(Old) Top O' the Mundane To Ya- A St. Patrick's Day MMP

Let me get back to you on that…first I need to get to the opticians to pick up my post surgery new prescription glasses and won’t be able to make that happen until my daughter is home from the hospital with the baby and I’m not frantically juggling two wigged out kidlets. Hopefully Friday or Saturday, if I still have the strength to drive across town-I might be sitting in a corner jibbering and muttering to myself by then. I’m really looking forward to being able to read again, it’s been 7 weeks. The librarians probably think I died.

Thanks for asking.

Boo Congrats on the new addition! And good luck with 2 rapscallions.

oopsie Yay for the new job. Yer goona ace it.

No, the colors are actually the real livery of the New York Canal Corp, or as close as I could get with just pics.

To follow up on my previous post, I probably wouldn’t take entire weeks off; that’s not really my style, unless I’m actually traveling, which I will at least a couple of times this year. I’m probably going to take odd Fridays off; if I did just that, I’d still make a PTO “profit,” albeit small. Just not sure whether and/or when to take any bigger chunks, since as I said, it’s not my usual style. Again, it sort of comes down to being miserly and preparing for the future perhaps overly much.

Completely unrelated thing: my kitchen sink pipes are plastic. It’s normal for them to groan/moan when I drain pasta and thus pour boiling hot water down them, right? Is it bad for the pipes at all? But I can’t imagine having to wait to drain pasta…

IT replaced it, given the work slowdown having it MIA caused. That also documented things.

I hope he gets better quickly with no lingering symptoms. I’m not sure I’d fly (or drive) to Texas right now.

Yay!

Not doggio, but this is my preferred brand.

Congratulations!

Irk went well today. I was up front and only had to cuss one @$$hole who duct taped an envelope within an inch of it’s life. One of the RFA inspectors kept coming to me to ask what I would call a certain defect (I do a cursory inspection for obvious damage, display, power and locked status before it goes to them). I finally asked her if she was getting those phones from me. She showed me the label and it was the woman who did envelopes yesterday (she’s an older lady, somewhat ditzy, so not surprising). I know that the inspectors have to meet UPH (I don’t, I’m indirect labor), so I try to leave them with as little fallout as possible.

Just chilling now.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Howdy Y’all! Home from the church doin’s and a stop at Food Kitty. Almost no one in the sto’. We were in and out in under fifteen minutes. Go Us!

Oopsie hooray for the official offer!

BBBoo conga rats on the new grand spawn! Good for him showin’ ‘em who’s the boss from the get go!

Welcome to the world, Rupert!

Meanwhile, we have a new cat hanging around the property. So far, it hasn’t openly clashed with any of our cats, and it’s been eating the food I leave out. If it stays, I’m going to call it Jamie, because it’s a ginger, and we already have a Claire. (Claire was named for a book character, but not Claire from Outlander.)

And the penultimate shower-gift gadget arrived! Now all I need is the potato brush, and I’m all set.

Hurray for good news!

Pilot, I’m very sorry it hasn’t worked out.

He sure did! I guess it was a quite an impressive pee-the next shift of nurses are still talking about it. He’s a whiz kid!

Water leaks, Rupert would fit right in with us🤣!

Thanks for all the baby congrats, everyone ~I hope to meet him tomorrow and come back with a report.

Up from naptime, having a martini and chicken and egg noodles with cheese sauce.
Me: < throws ice cube for Spot >
Spot: “Meow?”
Me < points from kitchen > “Right there.”
Spot: “Meow?”
Me: < walks over, points directly at cube > “There.”
Spot: < sniffs finger >
Me: “Are you an orange cat or something?”
Spot: “Blrrt.”

:partying_face:Congrats!

Misnomer - congrats! new job is a good thing.

BBBoo - congrats to the max! New grandkidlet is tremendous.

LSL Guy - very sorry to hear your news.

Whiz or bliz would be good nick or pet names…

I learned long ago that the very best place to be in a disaster is in a hospital. Those buildings are designed to take a beating and keep on functioning. They have fire doors and alarms, good exits, back up generators, food, water and if it is a werewolf attack you can run to the x-ray lab and pour used fixer on them. (for the silver)

All the best for Boo and wound up kids. Hot chocolate sounds like a great idea for everyone and maybe a shot of Irish Cream or Canadian Mist in Boo’s.

What a relief, I’m so happy for you!

I don’t have just a bit, I stinkin’ love it! I snuggle up in my warm jammies and sip my hot coffee while thinking “sucks to be you, doesn’t it?”. It’s OK, I know my retired neighbors felt the same way about us when we were working, LOL!!!

Or like Ben Franklin was rumored to say “Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy!”

Oh how rude, ain’t nobody wants trash blowing around the neighborhood. I hope the doors didn’t cause any damage. Sometimes people just do not think.

Well, that’s not a whole lot of fun. Wad up foil balls and put them under the suspect window, stray cats get very suspicious about them and will often leave the area they occupy.

I didn’t know we needed two, I got one last year and thought I was done. Thanks for bringing it up, I will get my booster this week.

Sometimes things suck and sometimes they really suck. I hope he recovers quickly and easily.

Go Rupert, you already sound like my kinda guy!

What a nice dad!

I’m too angry to cry.

But, the nice thing about living in the poorest state in the country is that things are already broken and everyone is used to it already.

Our pipes are also plastic and they don’t groan/moan when I drain pasta, but sometimes too much water getting dumped will upset our garbage disposal if it isn’t running at the same time. Maybe that is the issue?

Yeah…I want to go and visit with Mom soon, but I’m not really sure how safe flying is anymore. I don’t really want to drive to Idaho, that’s too long to leave Hubs alone, but I don’t think I have a lot of time left with Mom either.

If it wasn’t a colonguard envelope, it wasn’t me!!!

My SiL is Canadian-there’s a an expansive selection of genuine :canada: ryes arrayed on his bar-choosing just one would be the hard part.

My daughter would berate me witheringly if I ever call him “Whiz” out loud in her presence but I’ll be thinking it.

Good girl :clap:t3::clap:t3::clap:t3::clap:t3:. I already know there’s no point suggesting to drag hubs with you.

Me too, sister, me too.

Happy Rupert!
Were the nurses pissed off?

The nice church man is having an ablation tomorrow.
He knows I’ll be praying.
He had a pacemaker put in 3 weeks ago.
I’m hoping hes not bothered to ask me out as hes concentrating, and worrying, on his health.

Halloo! Hooray!! FCM will be happy with the Navy part.

shoe and a Yippee-Ki-yay! (without the Die Hard addition…) for the new freezer.

BBBoo, And three cheers for the new grandson to spoil!!

 :grinning: :grinning:

Coppertone, hope nice Church man has a successful ablation.

52, it’s pretty breezy out there tonight in N. Ali-bama, so I’m hesitating in putting the trash out, don’t have all that much and can skip a week if the come too early tomorrow.

All y’all in Nature’s path take care and button up.

As for me, did some swimming and then the weightlifting training concentrated on my legs so those are a bit sore. Had to use a kettlebell for the first time and…i did the work, (bending downward with the kettlebell in my hands but keeping my back straight) but I didn’t enjoy it all that much. Then worked with the 5-6 year old soccer players for a couple of hours ‘under the lights’ and that was fun, kids that age have energy to spare and an attention span of 2.6 seconds at best. We have a guy that does a marvelous job teaching them (his e-mail name is ‘madbob’ which may tell you something) and I wish I had half his energy.

Home now, have dined on a 1/2lb Cheeburger and a couple of pudding cups for dessert, so well-filled and just killing some time until I report to Slumberland. Supposed to be much colder tomorrow, we’ll see what the Weather Wizards have in store.

Take care all.

As for me,

Ummm, do you always have a wine punch kicking around? Or is this some other kind of sangria? Otherwise that sounds like a great sauce/marinade.

Ok, now off to bed. I have a job to start tomorrow. This whole working for other people is going to take some getting used to.

Yay! Congratulations!

Yay! That’ll make work a bit better. It’s been broken for a while.

Welcome Rupert!

And I just realized why Mitten is part of your username.

Hope it goes well.

Time to start my work day. Happy Thursday!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave,

I grab a bottle of This

Is there a preferred music that you listen to while doing all this shaking?

Boo, congrats on the new grand baby!
Oopsie, I’m so happy for you and your new job!

Today I’ll be driving for the first time since my knee went wild. I’m hoping it won’t be a problem. Fortunately, I’m only going about 10 minutes away, so hopefully it will be ok.
Now I’m going to get back to my AI stuff and enjoy the poodle sitting here on my lap.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 61 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 64 with rain this mornin’ and N.O.S. this afternoon. A bit of a cool down today.
