(Old) Wassup, doc, in the MMP?

Usual shopping trip today. There were crows and a raptor today.

Got home and started setting up the aquarium. Looks pretty good. Next up will be deciding on the fish. It is a five gallon, so I’m leaning toward a betta fish. So far the cats are ignoring it. I was a bit concerned that they would drink from it. Things might change once the fish arrive.

The World Cup fan fest is making the neighbourhood crazy. The buses are detouring all over. Today there were septa people around to guide people to the fan fest site. That is new.

Awwwww..

I would love to see a picture of Ollie! I’m glad he’s getting cuddly.

I took Nelson along with me when I went to Hartz to get some chicken and okra for supper. The owner’s dad or uncle (not sure which) was working the drive thru and fussed over him. When he handed me my order, he told me that there were a couple of tenders in the bag for Nelson! Not only tonight’s supper, enough for Monday night’s supper for under $10, but treats for my dog. You gotta love locally owned franchises.

I just got back from my meeting about an hour ago. Getting ready was surreal. Fang had forgotten to pack his new suitcase into his stuff to move to Texasso. Mrs Magill had determined it was cheaper to just buy him a new suitcase and have Amazon ship it to him than it was to ship the suitcase he already had[1], so she was in the bathroom with me as I was putting on make-up, then Spike needed to use the non-leaky toilet, so he came into the bathroom to use the watercloset, again while I was putting on make-up. Both of them were acting like, “Oh, it’s Saturday. This is what happens on Saturday.” My brain is going “What the actual fuck is going on here?”

Anyhow, I really enjoy seeing my sisters and brothers.

Late night final. Watched soccer and basketball and caught up with my NY Times reading so ready for the Sunday edition tomorrow.

Shoe, the World Cup does make for odd matchups, just watched Scotland Vs Haiti and Australia vs Turkey just started.

VanGo, happy opening duties.

rocky, you can ask boofae about handling soccer crowds, she lives close to an English league team.

Mollie, Saturdays are not regular days…

OK, It’ll be 11:30pm before I get to bed, so see you sometime tomorrow.

He really is the beating heart of my home. And like you, I hope his dietary foray into The Unknown this morning doesn’t result in some disgusting mess in the house. So far, so good.

Glad you were able to satisfy your gnawin’ and cravin’ for Bojangles. That’s an experience I haven’t had, myself. Bojangles, I mean. I’ve had many gnawin’s and cravin’s. :grimacing:

We are in exactly the same place with these necessary tasks, and the operative word you so aptly used is S-L-O-W-L-Y. I have things I’ve been lugging around… well, forever. But what do you do with them, ya know? The wedding dress my beloved stepmomma made for my first wedding by hand from nothing more than a picture I ripped out of a bridal magazine, me having not one clue what a huge amount of work it was for her, and she never fussed about it a single time. She even hand-embroidered a private message in the train on the inside. Just… throw that away? Ugh; I hate such dilemmas, and I’ve got so much stuff like this!

“Velociraptor stage” – it’s the perfect description! And yes, while he’s never going to revel in cuddling the way his predecessor did, he’s getting to like it more than I think he expected to. Which is very nice for us both.

Dinner was good and a perennial favorite in the heat of summer. Bonus: Leftovers for tomorrow, too!

I think I have a momma quail nesting in the trees directly in front of the house. I’ve seen her several times in the past few days and I can’t think of any other reason why she’d be hanging around. I think they nest on the ground, so that would fit. I’ll know when the family comes parading out in a few weeks.

Good job on the GG pill administration! And as always, a fabulous piccie of him and Jolene!

You will. Mine does everything but powder my ass when all is said and done. And I love it! JtC is spot on about the savings in toilet paper. I use roughly a roll per month now. Since I live in Septic Tank Country, this was a major consideration in my purchase. Worth. Every. Penny. And we’re here to help when you’re ready to give it some serious consideration! (Isn’t that wonderful? )

Have fun with whatever you decide to do with tomorrow!

I have, but it’s quite a long time ago and I am unforgivably overdue to post some new ones. He just moves around so fast, it’s hard to get good ones. I’ll try again tomorrow and hope for something good to share. I do adore Monkey pics, too! And Chloé, and Spot, and GG and Jolene, and Peach, and Nelson, and Otis… and… and…

This is a genius observation. So perfectly true. The difference being of course:

Me: Spit it out!! Spit it OUT!!

Ollie: Can I have some of that?

Soon, really, I promise! We could do with a recent Nelson piccie too, ya know?

Gotta dash, as I’m being reminded it’s time for someone’s nightly pill and cookies!

Have any of you (and @BippityBoppityBoo and all the others with medical experience) dealt with knee replacements?

And does Jiffy (or Giffy?) mean anything to y’all with experience on these things?

I’m tag-teaming my mom & my manager, while I’m the one who (“creakily”) gets the heavy shit outta the walk-in these days, and talks with my mom (who will NOT accept any THC or CBD pain relief) cuz that’s fun.

Woke just to check the Dope.
Back later.:innocent:

Will Buddy and Kasya do?

Imgur

That is an acceptable portrait.

I once worked at a Rugby League (the less common form of Rugby) world cup match; USA vs Cook Islands. You could have fit almost the entire population of the Cook Islands in the stadium. It was really fun- they sold the tickets dirt cheap to fill the stadium and borrowed some cheerleaders from the local university, cos it was obvious that otherwise the place would be virtually empty with no atmosphere.

Obviously the entire British crowd decided to support the Cook Islands, even the ones who had to look the place up before they arrived… They lost though.

The promised sun has yet to arrive today, though it is hinting about coming out. I should get showered and some laundry washed, then I think I might go out for a walk somewhere.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy with a predicted high of 92 with rain/tstorms/apocalypse expected around four p.m. Precious will probably need to be sedated. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization in which I get to plop in a pew. OYKW was makin’ noises about not goin’ as we were goin’ to bed last night. If’n he doesn’t want to, I may go to the nine o’clock Rite I service at nine a.m. It’s a shorter service as there’s no music (a drawback), but I do love me some Rite I. If he does want to go, we’ll go to the ten-thirty service. The rest of the day will be devoted to high RDOS inactivities. Sup will be Firday’s leftovers. I have also yanked steaks outta da freezer as tomorrow night is men’s night over to the church house.

Coppertone “honk and sip” sounds like it could be fun!

WetOne love the pic! Petunia looks like a sweetie.

JtC I am sure Harry will enjoy a dinner out tonight. Jolene and GG look so sweet all cuddled up together!

shoe glad irk went well and that you actually got out early on your early night out for once. Also glad the throat is better.

VanGo I suppose overtime pay ain’t so bad. Glad Ms. Peach had a good time at the doggie park.

rocker did you have to fight off the crows and the raptors in order to shop? That might make for a good movie!

red Nelson really knows how to turn on the cute and work a drive thru!

Mollie it’s great that Mrs. Magill and Fang think it’s just another Sattidy night. So glad you had a good time with your brothers and sisters.

BrightTree Bojangles was good and my gnawin’ and a cravin’ for it is sated for a while now. It’s one I get two to three times a year. As for the quail, I suppose I should be ashamed of myself, but my first thought was “quail supper, yum!” A proper southern quail supper consists of fried quail, rice 'n gravy, and bizkits.

Nettie Buddy and Kasya really do look like brother and sister!

And now this…

< AHEM > CLEARIN’ THROAT < AHEM >

HAAAPPPYYY BIIIRRRTTTHHHDDDAAAYYY TOOOOOO YOUUUUUU!!!
HAAAPPPYYY BIIIRRRTTTHHHDDDAAAYYY TOOOOOO YOUUUUUU!!!
HAAAPPPYYY BIIIRRRTTTHHHDDDAAAYYY DEEEAAARRR CCCOOOPPPEEERRRTTTOOONNNEEE!!!
HAAAPPPYYY BIIIRRRTTTHHHDDDAAAYYY TOOOOOO YOUUUUUU!!!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization shall commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Happy Birthday !

( ^mini hippo returns)

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. It’s currently 71 degrees Ferret Height(21.667 Centipedes). I shall begin the morning cleaning shortly. Spot is watching his shows, after giving me the 0530 mauling.

:bottle_with_popping_cork: :birthday_cake: :partying_face:HAPPY BIRTHDAY COPPERTONE!!! :birthday_cake: :bottle_with_popping_cork:

So it’s sort of a Diet Rite?

Thanky! It took me a few seconds ( mini hippo).
Its about to rain so I stay hybernated except for church.

Happy Birthday

Depending on how long the while has been, brace yourself for a bit pf a price shock and maybe a menu shock, too. We used to go frequently, then stopped when we were watching our food intake because of the AYCE fries. So when we decided to splurge and go again, yoiks!!! Consider yourself advised. You’re welcome!

My daughter has done this for herself and for gifts. They make for pretty nice blankies! Not only warm but reminisceable! (Is too a word. now.)

AHEM. What did I say??? Go sit in the time-out chair.

Both inlaws and FCD had them done. And all said the most important thing is to do the therapy, even tho it hurts. I don’t recall what pain meds any of them took, tho. But working the knees was the biggie they all emphasized.

Today started around 70 Ferrets, heading to the low 90s. Showers predicted for the evening. I am so hoping for some major t-boomers over DC running all afternoon and evening.

We’ll be heading back to the boat to (I hope) finally wring out the overheating. We pulled out the manual and talked about how it all worked. FCD is going ahead of me because he got up and showered and I’m still in my robe. And I’ll pack us a lunch, then harness Otis. But first, I’ll finish my morning reading routine.

We’ve got 2 relatively cool days on tap, so I plan to finish my back yard project. We’ll see how that goes. Next weekend is the air show at NAS Pax, but it’s also the pig roast at the marina. Theoretically, the traffic will be heavy in opposite directions, but unless we make a loooooong detour thru Prince Frederick, we face getting stuck for a while. We shall see.

OK, onward. Happy Sunday!!

Happy birthday, Coppertone

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 15c/60f with a predicted high of 17c/63f and cloudy. Weather app would like to remind you that “You may feel like walking around your fucking yard naked. Your elderly neighbour fucking wishes you wouldn’t.”

metalmouse it’s hard to believe but we do occasionally have a weekend when we deliberately don’t book anything  There were things we could have gone to if we wanted to, but now and then, we like to have a night at home watching films and slurping cocktails.

Taters I’m sorry your husband’s being such a twerp about pillows. He should just go and buy his own without you having to get involved in it. He’s the one who has to use it, he should put the work in.

Oopsie what a fabulous work story, sounds like they really appreciated your contribution to the project. It’s always good to have that kind of thing recognised. And you’ll have plenty of space in the new house to hang your Sir Stickyfoot!

Bright Tree Ollie sounds adorable, I’m so glad he’s decided to become a proper mumpet!

As you might expect, EDS has created a complicated calculation for her final degree and of course, she made an appeal to the Extenuating Circumstances panel immediately after her last exam on the basis that we did not provide a laptop with a spellchecker on it. We already know that re-taking the exam won’t make any difference to her degree result so our Registry team have calculated on the basis of an old “No Detriment” policy from the covid years that only uses 80 credits of final year modules. That allows us to disregard the module she’s complaining about, and also the one that’s got the 3rd year credits in 2nd year. The EC Panel meets on Monday so I’ll know more after that but we’re keeping everything crossed!

WetOne what a great pic! I hope Petunia enjoyed her pampering.

JtC since Harry’s daughter is asking you to do her a favour in taking him out for dinner, would she have left the money to go towards your meal?

Football fans are loud but generally harmless. When our local team has a home match, the roads around the stadium are closed to traffic, fans arrive in town and usually walk from the train/bus/tram stops to the ground - they often don’t think about traffic lights and cross the roads en masse so cars have to stop for them. Our local pubs will have extra security on the doors, and most will have a sign on the door telling you whether they’re open to home fans or away fans.

Yesterday was a reasonably decent day, we decided neither of us really needed to go out anywhere so 'im indoors went down to the local shops to get some limes and a couple of other bits he needed for dinner. He made mac 'n cheese with chorizo and jalapenos, and cheesy garlic bread. Afterwards, we watched a couple of films and drank margaritas.

Got up late this morning (we didn’t get to bed until 3am), tended to the needs of cats, and that is about it for the day. I will have a nice soaky bath in a bit, then my only serious activity is making dinner tonight. I’m planning on tarragon chicken for a change, but I have all afternoon to think about that while I am slothing on the sofa with a book. I had this one as a birthday gift and have only just started it so I think that’s going to be my afternoon project.

I’ve often said the fastest object in the universe is either a toddler or a puppy-dog who’s just been asked, *What do you have in your mouth?"

Swampy I prefer Rite II, but I’ve only done Rite I a couple of times. Anything is better than contemporary. We drive past the closest Episcopal church for an additional ten miles because they only do contemporary services.

:woman_facepalming:

Looks like it’ll be a quiet day in the Magill household. They’re predicting rain this afternoon, which kinda sucks. I wanted to do some kabobs on the grill. Hot Kamoto pots and rain do not mix. At all. Maybe I’ll do the spicy chicken thighs recipe Mrs Magill pulled out of her People Magazine the other day.

There - that’s all the hard decisions I’ve decided to make today.

Good morning all. Despite copious amounts of fluid intake yesterday, my bladder let me sleep until 6:30am today (silly bladder). We apparently did get rain last night but it’s dry this morning and about 72F, although the weather wizards are saying we’ll get wet again in a couple of hours. More soccer today (and all the way to July 19th) so productivity will be low.

Now to scroll and see what the night moves were…

I know too. For some reason the past few Sundays when I go to pickup my Sunday NY TImes I always find myself passing by the Bakery (it’s only 75 feet or so out of my way) and picking up a pecan roll/sticky bun…and while I feel guilty for the 600 calories, I refuse to give up something that tastes so darn good once a week.

Bright Tree, thanks for the offer, I’ll let you know when the bidet purchase is planned (sometime between Fall 2026 and 2032…).

Nettie, that’ll do fine, a handsome pair of felines.

swampy, happy pew plopping!

So, Rite Light? (and yes, I am so going to hell, but I see I’ll have doggio for company…)

Happy Birthday Coppertone!!

FCM, thanks for the advice on Red Robin, I’ll risk it but it won’t hurt till the credit card is due.

Why gee, ma’am, you’d think something that you really don’t like is happening there today…

boo fae, nothing at all with a night home, I have them all the time.

And that’s all I wrote for Sunday morning. Need to do the rest of the internettin’ and then dress for dinner. Take care all.

Happy Birthday, Coppertone!

I had my birthday dinner last night. We went to the Silver Reef Casino and had prime rib in the Red River Café. We usually go to Black Forest Steak House in Blaine for fillets mignon, but the casino is significantly less expensive. I had two Manhattans, and The Spousal Unit had two Grey Goose martinis. I ate all of my green beans (and zucchini, and yellow squash, and corn), and over half of my baked potato. Birthday carbs, right? I brought half of my roast (the ‘big end’, with the ‘cap’) home. She brought home half of her meat and most of her green beans and garlic mashed potatoes.

I guy who has done a lot of work on the house came out Friday. Found out that the house is 1,029 square feet; a little smaller than I thought it was. Mrs. L.A. wants to have the attic insulated. I’ve mentioned that the electricity bill has increased 50% since January, and she wants to help bring it down. It was like $175 this month (much better than the $300+ shock we got a couple of months ago). I think she’s learning that she doesn’t need the space heater on in the bathroom all day, and she’s not using the heater in her room with the warmer weather. Insulation should help once we start using the a/c, and it will save propane in Winter. Anyway, our guy is coming out this afternoon to measure the joist spacing, and then Mi Esposa can order the insulating material.
