(Old) Time Is On My Side (?) - A Daylight Savings MMP

Can I please split the weather difference with @FairyChatMom or someone else in an area that’s colder than they like? We’re due for highs in the 80s (Fahrenheit) this week and crowding 90F next week. It’s too early in the year for this.

This is a test of posting a picture. PITA

Barn cat Cheeto….

Cheeto looks a bit like my Buddy.

Cheeto is a girl kitty. She showed up as a stray, not spayed of course. Quickly found herself in the family way (there are/were untrappable toms who occasionally showed up at the barn). She had 5 kittens that were adopted by barn people. She was spayed after weaning and now she’s the queen of the barn. She loves everybody and everybody loves her.

She sounds great. Please give her an extra cuddle from me if she’ll accept it.

About an hour ago, the snow stopped and the sun came out. Drippage and meltage is underway. As is dishwashing. And the day winds down.

The wonderful snow turned to wintry mix when I left the office. The shuttle was running very late. 5 minutes after I get home the sun is out. Wild weather day.

Yesterday I had the fan on in the flat, today the heater.

A little blowing snow here, but doesn’t look like it’ll stick around too long. Yesterday was in the 70s. I’ll echo FCM, stooopit weather.

Cheeto looks like a sweety.

Yay…tomorrow I get to take time off from work to meet the internet guy and try to figure out why my signal keeps dropping. I just got a new modem about a year and a half ago. Curious if the rats with fluffy tails have been gnawing on the wire, or climbing it.

Follow-up went as expected. The cardiologist just looked at her chart and said “you don’t need me anymore”. Her blood pressure was normal both today and yesterday. She is on meds, but we’re wondering if her fibroids were playing a part in that.

I’m having dinner and a couple of beers at a local micro-brewery. The end of spring break is approaching depressingly fast.

Howdy Y’all! Corned beast got cooked, wrapped in foil and put in the church house fridge. I stopped on the way back to da cave and got us stoner food for an early sup. Now it’s time to go stare at Netflix and eat the Outrageous candy bars I stopped at the sto’ and bought on my way to get stoner food. I bought candy durin’ Lent. Well I didn’t get to achieve nappage today, so I deserve a treat for all that sacrifice. BTW each of us has a candy bar. I wanted to clarify that I am not that much of a glutton.

Coppertone huzzah for heat that works!

WetOne when makin’ plans, so many of my conversations start with, “well, I have a doc appointment on such and such a day” that it ain’t even funny!

Mollie how has bacon fat offended you so much that you punish it by slatherin’ it on fart blossoms?

MOOOOOOM poor Otis! He deserved that cookie and a whole lot more.

Lucky does the cheese yell at and taunt you every time you open the fridge door? Does it insult everything else on the Charcuterie board?

MetalMouse may the expensive fix be the end of your plumbin’ woes.

GenJ sorry you didn’t get to have your pretentious coffee and gossipfest.

FlyBoy conga rats on the new gig! That didn’t take long at all!

If you have a hankerin’ for ice cream that won’t jack up your sugar and tastes delicious, try Kroger house brand NSA ice cream. It’s yummy!

When I buy herbs at the grocery (and without a patio [no, I don’t do houseplants], that’s what I have to do if Sis isn’t growing that particular kind), what I don’t use for the recipe, I put on a linen kitchen towel and let them dry for the spice rack.

Conga-rats! May you do well and like your job.

I use Flickr. From the desktop, it’s pretty easy using the instructions that I gave to JtC the other day. If you have wherever you’re storing them on another tab and click on the link button on the top of the reply box, it’s easy-peasy.

Getting my butterscotch cat fix in with Cheeto.

Sis and I did our grocery shopping today and explored my neighborhood some more. Such excitement! Tomorrow will be laundry day.

Hey everyone, what a crazy day it was. Yesterday it was so nice and warm that I put my lemon tree out to get some sunshine and this morning it snowed in Logan. Currently it is 40 degrees F cooler than it was this time yesterday.

I tried to make an appointment to start my passport process again, but the place I used last is no longer doing them. It appears that about half of the passport offices in the state have been quietly closed this year.

I finally learned that the post office in Logan did them, but I couldn’t get an answer when I called. That’s because they have one full time worker and one part time worker who are always running their butts off and just do not have time to answer the phone when the line is out the door.

I got in my car and went to talk to someone in person and learned to my dismay that building access required going up had ten concrete steps outside the building. I’m OK going up steps, going down is painful and a little scary when the concrete is frozen and slick.

They usually also take the passport photo, but their printer is on the blink so I’ll probably run into Walgrens this weekend and deal with that.

We are going to Ronceverte on Saturday so I stopped at the grocery store for milk (to make cottage cheese for Ronald) and thought my cart looked pretty empty so filled it with period supplies and things for the high school food box. I delivered that stuff to their respective donation boxes and then went to the bakery and bought some pepperoni rolls for me to eat. They came four in the pack so I’ll probably give two of them to our cat-sitter.

CNN is now owned by Paramount. Which is owned by trump friend and supporter, billionaire David Ellison. I really doubt they would be interested. (One of the Ellisons is mentioned more than once in the Epstein Files…)

The dogwoods have started blooming and I’m seeing hints of red peeking through the forest. The trees are starting to look lumpy so they will probably start leafing out soon. Spring is coming and I’m so excited. WV springs are amazing, I love them.

If I was ever inspired to join a church, I’d sure want one like yours!

Any cartoons about Spot?

How’s he doing with Roomie? Has she murderized him yet?

I am beyond honored, thank you.

My uniform is now blazing scarlet and screaming white. I will be seen!

I once allowed myself to be made supervisor of a library department. Writing the yearly reviews was one of the reasons I never let that happen again.

When I was a kid, I thought all men grew up with missing fingers. My school principle was missing the top of two fingers, the neighbor two houses down had a missing finger, my grandfathers all were missing parts of fingers. It wasn’t until I was older than I realized the common denominator wasn’t the Y gene, it was the table saws.

I’m glad FCD still has all of his digits and hope he learned to slow down and use the guards.

That’s lovely and it looks kinda challenging as well. I hope you enjoy it.

I love your t-shirt, btw.

bummer. Also bummer about the ankle. That seriously bites.

I agree. I’ve read about this sort of thing, but to see it in action was pretty amazing. Raven knew his buddy needed help and was going to be sure that someone heard him.

I put cashews on the possum’s plate. The possum doesn’t seem to care for them, but the raven would be upset if all of the food put out wasn’t for him.

Good luck phone shopping. It was annoying back when phones were affordable, it is going to be even more annoying now.

I hope you have a grand time. Will Chole be coming with you? She would probably like a little hiking too.

Are you able to do it yourself? We’ve always put ours in before but when we moved here I proclaimed us to be ladder-free, so we had to pay someone to come over and do it for us.

I get caught with my arcade games sometimes. Happily it is only 6 bucks a month and is easy to cancel, but it still makes me grumbly every time.

Please keep us posted, it looks like a beautiful flower and I hope it does well.

That does sound like a good time!

HURRAY!!! :tada:

I hope you love it as much as I know they will love you.

Of course.

She’s a beauty, I’m so happy she found a good home.

Don’t you have a dog for that? Our neighbor’s dog is very diligent about running the squirrels off as long as she doesn’t have to go too far. Half way across the yard is too far, LOL!

Which is a very good thing in your case.

I’m happy for both of you.

It was 73 when I went to work, 51, rainy and windy when we went to PT. There were "ow!"s, but no swearing, so it was a successful session.

Camembert also makes a tasty grilled cheese.

Yay!

I use Tumblr. It’s easy to post an image(click on image, choose “open image in new tab”, cut and past new image tab URL).

I’ll have to work on that.

Not yet. But’s it’s only been 7 days.

Have some more.

Buddy (L) and Kasya (R) seemed to feel a need to be watch kitties.

Imgur

Mrs. L.A. took us down the beach for Thursday Date Night. We’re regulars, and always chat with the owner. (I’m sure I’ve mentioned him before. Nice guy from Korea.) After dinner, we told him I’d accepted the job at the credit union. He brought out a shot of Johnnie Walker Blue Label. (He said it’s his favourite.) My mom loved JW Blue, but I’ve never had it. It was very nice. Smokey and peaty, but not as ‘raw’ as Laphroaig. I have a bottle around here somewhere, but at $200/bottle I don’t feel the need to look for it. I may break it out when I retire.

I now have 13 followers on ‘X’, six of which followed me yesterday. I’m guessing they’re fake accounts, but I don’t know. Why would someone with virtually no followers suddenly have the number double? (If anyone is interested – and I don’t know why you would be, because I almost never use ‘X’ – I’m Gordon Bennett @GordonHeliboy.)

Are they not subject to ADA requirements?

Where I grew up, it was farmers sticking their hands in running machinery. Corn pickers were the most common culprit.

Dogs are only good when the tree rats are on the ground.

Beauties both! Do you find that ginger cats have some dog-like traits?

I know that hippy does the heirloom quality, functional quilts, but I use quilts for inspiration to use up paper scraps. I finished up these cards this evening.

They do both tend to follow me around the house, and Buddy’s very prone to licking me. Kasya does occasionally. I hope for the sake of her digestive system that she abandons trying to groom my hair, which is probably longer than her body is.

If I had been able to call them on the phone, they would have let me in from the back loading dock. WV isn’t very gimp friendly, that’s what comes with living somewhere in the mountains with hundred year old buildings.

My appointment is for the afternoon, so hopefully the steps won’t be as slippery then.

Today you got a job around lots of money and suddenly your followers have doubled. That isn’t even a little suspicious to me.

I’m guessing I know where all of WV’s missing fingers have gone (mines or farming)…maybe it does involve the Y gene after all.

I went out to give “my” possum some more grapes and was rewarded by watching a speeding Rocky go soaring by. The flying squirrels are hard to spot, they are nocturnal and FAST so I’m always thrilled when I see one.

I’m going to take that happy thought and go to bed, Jolene is already there and George is laying in the hall where he can keep an eye on the bed and my door.

Have great nights everyone!

The princess had her swim and I got my visit, Swampy. Granny Gossip comes to my house since she likes to get away from her neighbors. I served Yirgacheffe in the French press and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. We enjoyed some flowers and had a stimulating argument about helmet laws.

The latest nutty-community emergency is that it’s March and getting warm and nobody has done anything about the mosquito problem. Everybody’s job is nobody’s job. There’s meanness and finger-pointing and outright lies, balanced with entitlement and self-righteousness. It’s a hoot. Granny Gossip is a good mimic and wickedly hilarious when she gets on a roll. She’s stuck with the nutty folks and was a founding member of that community, though at this point she’s weary of the aggravation. She’s almost 90 and doesn’t GAF. Really, I think she stirs the pot just for funsies.

red I’ll look for that ice cream. People recommended Halo Top, but it’s full of sugar. I make frozen yogurt with frozen berries or peaches for the flavoring plus a little sweetener and it’s pretty good.

I have an imgur account, and will attempt to post a picture of the princess:
