You live in SEC country. You don’t need no stinkin’ professional football!
I finished up the book I was reading this afternoon and ordered the next one in the series. I made South African fish curry and a pot of brown rice for supper. ‘Tis good.

I made wings for FCD in the air fryer - just a little salt and pepper on them is all he wants. About 8-9 minutes per side and they’re good to go. I’m surprised at how much grease ends up in the bottom - better there than in his belly!
As for me - I had a yummerrific tuna steak.
And as for sport stuff - FCD is surfing videos of miscellany. He’s not interested in the big game, I guess. Or the Olympics. Nor do I care. I’ll find a new blanket pattern, then stream some more BritBox.
I heard back from my Navy “A” school friend. She and I are meeting for lunch on the 19th. She picked a TexMex place and I found a couple of things on the menu that I think I’ll like. Chilis and cilantro don’t do it for me, or guac or pico de gallo. I’ll order the sauces on the side, just in case they’re too spicy for me. I’m really not all that picky - I just don’t like hot. And I’m not impressed that this place charges for the chips and salsa - don’t most places just give it to you when you sit down?
OK, I’ll load the dinner dishes in to the dishwasher, then assume the recliner position.
Kitten on the play!
Sooooo very cute.
Having a Wisconsin Old Fashioned. Dinner tonight is steak, baked N.O.T. and spinach with cheese and bacon.
Sounds like it.

Spot was enthralled by the Backstreet Boys lyrics on the crypto commercial.
Museum ship HVAC!
I did watch the 1st half, just to hate watch the Cheatriots. And to watch Bad Bunny.
I’ve had a couple of TV watching kittahs. Watching them was always more entertaining than whatever was showing on the screen ![]()
So today dawned cold and bright. When James was over, he was having issues with his wheelchair and my rugs so I tossed them all in the laundry nook to get them out of the way.
Today I thought that as long as they were by the washing machine, I should toss them in. They unbalanced the machine enough that it bounced the almost full gallon container of liquid laundry detergent to the tile floor where the lid broke.
I’ve been hearing ice melting off the roof for days, the liquid plop noise on the other side of the house didn’t register until the washer shut off.
What a mess. I keep our mops and dust mops standing up in the corner, so they were all soaked. The door mat was soaked and the soap had seeped down the floor vent. At least I didn’t have the vent covers screwed down, pulling it off to clean up wasn’t horrible.
I’m finally done and my hip is just screaming. Mopping and sweeping motions twist my back in just the wrong ways for my compressed discs and the pain radiates to my feet.
This was not the way I wanted to spend my afternoon.
I need another cane for in the house. My good cane is in my car and I don’t like the tube ones. You can’t whack someone with them, the tubes will bend. I think I want a nice wood one this time. My carbon fiber cane is wonderful, but it is black and a wood one would look nicer in the summer.
We don’t like wings so I’ve never made them, but I do like how “fried” foods turn out in the air fryer. Ours has a rotating cage for french fries and chips that do a much better job than frying them on the stove. Plus, fewer calories and less grease in our diet.
I hope you have a great lunch. I’d be a little disgruntled about paying for salsa and chips too. They should be built into the price of the meals.
Will it help to start using heat and ice now instead of when you can’t walk? Can you use extending tools? I hope you don’t get hurt even worse.
I hadn’t known about them before either. It surprised me that they are red, I tend to think that red hats mean orange god worshipers. So much so that I don’t have a red beanie to wear under my red Handmaid uniform and that’s kinda dumb because I get so cold standing out there sometimes. White would work too, I just never thought about getting one until this conversation. I love the Mump, I get so many good ideas from you guys!
We are going to Huntington tomorrow, maybe I can find something there.
Hubs wants good Mexican for his birthday and we will make a day out of it. He wants coffee from Dunkin’ so that’s where we will start.
When I was in Huntington last, I bought a rose colored glass vase at an interesting place. It’s called Peddlers Mall and has a bunch of booths full of upper scale flea market offerings. The booth owners aren’t there, everyone pays at the registers and they figure it out from there.
The rose vase doesn’t work where I want it, so I’m going to go back and get a green one. I’m unsure if I’m going to take the rose vase back and just donate it or not. We are going to have the interior repainted in the spring, I might want it afterwards.
Lil Miss Confident wasn’t concerned about having a different man in the house, his wheelchair got many side eyes. James said she was walking on his face by midnight though. He said it made him feel special to know that she had already accepted him in less than 12 hours.
I looked up Utilikilts and think that I wouldn’t mind seeing men wearing them one little bit. The work boots would certainly set them off just right.
Uff da on the spill. That is such a tough spill to cleanup.
Wifey suggested leftover meatloaf, and leftover mashed Yukon Gold potatoes and gravy for dinner; but… She had a grilled tuna-and-American sandwich for lunch (I had a tuna-and-American quesadilla), and she wasn’t hungry. I thought I’d have some of the Summer sausage from the Christmas gift box, but it was sticky so I threw it away. I’d bought some ground beef from the BIBIR bin today, and made two one-pound parcels for the freezer. I had two ounces leftover. I browned it with chopped red onions, and made ‘street tacos’… sort of. I put the beef/onion/salt/pepper/dried cilantro onto two, street taco-sized zero-net carbs flour tortillas with Herdez guacamole salsa.
I hope that you aren’t sore for too long.
Tomorrow I will be getting a short sided tub I can put all of the laundry liquids in and will store them on the dryer instead. I’m not going to do this again.
Thanks, kneeling on the cold tile to clean out the floor vent was not fun.
But there will be Margaritas tomorrow and I won’t have to drive so I might have two!
I have to confess that I was very entertained watching our across the street neighbor leave tonight (he’s a big muckitymuck for the company that maintains and repairs the power lines. They are running 24 hour shifts and he likes to be there at night because that’s when people slack off. No slacking when folks don’t have heat!).
He actually had to put chains on his truck before driving down his ice covered driveway and to then stop and take them off before driving on the highway. I didn’t hear what he was saying but I saw his mouth moving and didn’t need to read his lips to know that he wasn’t really happy.
And I’m just in time for my late-night final. Dinner at the Olive Garden was good as usual, albeit I do wish they would let me get through most of my salad before bringing dinner out, but that’s a complaint I have with a lot of places. Then spent 6 hours either coaching or refereeing soccer and helping take down the goals and putting them and the other equipment away. And despite all the calories from the Pasta and snackage between the games, I still stopped and bought a bag of lays chips (only the 8oz. size) and ate them all while watching the second half of the Tackleball game (dullsville). So I’m not even guessing how many calories I consumed today and view my Moanday weigh-in with some trepidation, but damn if I can’t take one day in a while to live on brownies, chips, and Pepsi, what’s life worth living for?
Anyway, back home and sated/hydrated and will be turning in not long after posting this message. Tomorrow is a new week and we’ll see what’s in store this time.
And now to catch up with all y’all…
boo fae, that is a puzzlement, hope the fix is easy and of moderate-cost. Sounds like you had a great weekend, even without a musical performance.
In retrospect, a wise move…
lily, Shiso might have been the most interested watcher of the game in the whole of the USA. Not one for the ages…
JtC, One reason I use pods for my laundry is that the chances I would make a mess with the liquid stuff is about 100%. Hope the hip has stopped screaming and is down a moderately loud grumbling. Happy Moanday shopping!! And thanks for the Big Boss and the tire chains story, it made me grin even this late at night.
Speaking of which, it’s 10:20pm and I have some things to do before bedding down for the night, so take care all and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.
