Sunny - we’re on Princess. And we’re less than impressed with the service and food aboard compared to Royal Caribbean and Holland America. But our room is comfy and the lectures we’ve attended have been interesting.
The seas have calmed considerably in the last 6 hours. We’re taking a bus tour of Punta Arenas tomorrow. No plans for tonight.
Howdy Y’all! Except for makin’ sup, which we et early, and laundry, it’s been a slothful day. One can sloth and do both those things cause there’s wait time for stuff to cook and for laundry to wash and dry. I felt a touch of scurvy and malaria comin’ on so medicinal gin and tonics were had.
Sunny yay you posted! Conga rats on the new kitteh.
Everyone else, yays, boos, hugs, noogies, trouts, chitlins and how you doin’s all around, as needed.
It’s 42 degrees here. The snow is melting and it’s supposed to be in the 60s later this week.
Not much got done last weekend because my son was not feeling well. Now, not much got done this weekend because I am sick. Don’t know if it is food poisoning or some kind of bug.
The electric company came out this morning. I wish we had gotten some kind of notice. All they had to do was move the meter. They needed to get into the backyard, but we put the dogs out when we saw somebody at the door. So, we had to bring the dogs back in, but they didn’t want to since there was somebody by the gate.
I’m sorry Ace didn’t work out Doggio
I hope the right person comes along for him; he is a cutie. And I hope the right dog comes along for you.
I finally got my new phone up and working. I feel so stupid. I kept doing all this online bs, and then figured out all I had to do was switch SIM cards. I don’t like the new phone, but the old one is dying a slow death.
I hope the knee feels better Nellie. I’m a wimp and use the walker if I have to walk any distance.
I am out of Tramadol and starting to feel it. My mistake, I thought the DR would call in the script after my visit Friday when she saw I had only 3 pills left. No, I have to call the office and leave a request for a refill. Then they have to put it in to the pharmacy.
I’ll live.
{{{RealFish}}} I’m sorry for you dad and what you are going through.
Welcome back Sunny
Taters and Talky, sorry that irk sucks.
My job drives me crazy some days. I’d love to quit, but I can’t. It’s only a few clients that make me want to quit, I’ve damn near thrown the phone across the room after talking to one of them.
I had to laugh. Nelson’s father’s littermate looks straight up teeny tiny chihuahua (just like her chi father) at 3.5 pounds. She’s the alpha bitch of all five dogs at Sis’, even Nelson’s 25 pound brother / cousin.
Could you possibly make a nice chowder with one gallon before it goes bad?
As a single chick, I go through at least a quart a week just in coffee.
Add wheels (bikes, trikes, skateboards, scooters) to the untethered kids and it scares the everloving crap out of me. Most of them have no sense of cars around them.
Good to see you again OW!
Those are some cute babby ratties there shoe!
Ouch, nellie. I hope that you’re healed soonest.
Happy birthday Moooooom!
You are doing your son a great service in teaching him to do laundry spicy.
Welcome back sunny. We do need pics of the kitten though.
Irked, came home in 57F weather, so most of the snowy - icy crap is gone. I trained someone for the special projects team today as a backup when they’re shorthanded. She caught on to cartonization and movement of a somewhat confusing process fairly quickly, so I was impressed. It didn’t take too long and I was working at the desk opposite her, so could field questions as needed.
My worse knee thinks the weather is changing. I wish it were smart enough to tell which way it’s going. I’d love to be able to put my finger alongside my nose and say “Arrr, Me bum knee predicts rain.” Alas, it just kinda hurts most of the time, when weather changes it hurts more.
spicy Get that boy learned on laundry. If not just for your sake, his in the future. (And any possible future SO’s/housemates)
We’ve entered the Strait of Magellan and all the rocking and rolling is done. We should hit Punta Arenas about 7 in the morning, and our bus tour is at 3, so much chill and sleeping in tomorrow.
We watched A Man Called Otto this evening - tons of movies available aboard, which is nice. But now I’m ready for snoozing.
The One Where dogbutler Finds Out This Is His Circus, And They Are His Monkeys
So some mouthbreather in another hub put a bunch of bags of bags on an outgoing trailer, which some other mouthbreather in unload heaved on the belt going to Smalls, which I had to heave over the divider. Plus they were filled, so the bags were 50+ pounds each. The kicker? Panamanian Vince and I(combined age 110) had to heave all those into our empty bag trailer. I was so worn out, even Hazardous Ken noticed. But I did some mattress shopping after work. The One Where dogbutler Acts Like An Actual Adult
I did my taxes last night, and am getting a whole $150 back. On the bright side, I am earning just about what I made as a manager, with 1% of the stress.
Welcome Onza! and welcome back, Sunny!
{{{{{Fishy}}}}}
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!
{{{{Spice Weasel}}}}
At some point. At least Spot is cuddly and makes barking noises in the meantime.
And hope you and Sahson feel better.
So you don’t want to just sit around, watching paintglue dry?
As I have mentioned, I quit my job last week, and it’s now been eight working days since then. I had been anticipating a lot of calls from people asking me where I had put stuff and how to work a machine that they had previously relied upon me to do, and… nothing. Not a whisper.
I’m relieved, but also confused as to how they are managing when last year they seemed to imply I was crucial to the whole place. Seems I wasn’t after all, and they can figure things out just fine themselves if they have to.
Meanwhile I have been enjoying sleeping in and finally getting the stressful weights off my mind. Ahh…
I see Sunny’s here, now we need some Lotion!
The cold spell broke but now its rain All week.
Got some books from the library, always wanting to eat healthier ( go away potato chips!) And thinking maybe wine and cheese?
I will… do that. As soon as I remember how. I think I have to load pictures onto a third site and then link? I’ll do it. I promise!
Hippo Birdies Mooom!
This made me laugh. 'Beamer’s doggo is 5 lbs soaking wet. He doesn’t boss our female Akita round, because she sets limits. He absolutely terrorizes his 75lb bigger brother though.
Yay! Celebrating to the positive is a wonderful thing to do.
Evening all. I did use the fancy rental carpet cleaner, looking at the dirty water in the tank it does seems to have worked pretty well, but hard to see the improvement. May try again tomorrow if I have the chance, I bought enough cleaning agent to do the whole block of houses with (next time I’ll read the directions first). But have both the Plumbers (to put the sink in the second bathroom back together) and Cook’s Pest control due tomorrow, so it’s problematic. Did do some post-dinner pedaling, burned 530 calories so I don’t feel too bad about those Oreos I grabbed at lunch. It’s still above 50F at 9:45pm, so much improved over last week. Supposed to rain most of the day tomorrow, so probably good that I got out today.
talkie, you are a good parent, have some extra sugar and chocolate (together if possible–and I see the lava cake probably met your requirements).
I believe the term you want is…contraindicated. Telling stupid people they are stupid never really works out well.
Spicy, may be my age or maybe I’m just a Luddite at heart, but I can’t break up with my phone because I’ve never fallen in love with it. A useful tool, sure; but being on it for hours at a time…nope, not for me. Hope your laundry lessons go well, don’t remember my Mom teaching me much, which led to to washing my white undies and red towels together in a hot wash (I have learned much in the past 40 years).
FCM, the guy who does the group tours I go on doesn’t like Princess either, it’s Royal Carribean or Holland for him Hope the seas are calm and the scenery is nice tomorrow.
suzie, those are rather…interesting…coasters.
Feel better soon, Sari.
doggio, same money and less responsibily? Not a bad deal (outside of the mouthbreathers…)
Bat Boy, maybe they saw last year that things could go FUBAR if you left and tried to mitigate it. Or maybe they just don’t want to admit how valuable you were and rather would see things go in the toilet than call you.
OK,. 10pm so need to finish up internetting, do a little reading and head off to slumberland. Catch up with you all on Hump Day.
