(Old) Trip Planning in the MMP

I assumed anyone willing to volunteer to put drops in a strange cat’s nose (!!!) is already at minimum familiar with the “purrito method” and probably owns heavy-duty gloves.

Not gonna lie, I re-read your post three times and gave up. And I ain’t even that stoned (yet) either.
I just … yeah, you might as well be describing how to rebuild a transmission or build a computer.
Or fly a commercial jet plane.
Different worlds. Different skills (and lack thereof).

She’s more than welcome to anything involving walnuts, and I suppose I’d allow her the tiramisu out of the kindness of my heart, and also because I don’t know if I’d even like it.

… but I’d throw down out in the parking lot over the rest of those!

Up from naptime, having an Old Fashioned with cheeseburger, fries, and some corn.

I visited her … < checks notes > 40 some years ago, so it is on the agenda. Also a couple of dive bars.

Good luck with VBC’s nose drops. JtC

I tend to bake them, then mash with butter, garlic, pepper and garam masala before folding some sour cream into them. Quite decadent.

If she’s treat motivated, I’ve found that Nelson tends to catch on quite quickly when I offer Blue Bits. Recently, we’ve added to his repertoire of commands in Spanish.

Are you going to a Cubs or White Sox game? (or both?)

IL, your Roxy is a pretty girl.

Glad you’re feeling a bit better Mooooom.

Well, it was a shitty day at irk. I did a job that was very difficult for me physically (mostly standing all day). My hip and back are killing me (oddly enough, the toe owie doesn’t really hurt. I’ll keep an eye on it until it heals though). The rain doesn’t help matters either. Perhaps it will be easier tomorrow.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Different levels of training and I’m not great at explaining things that my hands do automatically.

I finally met my neighbour’s husband yesterday – after having lived here 20 years and their having been together for 13 or 14 years. His wife is the neighbour I saw the paramedics take away a couple of weeks ago. He said she had ‘severe Afib’ and they had to shock her twice on the way to the hospital. She also has a broken hip. I think they’re both in their mid-70s.

Mrs. L.A. had her leftover ravioli for dinner. I mashed up the quac I described earlier today, and had two pulled pork burritos on Carb Balance whole-wheat tortillas. The Trader Joe’s Haas avocado was perfectly ripe.

Howdy Y’all! Been a dreary, rainy, and stormy day here. More rain is on the way shortly accordin’ to TWPTB. So, high sloth was indeed had today. I finished readin’ the study book for Lent today and will give it a re-read before discussion begins on Wednesday of next week. Leftovers comprised sup. I feel a bit sleepified so may call it a night soonest.

Well, that’s one way to say “hi.”

A perfect Haas avocado is one of those rare, lovely things that makes life beautiful.

doggio I fondly remember some dive bar where I watched the frozen four with a bunch of Noth Cackalackians ca 1998. They were asking about rules of hockey and who we’re rooting for. UMaine, of course. It was a weird little underground place down near the south (east?) end of the waterfront walkway.

We had a lovely jaunt, Ms. Dog and I. She sniffed many sniffs, performed bodily functions, and barked at a motorbike. She regards motorcycles and skateboards as threats to life, liberty, and the American way. Then we ate dinner. She won’t eat unless I’m eating. Yum, kibble! OK, more like leftovers. I wouldn’t eat kibble on a bet. She’s now taking a power nap.

We do! It’s so interesting watching her figure it out. She always checks previous hiding spots first, then goes from room to room.

Actually, Fuzzface had tutoring from my daughter’s more intelligent cat, who learned to sit before getting a treat/dinner in about 1/20th the time it took Fuzzles to pick up the same. As shoe would say, Monkey see, Monkey do.

That’s hysterical! I guess she could use the compass to find a new husband. My Dad always got my mom tasteful jewelry. She’d have preferred a new vacuum or iron, but he couldn’t bring himself to get her something unromantic. He also got each of us girls a Valentine that he’d carefully picked out. We loved them!

Just in case anyone is wondering, the wandering thumps have resumed. (Oo! Band name!)

I was thinking Lorraine’s at Carolina Beach, but I’ll take a look.

Yep. The girl bouncers in blue onesies with rabbit ears and the boy bouncers in pink ones with big poofy cotton tails on their butts.

j/k but it is a great image.

Where do you ladies find such men? Under the nearest rock?

I read JtC’s explanation and had the exact same reaction. I knew every word but each sentence was total gibberish. Jet airplanes are easy. That stuff? Fuggedaboutdit!!1!

Now that is a real bucket of trouble for them. I hope they can weather this successfully. But that’s not the way to bet.

Hi all - approaching bed time here. Had some yummy Greek snacks and wine outside with some of the solos, then back to the room, get gussied up for my “date” at the fancy eatery w another of the single ladies. She’s from north-central FL and is a small businesswoman with two unrelated operations, a lot of drive, and total determination. She’s either one happy break away from achieving real success or one bad break away from being blown up. That’s a precarious place to be in small biz. BTDT, have the scars on my rump to show for it.

Anyhow, a fine meal was had: wedge salad w bleu cheese, a NY steak w mushrooms and chimichurri, and baked Alaska for me, and a wedge salad with balsamic and a roast salmon and asparagus and a shrimp and grits app for her, plus a lemon mousse desert w fresh-made blackberry compote. And of course a bottle of high-end Italian wine, and espressos. Took 3 hours in sumptuous surroundings and worth every minute. Lotta good yakking was had.

We then repaired to one of the lounges for the last set of a Latin trio, plus a porto for me, and Patrón & pineapple juice for her. A fine walk around the exterior decks was next. Breezy but pleasantly warm even 2+ hours after sunset. Unfortunately it was almost entirely overcast up high, so one or two stars occasionally poked through to be seen, but generally the sky was a featureless black / dark gray nothing.

Eventually we went our separate ways to bed. She’s not a late night person and after last night’s very late night, neither am I tonight.

I checked w the customer service folks about my issues w syncing my stuff (especially pix) to the cloud and I’ll address that tomorrow w the daytime IT folks.

So far, so fun!

Cheers!

It took me a minute to find this thread, I’m not planning a trip. D’oh!
It was in the 30s today but not much wind, which made it bearable.
Boss says I’m working two days this week ( 8 hours total). I’m not going to be able to buy clothes at this rate!
May try an exercise class tomorrow.
At church Sunday, we had an opp to sign up for differing ministries. I signed for grief, womens group, and health and wellness!
Maybe I will actually have a life!
Eating my cake, going to sleep soon, hoping for a neutral dream.

Does “out of my mind” count as a trip when it’s pretty much my natural state of being?

The cats have decided it’s “let’s team up to drive Mom up the wall” day. I cannot set down the laptop, especially if it’s open, without Allie promptly parking herself on it. I really don’t think it’s designed to be a bed for a 12 lb. cat. Meanwhile, it’s a major challenge to keep Buddy off the kitchen counter. He’s even jumped up right next to me while I’m standing there doing food prep!

I do love them, but they are both being colossal pains in the tail right now.

Every Mumper cat owner would agree with you.

So the email saga continues. I have access to the name, and can get emails there, however, I have lost all of the archive. So, yay? It took my server provider about a week to confirm that I actually own the domain, even after I sent them emails with receipts for paying for the damn thing. Ugh.

Next BS to deal with. Dunno what it’s gonna be but am (semi) ready for it.

Now must to sleep in order to be up for tomorrow’s slings and arrows.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 6c/42f with a predicted high of 9c/49f, and rain showers. Weather app doesn’t think much of it and says “Damp, like the inside of a fucking Disney mascot costume after an all day summer fucking dance party.” Yes, definitely not pleasant out there.

I ventured out last night to haul the biiiiiiig bin to the kerb for today’s collection and added a couple more bags of rubbish this morning before the binmen turned up. They still haven’t collected anything, sometimes they don’t make it until mid-morning. I need to nip into town at lunchtime today to collect a package and of course, it’s bucketing down at the moment.

VanGo glad to hear you were partially successful in getting your email account back, it really shouldn’t be such a faff.

Seanette I agree with JtC, every cat owner would feel the same!

Coppertone the weekly post should be easy enough to find, just look for something new with MMP in the title, and if you can’t find one first thing on a Monday, feel free to start it

Pilot sounds like your cruise is introducing you to lots of new people, what a great way to make some new friends.

Spicey thanks for the recommendation  The Detroit part of our trip is largely in the hands of others  We met a lovely couple in a bar in Vegas a few years back, contacted them to ask for recommendations for places to stay and “must see” things for Detroit and they immediately insisted we stayed with them. So we are, and they’re eager to show off their city. Should be fun!

Right, better get on with some actual work, you can tell my inbox is full of stuff I want to avoid today!

Thanky. And morning, though not Technically til 7.30.
Going to look out window to see if I can view the waning full moon!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 45 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 62 and N.O.S. ‘Tis also kinda windy out. The big item on today’s agenda is laundry. I can hardly contain myself. I shall also make a run to Sam’s this mornin’ for some essentials. I have only one 24 pack of unopened tp! How did I let the supply get that low! We shall head over to the church house around five to stuff our faces with pancakes, snausages, and bacon this bein’ Shrove Tuesday/Mardi Gras. I am not involved with any cookin’ or prep this year so all I have to do is eat. Also, while I am there I shall ready the ashes for tomorrow’s Ash Wednesday service. The rest of the day shall be spent in sloth, nappage, day drinkin’ and general uselessness.

Pilot glad you are havin’ such a good time on the cruise and meetin’ new folk. The food you have described sounds amazin’.

VanGo yay for some success in gettin’ your email account back. Hope you’re successful with the rest of the ordeal.

Coppertone yay for you for the church volunteer stuff.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and bother, I suppose I must purtify and don attire acceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. Woe!

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Well, shucks, I had a link all ready for you…

It’s amazing how restorative sleep can be. I got nearly 11 hours and I feel human again! The only reason I’m up and dressed already is my mammo appointment - I need to leave in about 5 minutes.

First gutter guy is coming at 9. FCD has to leave around 11 to take his mom to a Dr appt, so we won’t be trapped with a salesguy all morning. Similarly tomorrow, 9AM sales guy, but FCD must go at 10. Excellent planning, I say!

Not sure what else is on the agenda. Tuesday used to be laundry day, but our trip threw that all off. I’m sure I can figure something out. 'Cuz I are SMRT!

Happy Tuesday!!
