Nope, but they intermarried into the family that pretty much invented the snowblower.
Theory from my makeup-wearing teenage years
That’s what I learned as well, odd how those lessons stick after all those years.
And the cupcake tin wasn’t a good idea.
Silicon would work very well. You could just pop the cups inside out if the ice cream doesn’t want to release.
Also, I was just a tad concerned that our good news might cause some uncomfortable feelings for you if your daughter hadn’t also gotten a job.
You are such a kind person
I’m glad your daughter got a job as well, I hope she likes it and that it will pay the bills.
So we woke up to no water. Dang it. There is a break in the lines and they are fixing it now. It means I’ll be boiling water for a couple of days because the system has been contaminated which will be a PITA. Not to mention that boiled R/O water is horrible to drink alone.
I also wasn’t able to go to PT because I couldn’t shower which is kinda upsetting. I was looking forward to impressing people.
Yesterday we got almost 2 anna half inches of magical sky water and about half an inch today. The river is up and running fast, folks are going to start getting cut off soon.
They’re too thick : (
I am choosing to take this as an omen. Not sure of what, but I’m sure it is one.
Silicon would work very well.
I expect it would,. but I don’t need any more kitchen stuff. I’ll try cupcake papers next time.
Just paid for our pellets - almost $700 for 2 tons, delivered. Same order was under $500 10 years ago. Last year, delivery was $25/ton. This year, it’s up to $40/ton, which isn’t a huge surprise, tho I didn’t expect it to go up quite that much. Oh well, still cheaper than oil heat.
The water pressure is low because one of the pumping stations doesn’t have power, its not a line break. That’s better news, means I won’t have to boil water.
I still can’t really do anything, I was planning on doing laundry after changing the sheets and that isn’t going to happen. At least I can still mop our floors, LOL!!!
The newest idea from TPTB(or TVCTPMO) is for me to go around doing the retapes in unload, so things go out rather than burying the 100 and 200 Slides with wrecked boxes. Then slide over to help the 300 Slide at 6ish. The drivers didn’t get out till 0920(we started at 0300), and I got out at the usual time. So so much for that idea. Spot needed cat food, so I stopped at Pet Supermarket. I also got him some Meowijuana, and I bought a shopping back. Not because I needed one, but because:
And Spot loves his drugs, he’s currently passed out in a laundry basket.
John Mellencamp in my haid.
Now you have him in my head
Now I have the Cranberries stuck in my head.
so it’s just shaping up to be a fun day all around.
{{{{Mollie and Mrs. Magill}}}}
You really need girl lessons.
To be fair a lot of other girls did get a head start on you.
That’s better news, means I won’t have to boil water.
Yay!
Mooooom, doggio and other Aldi shoppers: have you noticed the prices there have disproportionally gone up lately? I really didn’t need much, so I just nipped in there. I couldn’t find a bottle of hot sauce for under $4! That’s a small bottle of Cholula at HEB or Kroger. Usually, I go with Valentina’s, Tapatios or Sricha, but they had none of those. Their frozen veggies are no bargain either. If it weren’t so handy and, given my lack of spoons right now, I’d forgo them altogether for anything but dog kibble and treats.
I get eggs, milk, cereal, small tortillas, butter, apples, all of which are cheaper than other grocery stores around here. Just the other day, I scored chicken wings for 85 cents/lb because it was their sell-by date. Their deli style lunch meats and cheeses are also better deals. Lots of what I buy is definitely a better deal at Aldi. I go to Food Lion for things Aldi doesn’t carry or for weekly sale items. It works for me.
Oh, we can flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy,
We can flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. ![]()
I’ll try cupcake papers next time.
Rounds of parchment paper or wax paper might work better.
Afternoon all. Prescriptions were picked up and 900 calories exercised, so home now and not planning on much else except getting the garbage to the curb. Clouds are about but it’s still 87F outside so outdoor activities are limited. Had a second breakfast of frozen pancakes (I did nuke them before eating them…) and later tonight will be Chee-burger time.
And need to work on catching up, we’ve been a talkative bunch this afternoon..
Taters, happy your weight numbers are coming down. I’ve been watching my diet this past couple of weeks (not eating as much and consequently not sweating as much, so time for doing some weights at the gym) and I’m down several pounds, so we’ll see if that continues. Trying to stabilize between 200-205lbs and am close to that now.
Mollie, sounds like a RDOS type of day to me, take care of yourself.
Cat Glove, nice that you gifted the lady heading to college, I’m sure she has a lot to deal with, your (and other’s) kindness undoubtedly helped. And Como’s sounds like a good place to eat, but, I don’t eat pizza so I’d be a sammich person there. ANd Yay! for your daughter joining the gainfully employed.
have commenced breath-holding as I saw a sign on way home yesterday that said $1 Billion.
You can commence breathing again, I just read this and it’s too late to make a Tennessee run (no lottery in Ali-bama), but I promise if no one wins it tonight I will go get tickets for the next drawing.
red, if the smell is lingering tomorrow, you might want to let management know.
FCM, that fried ice cream sounds pretty good. Let us know how it goes over.
Cookie, hope you brought the remainder of the sammich home, then no problems on what to have for dinner tonight…
Nut, sorry if the eclipse played peek-a-boo with you, did you notice how things looked different when you were getting only 10% of the day’s sunlight?
JtC, from weather reports I guess a lot of places up there and in the other Northeast states are getting drenched. Hope they get the water fixed soon.
doggio, I had to look that (Meowijuana) up because…damn, that is one creative name.
And I just heard thunder rumbling, so need to check the mailbox and get abouot other stuff, so talk with y’all later.
Howdy Y’all! We procured and stowed provisions and then proceeded to be our usual RDOS sloths. OK, I did boil the chikin, debone, and shred the meat, as well as boil aigs and chop all the ingredients, except the apple, for the chikin sallit. I’ll put it together tomorrow. It’s cloudy out and rainy all around. We got a little rain earlier and I keep hopin’ we’ll get some more. Now I shall go see what up on teh intartoobz.
MOOOOOOM corn and fried ice cream is, well, dairy and grains, so I say it counts as a healthy dinner.
rocker and red I have seen that mural in Seymour. I was on an irk trip way back when and it was pointed out to me. I spent a fair amount of time in rural small towns, especially in the midwest, which I really liked.
Cat_Glove I’d split the Mushroom Fun-Guy Pizza with ya! I love me some 'shrooms and the name is hilarious. HUZZAH for your daughter and her new gig!
Nuts hope the clouds went away. We had a solar eclipse in 2017. I had two pair of those special sunglasses and gave one to my then next door neighbor so his grandson, who was stayin’ with him, could see the eclipse. I don’t know which was better, seein’ the eclipse or the big hug that four year old gave me.
JtC hope the plumbin’ is fixed by now. Glad you won’t have to boil water.
doggio cat drugs and a neat shoppin’ bag. Now that’s some shoppin’!
burpo did you get into Spot’s stash?
MetalMouse I never think to buy lottery tickets and there’s a store a half mile away from da cave that sells 'em.
It’s grocery/date night, so the boys have fend for themselves.
I just fed Chloé. While she was wolfing down her food, I wrote a note saying, “Do not fall for her LIES. Chloé has been fed,” and put it on top of her food, so the boys would know she’s eaten. . After she finished she immediately ran upstairs to try to scam Spike into feeding her again.
I get eggs, milk, cereal, small tortillas, butter, apples, all of which are cheaper than other grocery stores around here.
I generally don’t buy produce there (too many spoiled after a couple of days batches), but I do agree about the lunch meat. I’ve been a bit spoiled since I’ve been in Texas in that Joe V.'s has good, low cost produce and a lot of things are comparable to Aldi in price, although tortillas are definitely cheaper there than Aldi. I was just shocked about the hot sauce and a couple of other things.
red, if the smell is lingering tomorrow, you might want to let management know.
It’s pretty much disappeared now.
Now for a whine. I’ve forgone lettuce for the duration 'cause, you know, poop lettuce. My potassium levels were elevated when I went in yesterday, so tomatoes and citrus are out (I usually don’t keep 'nanners around because they jack up my BG). Now, cukes are beginning to upset my belly. Dammit! They were my last salad option. I guess it’s cooked vegetables for the duration.
:whine over:
glad you did make it out alive.
I stayed firmly inside a locked car in motion. Stockton, CA, is not a good town. It and Oakland seem to be competing for the title of Detroit West, so far as crime and such are concerned.
Where’s the one place in the world you haven’t visited but really want to see? For me, it’s Malta.
Hmm, the Government briefly sent me to Honolulu, but I did not get any of the island fun or vibe. A nice resort on the islands without anything to do- maybe Aulani? Or, changing gears but still an island- The Shire in New Zealand?
Currently down to the 80’s after a hot week.
I was able to fall asleep shortly after I lasted posted and slept for about 1-1/2 hrs; would have slept longer except Hubs woke me up to put the drops in his eyes.
TVCTPMO

BF stopped over this afternoon and brought us half a dozen ears of corn and half of a watermelon. The corn was fresh picked at noon today. Hubs & I split an ear and it was delish. Also had pierogi and some Polish sausage with sauteed onions and orange bell pepper.
Up from naptime. I had to run out after the last post, because I was out of Swiss/Gruyere cheese. Spot didn’t notice me leave. If that stuff is that good, I might start using it as a cocktail swizzle stick.
. But I’m up, having a martini, and chicken and egg noodles with cheese sauce.
Mooooom, doggio and other Aldi shoppers: have you noticed the prices there have disproportionally gone up lately?
it is way more expensive than it was pre Pandemic.
I go to Food Lion for things Aldi doesn’t carry or for weekly sale items. It works for me.
I hit Aldi for the basics, and Harris Teeter(or online merchants) for luxury items.

The Vast Conspiracy To Piss Me Off.
Oh, we can flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy,
We can flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
< takes silvervine sticks away from burpo >
:whine over:
No, because jalapenos are on the list. I have to avoid fresh chilies now
:whine goes to 11:
Another long day yesterday, though since it was a Democrat primary and only 117 of the 1000+ registered Dems in the district showed up we actually got out less than twenty minutes after the polls closed. Got home, fed the cats, went to bed, and slept for almost nine hours straight. ![]()
72 ferrets at 2100, down from the day’s high of 82; predicted low tonight is 70, with a 60% chance of rain and possible thorms.
May visit Aldi and Wally World tomorrow, but other than that, vast quantities of nothing for the rest of the week.
Evening all. Late-night final is a bit early, as I’m tired and may turn in sooner rather than later. Did manage to get the garbage bin out when the rain stopped, but they are predicting some nasty weather here in about an hour, so hatches have been battened down. Started the Firday shopping list, fairly small right now being the middle of the month, but will look around the kitchen/fridge tomorrow and see if there is anything worth adding. Temperature has dropped to 76F, so should be an OK night for sleeping.
red, glad the smell is dissipating. SO far lettuce, tomato, and carrots are still on my grocery list, no problems…yet.
And that’s the news for tonight. Take care and I’ll catch up on Thorsday.
