(Old) Wrapping up Feb in the MMP

He showed up just before 6. It’s now 7:30 and he’s still working on things. I normally go to bed at 9 on work nights, and I’m peeved. I’ll have time for some sort of frozen meal for dinner.

I know, I know, first world problems and I’m blessed to have a landlord that gets sh*t fixed ASAP. But it’s Monday night and I’m pissy.

missred I am sorry to hear about your coworker.

52 communication or lack thereof, is the number one thing that pisses me off. I’d be in a snit too. Hope you have cookies for later.

Only if you plan to replace your phone immediately. Do you still have that little pokey tool that came with your phone to install the sim card? That and a couple of gentle puffs of canned air will remove most purse dirt and pocket lint.

It’s OK for you to eat in front of him, you don’t have to offer him dinner or anything. I’m sure he had his dinner before coming over.

Super annoying!

That was kinda my thought, but I know almost nothing about that sort of thing. And…I do needlepoint, I have a large amount of little pokey things close to hand!

(Plus, I just happen to know that the Ubreak it guys will clean my phone port for free…or at least that’s what they told me last time I was there.)

So, I put my lil lemon tree outside before I left today and brought it in when it got cold. GG must have forgotten it while it was gone because he has been looooooking at it ever since I brought it back in. He is a very long cat, LOL!

She works for a contractor. So who knows. Worst case scenario, she waits tables till things settle. Every restaurant in town is hiring.

OK, I’s tahred. Catch ya in the morning!

It’s Monday again?

I’m going into the orifice tomorrow to pack up my personal stuff in preparation for the move upstairs, and ti sign and scan a contract and send it off. Normally, I’d get up at 04:30, but I’ve reset my alarm to 04:00. Since I’m now an employee, rather than a team member hourly, I want to get there early.

I heated up some Trader Joe’s Shrimp Scampi. I think there was as much garlic and butter as there were shrimp. I had mine with a couple of slices of Sara Lee Delightful Multi-Grain, and Mrs. L.A. had Seattle sourdough. 'Twas good.

Well, that requires 1a.) checking the list, and checkin’ it twice 2b.) gettin’ everything on it.

Was about to wrap up for the night, but remembered that I hadn’t provided 52 my Arby’s burger review. And it’s…pretty good, I liked their sauce, it’s a nice thick burger and not just a skinny pressed patty, and their crinkle cut fries were pretty tasty. So I’d give them a solid 8 out of 10 and probably will put them on my list to try again.

And that’s as constructive as I have been all evening.

JtC, it ain’t a protest if the powers that be powers don’t react. Keep on keeping on and I know you can be the most annoying one if you put your mind too it…

Me too.(great minds and all that…)

red, hope you feel less pain tomorrow. My right side hurts when I cough or breathe deeply, but nothing is sensitive to the touch and if I’m just sitting or even moving there is no issue. So hopefully both of us will be less achy this week.

rocky, hope you (and Lager) enjoy the new loveseat.

OK, that’s it for the late night final. Bedtime beckons. Catch y’all on 2sDay.

Hello, dear chums. I’m just popping in during the very brief window I have to access the MMP. It’s a long, dull story, but essentially, my computer has a hardware issue. The screen is shot. I’m typing this on my laptop with a borrowed monitor. Tomorrow I’ll make my second trip to the Genius Bar in the Apple Store in Tacoma, where hopefully they’ll be able to install the new screen, maybe within a week. My phone is also on the fritz, so I won’t have any way to access the internet until one of them is fixed. (I can make and receive calls. Everything else is iffy.)

I’ll fill you in on everything when I get technology back. I miss you all!

Thanks very much; that is so sweet of you to say. Yes, Bella and I had a great walk. She sniffed the peemail and tracks in the snow to her hearts content. We walked 1.85 miles. And I believe she enjoyed the PB & honey goat’s milk cookies.

red thanks for your thoughts about daughter and her girlfriend. It appears they must have norovirus. I asked siri and she said it takes 1-3 days for the symptoms to disappear. This is good because they go to Cali on Saturday for daughter’s BFF surprise BD party. Originally they were going to stay at our house on Friday evening since we are 10 minutes from the airport and they are 45 minutes away. But we can’t take the chance of any germs getting in the house.

That said, Hubs had much better results from his blood draw today. Both his RBC and hemoglobin are on the rise, somewhat significantly, well at least to someone who is not a medical professional; we’ll see what the Dr says on Friday. And he says he feels the shortness of breath is improving. Don’t want to jinx it but perhaps he’ll actually be able to golf this summer.

It’s been a long day so I just had a kahlua and cream. Feeling nice and drowsy now. See you tomorrow.

Up from naptime. Having an Old Fashioned and a cheeseburger with Hatch chillies.

< forgets to hit send >
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

If a game has IDDQD I use it, so yeah.

After which thou shalt churnest the butter, then go to a barn raising.

If she’s a contractor, she’s probably good. If she’s Fed…well the Muskrat is sacking Nuclear Safety officials, so it’s a seniority game.

:champagne::partying_face::cake: Happy Doperversary MetalMouse!!! :cake::partying_face::champagne:

This. We have a local group who does it to the General Assemby, including a few retire people who take turns getting arrested, just to make a bigger scene.

You’re making my CDO hurt.

< crosses fingers >

The CatGlove abides.

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 7c/44f with a predicted high of 9c/48f and partly cloudy. Weather app says “Oh, come on. It’s so fucking boring outside. Even the fucking clouds are bored.” But it is partly sunny, and looks rather nice out there! Also, I can’t see any clouds from where I am sitting, just lots of blue sky.

metalmouse happy Doperversary!

I would have thought you would be most annoying outside your elected rep’s office when said person is actually there. Are they the person with the most “influence” in your area?

That’s very annoying when you’ve spent all day waiting around for them. I see they turned up eventually, I hope they didn’t take up too much of your evening.

I’m sorry to hear about your co-worker, that must have been tough.

Good to see you though! I’m sorry about your tech woes, I hope the store people can get your stuff fixed quickly.

Cause for celebration there!

After yesterday’s gym outing, I had a fairly quiet rest of the day. Dealt with some administrivia in the afternoon, and in the evening I made a curry for dinner. I used minced beef along with onions, mushrooms, spinach, peas and potato to make a keema-based curry which turned out quite well. I’m glad about that because I’ve got a lot of leftovers!

The only other job of any significance was hauling the biiiiiiig bin out to the kerb for today’s collection, which happened around 7am. I was still in bed when I heard the binmen coming up the street, so when I got up a bit later, I went out and hauled the biiiiig bin back to where it usually lives.

No real plans for today, I think I’ll squeeze in a Rockfit session at home today and save another gym visit for tomorrow. I also need to work out what I’m cooking for campus food as I’m back at irk on Thursday and Friday, both of which are campus days. For now, it must be time for another cuppa!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 45 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 73 and N.O.S. It’s laundry day and I can hardly contain myself. Sup will be leftovers. We, of course, will indulge in RDOS inactivities as is our wont.

Red sorry about your co-irker.

52 glad the maintenance guy showed up even at an inconvenient time. Hope he wasn’t there too late.

Nellie glad you checked in. Hope the tech woes are fixed soonest.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Good morning.

I am back in Oly town, sitting at Haggen because it’s not open yet. It’s pouring down rain and dusty outside.

Good to see you, Nellie!

Another day of insanity awaits.

Popping in to say hello, gives hugs, yays, and boos.

Take care.

Is Microsoft really this dumb?

I just got a major update pushed down from IT, and now in file explorer I no longer have “rename” as an option when I right click. I can change the name by opening a properties window. This seems really dumb- the number of pdfs that I receive with nonsensical names means I have to change the name quite frequently.

Seriously, why would they do this?

Morning all. Didn’t sleep all that well, if I rolled onto my right side I got all sorts of pain, so had to sleep on my back or left side all night. Up now and have no pain like that, it is a puzzlement why it is occurring, if it continues for another day or so I’ll make an appointment with the Drs. office. Dishwasher is in operation so I’ll have that task done for the week this morning, then it’ll be a ‘we’ll see’ day. Really should do a good kitchen scrubbing, but…we’ll see… It’s 52F now but heading to 72F this afternoon and it’s due to reach 77F tomorrow…then back to the 50’s-60’s for the highs. At least no rain forecast for the next week.

Just thought, might take my mower in for it’s annual service this week, it’ll take them some time since a lot of folks do that, but…we’ll see.

nellie, take care and we’ll be waiting for your return.

Cat Glove, that is good new about Hubs, hope the improvement continues.

Do you really have to ask? I can still rename things in File Explorer, so maybe the update hasn’t reached me yet. But I agree, silly to add extra steps for something many of us use a lot.

And that’s all for the am. Take care and have a good 2sDay.

OK. I didn’t notice at first, but rename is still there. It just has a symbol instead of being written out.

Because, apparently, that was a necessary change.

We’re taking Sadie to the vet today for the eye drainage issue. Hopefully, it’s nothing, but it just looks bad. This assumes that she doesn’t cop to the fact and disappear under the bed before we can nab her and put her in her carrier. She’s really sensitive to the ‘vet vibe’. Probably get her nails clipped also.

Some very springlike weather this week, with most all of the snow gone. I know winter isn’t over, but it’s sure acting like it. High 40s all week, then dropping off on Saturday.

{{{taters}}} glad you popped in. Best to you for a low level of insanity.

They’re IT programmers. They have no sense of the real world that people work in.
Just to show how crazy IT programmers are: one of the reports that I needed to run from time to time, added the revenues together with the expenses.

Currently 42*, supposed to go up to 50* today. Saw a guy walking his dogs in shorts yesterday when I was walking Bella, it was 48*. I’m going to walk to work since there is no precip in the forecast and the sun is out.

As far as games, I only play the ones already on the computer: Spider Solitaire, Free Cell, Minesweeper, Hearts and Solitaire. I reset the statistics every Jan 1. Yes, I like to win. I do best at Spider Solitaire and Free Cell. For the year I’ve played Free Cell 476 times and won 475 times. That equates to 99.79% :slightly_smiling_face:

I don’t follow. I would think you would want to get there right on time.

I do appreciate your faith in me!

I won’t be going daily, my hip and back can’t take it. I probably will go Wednesday but I’m not sure where. Good thing this is such a small state, almost everywhere is in easy driving range.

[quote=“The_Stainless_Steel_Rat, post:48, topic:1014729”]

I’m so happy to hear from you, I was thinking it was time for you to be home again. Dang about the computer woes, I hope you get things fixed soon. (If you get desperate, your local library has computers available to the public.)

That is so great. I know all of the precautions you have been living with are a super PITA, but he certainly wouldn’t be doing this well without them.

Scheduling who gets arrested each day is world class annoying! Go them!

It seems as though they are big WFH fans so nobody is ever really sure if anyone but staff will be working at any given time. WV was called for trump before the polls closed, its not like any of the elected officials actually care about the minority opinion.

Although now that most of the federal workers have been fired and coal orders are lowering and the social security office in Logan is closing…it is possible that passerbys might notice our signs and think about it for as long as it takes for the light to change.

I wonder if you pulled something somehow. I once tweeked my back stepping off a curb wrong.

Fingers crossed for a successful vet visit and that you don’t end up having to use eye drops on her.
