going to make a proper cover for the forward hatch. The one on there now was experimental using crappy old fabric, since I wasn’t certain it would work. Now that I know, I can use the good fabric, so that’s today’s big plan.

Last night, FCD was showing me pictures and drawings of different variations on our boat. While the hull and some other parts remained essentially the same, interior layouts changed over the years. At least one of the drawings offered a solution to an issue I have with the dining table, so that was good. And there was another that seemed to solve the helm seat that FCD has been rasslin’ with. It was interesting to see the evolution and I wish we had the model that’s 10 years newer than ours. Oh well…

Daughter arrived in Akron safely yesterday evening. She and her bestie there will be driving to Indianapolis today for a conference, and maybe they’ll stop and visit FCD’s aunt and uncle. I’ll have the grandspawn on Sunday while SIL works and Daughter will get them on her way home.

I won’t go into details, but FCD cut two if his fingers on the table saw yesterday. No digits were lost, but there was much bleeding and I had to brace myself to help him bandage it all up. (I don’t handle bloody boo-boos well.) I don’t know how it happened, but I hope he pays more attention in the future. He knows better, but sometimes he thinks safety equipment is a personal insult. smh

OK, on to the rest of my morning surfage before the fun begins.

Happy Thursday!

Happy Birthday Mollie!

I have two unfinished projects, one of which is pretty close to done. I plan to knock that out. As far as a 2026 BOM class, I don’t have one. None of classes interest me but I saw one hanging at my usual fabric store and bought the kit:

What do you do with your completed projects? Gift them? Rotate thru them on your beds? Hang them on your walls like medieval tapestries?

If I didn’t have the hospice group to donate my knitting and crocheting to, I honestly don’t know what I’d do. Everyone in the family has multiple afghans.

Temp dropped 8 ferrets in the first hour I was awake. It’s quite windy. I’m going to shower and run my errands before it gets too much colder.

Morning. Up bright (well, just before sunrise) and early (that’s for sure). Have broken fast and will await the arrival of the plumbing folks, I hope they can get it all done in one day (this ain’t my first rodeo so I know how long it should take). Rain is gone but still looks pretty soggy outside, so soccer tonight is still in doubt. Temperature is way down here as with other Mumpers (41F now heading to 56F) and while it’ll warm up for the weekend, some more rain Sunday night will cool us off again). Ah, the joys of early spring…

boo fae, hope you’re feeling better today.

swampy, sounds like a fine St. Paddy’s Day dining experience.

FCM, happy hatch-covering! And hope FCD is more cautious in the future so all those digits he has remain where they belong.

Hippie, enjoy your next project, it looks nice.

And onward into the day. Have a good one all.

Heat is working.

I only have two complete projects. The first one is the one I wrap up in when it is chilly in the house or when I am napping. The latest one will be our bedspread. The quilt we have been using is her first and is showing its age.

I am pretty sure I have posted a picture of project 1 here before, but just in case:

This is hand sewn using the English Paper Piecing method

I did my Rock Steady Boxing workout thing yesterday, so I’m rightfully sore. Today, we go to Mishawaka for my allergy shot. Breakfast is ready.

a windy rainy day in philly. a bit of storms last night. nothing major, the energy had lessened by the time they got to us. we might get a bit of snow this afternoon. march be crazy.

huzzah on the heat, suntan lotion.

Yikes! I hope that he heals quickly. My dad always had nicked fingers from various saws over the years.

Pretty!

Brrrrrr! It was only 49F when I walked Nelson this morning. We both jacketed up. Sis will be here today for our day out. After, I’ll play around in the studio.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

This is the week of 5 injections. Tuesday was Dupixent, yesterday was Zepbound, today is THREE allergy shots. Then I see the ortho PA to discuss the results of the ankle MRI. Have I reached the age where life becomes nothing but a series of doctor appointments?

Good morning.

It’s 42F, dark, and soggy outside. Rain will continue off and on throughout the day with a high of 43F. It rained ALL day yesterday and continued overnight. The daytime rain was heavy, and my backyard was filled with puddles on the dogs’ side. By late afternoon, big wind gusts picked up, and a couple of hours later, the wind was roaring through here. Branches are down everywhere in my yard, and, according to the news, many areas are without power. I, fortunately, still have power.

Happy belated birthday wishes, Mollie.

Pavo, I’m happy to read that your wife’s recovery went well, and congrats on the new wheels.

JtC, I would be angry and frustrated, too. I hope the lawyer can help speed things up. I remember the story about the raven trying to tell everyone about Harry’s fall. What an amazing bird.

Since yesterday was so soggy, I opted not to go out in it. Normally, the rain doesn’t bother me that much, but yesterday’s rain was heavy, the sky was dark, and it was a good day to relax and watch the rain come down.

I suppose I shall have to venture forth today; I need to get the pups’ allergy meds refilled, and I still need a new phone. That’s about all the excitement for today. Otherwise, it’s the usual kitchen tidying, sweeping, etc.

You all take care of yourselves.

Good Morning, all. It was about 40ºF and cloudy this morning. We did our 3.5 miles before seeing Mrs Magill’s parents off. They’re heading to Ft Hood to see Fang. I think he’ll be happy to see them. He hasn’t gotten to know his neighbors, as they’re mostly enlisted and NCOs, and he doesn’t want to get in trouble for fraternizing.

Fang is enjoying his new position. He is the Logistics Auditor for the 518th MIB (Military Intelligence Brigade). “Now I am become auditor, destroyer of dreams.” His maniacal laughter is starting to make me nervous.

Thank you, everyone, for the birthday wishes. I usually dread my birthday. I hate being the center of attention. This year was different. I think using the MMP as a sounding board has helped that. Thank you, all.

My gaming group is getting together tonight. I think we’re going to play Andromeda.

Tomorrow, Mrs Magill and I will head to the mountains with my sister for our birthdays. It’ll be nice to get away. I’m hoping the weather will be nice enough to get out to the Linville Gorge for a little hiking.

Good to hear!

Metalmouse - I would like Lay’s mor, it they were cooked just a wee bit longer. An extra ten seconds in the fry would do them wonders. Wise are cooked long enough and have a lot of salt. Yum!

Brussels Sprouts are good, as long as they’re slathered in bacon fat and roasted.

Yes. Yes, she is.

Table saws don’t mess around. My brother used to be a carpenter, then he got a little lax around the table saw. I call him Frodo now. It’s a damned shame. He used to make some really nice cutting boards.
