(Old) Wrapping up Feb in the MMP

Ravens are the best. So very, very, smart.

Inferior cheese is better than no cheese in a pinch. And now that I know how it reacts, I could probably adjust for it. I’ve already refined my recipes for liquid rennet and as I’ve mentioned in the past, I’m lazy AF and don’t really want to bother going through that whole process again.

Ralphie has at least three hoomans trained to give him fud, it wouldn’t surprise me if he keeps a couple of side feeders as well.

Speaking of grooming dogs, FCD showed me a video last night of a woman trying to bathe a Tibetan Mastiff. She was never able to get his skin wet - his coat was so matted under the fluff - and she ended up shaving him. The coat came off in 2 huge pieces (one per side) and she still had to do a clean-up trim. The entire grooming took something like 5 hours!!! And the dog just lay there, his whole demeanor kinda like “Yeah, whatever. Knock yourself out.” Cracked us up!

We went to Salsa’s for supper because I didn’t feel like cooking. Shortly, I will head downstairs for some biking. I foresee a short workout, but I guess that depends on what I choose to watch on TV.

Up from naptime. I dreamed I stole an alien weapon, and I was fleeing from Russian agents and a space witch, but I drove my space car too far, and ended up in the part of the Universe where space was just giant angry bees glued together. Then I woke up because I had a cramp in my left big toe. I’m watching hockey and having a Siesta. I just heard thunder.

If we have the best on time delivery in the industry, I assume FedEx, DHL, and the USPS spend most of their time smoking meth.

Sadly, no.

Yay!

SQUEEEEEE!!!

Too blanking little, too blanking late.

not going to make a hill of beans difference unless the Sundshine State elects democrats to the 2 open US Rep offices; even then, it might only amount to a hill of beans since PINO or FFOTUS (take your choice) seems to have the Supreme Court in his back pocket.

Hubs’ PCP ok’d him to have angel hair pasta but only with olive oil, no butter. So, I went to Kroger and purchased PastaRoni. The box did not say it was a San Francisco treat. :musical_note: He liked it but was only able to eat a little. He said he’d eat more in 3 hrs.

Well, after I make the grocery list for tomorrow, I’m going to bed early since Daughter said she’d be at our house at 5:00-5:15am Saturday morning to drop off Bella, then I will drive to the airport so the car can stay at our house and not have to pay exorbitant parking fees. I need to get back in the habit of waking up early so I’m going to try to go to the Fitness Center when it opens tomorrow morning at 5:30am.

So, good night all

I got my new to me computer at the museum. Took forever to try to connect to the network. I punched in the password I’d been given, 4 or 5 times, no luck. Went to a coworker and he punched in the same damn password and it worked. Then a day of reading things like the workers manual, and filling out a whole bunch of forms. My direct supervisor was like, “this is what I was hoping to protect you from”, but I’ve got to do all of this in order to get on board. Done with that now, maybe I can do some actual work tomorrow.

oopsie Fluffy puppy!! yay!

Chances are she figured out some voice to text thingy. I had long convos with an ex where I could barely get off a couple words before a raft of text arrived.

JtC You are doing good work! I hope it actually does something. Where I am, it wouldn’t make a lick of difference, hard blue county in a hard blue state. But we are in…sad to say, interesting times.

Says the guy with the Swedish Chef as his avatar. Bork bork. Or are there supposed to be 3 borks?

Good evening all. Did some walking and cycle riding without moving at the gym then came home to some grilled ham-n-cheese on rye, so my belly is a happy place right now. No plans to move much more today except when it nears bedtime, I do want to finalize the shopping list for the Firday Kroger run, but I could do that tomorrow if necessary. Down to 53F and will get as low as 36F, so still not shorts and t-shirt weather.

Cat Glove, hope the diet keeps working for Hubs.

Oopsie, fingers and all other appendages crossed that these changes don’t affect you negatively. And yay! for Bailey being clean and sweet.

I can type one-finger on the phone, but slowly, and often come up with creative spellings sometimes…

FCM, I think that video was from “Girl with the Dogs” website, she has dozens/hundreds of grooming videos on You Tube, including many with cats!! Great way to kill 30-60 minutes IMHO.

doggio, you were a regular Spaceman Spiff in that dream…

And that’s all for tonight. Have a good rest of the evening and I’ll catch you on Firday.

Was the dog’s name Wally?

Sigh. Yeah. We are doing our best but so many people are so rude about it. In the mean time, miners are being laid off due to the tariffs already. The orders have lessened quite a bit because buyers are finding other sources.

Isn’t that just part of the process? I’m so glad you are all official and stuff, when does your health insurance kick in?

I would have thought so myself, but I’ve seen her skinny lil thumbs flying while she’s texting. She’s left handed, she doesn’t think like us right minded folks do!

Encourage your elected officials to hold the line. They are the only ones who can help anymore.

Yeah, well people keep saying I’m nice too. Suck it up, buttercup! (I’m fairly sure your wife hasn’t kept you around all those many years just because you are cute, I know you must have something to back your good looks up after you start talking.)

I just set my alarm because we need to leave early in the morning. Yes, I do consider 0800 to be early nowadays, I’m a RDOS who doesn’t have to get up early anymore.

It’s been raining steadily for the last hour and I’m hoping to go to sleep listening to the rain fall on our metal roof. I don’t think I’ll ever get over how happy the magical sky water makes me, that’s what makes trees grow.

Agreed!:football:

Jeebus on a pogo stick.

I would say today could go suck eggs, but in this economy, I can’t afford that.

Sooooo …

Went in early to cover for Grandma Crew who has been hospitalized with kidney problems (she only has one) and considering how many other health issues she has (diabetes, she is minus a gallbladder, in addition to the one kidney and I forgot what all else got scooped out of her, plus a heart attack in her recent history) we are all worried for her.

Sprinkles dad didn’t pay the electric bill, so she has no power at home - she is definitely frettin’ about that. Left mid shift to go get her, saw one of the other crew trudging in, so scooped him up as well.
It was a BOGO sale on employees!

One of the ovens shorted out and threw sparks into Alternate Manager face.
That was fun.
She folded a cardboard pizza round in half, wrote “NOPE!” on it, and hung it on the handle.

Still no reach-in replacement.

Car(e)less is holding up pretty well considering his impending upheaval.
He’s gonna hafta rehome his cats to a shelter - that broke my friggin’ heart to hear - and I’m still working out the logistics of the dragon tank lair (and crickets!!)

My White House reporter bestie is, understandably, going through banana nonsense right now, so she’s texting me for support.
Which I am happy to provide!! In the best fashion I can.

… had to call my mom yesterday because [reasons] and she kinda scolded me about not having fixed the stoopit bookshelf yet.

Woman, I have things on my plate more important than a :imp: shelf.

… I guess it would make room to clear up floor space.
But I do NOT have the spoons.

Oh, and the accountants are done, so I might perhaps squeeze that in, too. Gotta pay 'em a chunk of :dollar: but I just wanna know, do I owe?

Ye gawds, I just can’t even anymore.

Also, Monkey decided today was a great day to get on my last nerve, literally climbing the curtains, so he is currently in time-out in the bathroom.
If that makes me a bad person, so be it.

Buddy’s very fond of middle-of-the-night laps from side of bed to nightstand to window, with lots of rattling of the blinds, lately. Boy’s using what nerves I have left as tightrope wires. Allie’s a pain in her own way, with pestering me constantly about feeding her. She always has kibble down, and eats crunchy treats, so I’m confident she’s not having dental woes that keep her from eating hard food, she’s just being a diva about getting either canned or treats.

Yes!!!

We watched 2 more episodes of Manchester Cagney & Lacey and it’s pre-sleep tablet time. I’s tahred, so it won’t last long… zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I’m a lot the same way, although, when Sis is here, I do take special care to look before returning to bed to make sure that I don’t lay down on an unsuspecting dog who isn’t used to sleeping with the hoomans.

Hugs to you re your job oopsie. Unfortunately, this ball will roll downhill to the point where even those of us whose jobs don’t rely on government contracts will face similar (yeah, not Little Mary Sunshine here either).

Who’s the pretty girl?! :heartbeat:

My 87 year old dad really didn’t use his smart phone for much of anything except phone calls for the first couple of years he owned it until I gave him a pack of styli. Now that he has the hang of that and I’ve let him mess around on my tablet, he’s interested in having one.

:people_hugging: to you shoe. I hope that your day gets better.

Irked, came home, took the small beast to the dog park, napped and am surfing until time to take said pupper out.

Things are getting weird at irk for me too. My overall department is downsizing, but the department that just started up is pulling 10 of our people because it’s way bigger than projected. The new Reclaim department is cranking up and my current boss may wind up supervising it. If so, I may request a transfer to continue working for her (what a change from her predecessor). If I don’t do that, my little area will likely go down to one person, and given that my teammate doesn’t know how to do most of the tasks, I may be the one staying, since I know how her programming too (I trained her).

Who knows? I had originally planned on retiring in November, but now, I’m putting it off until at least the mid-terms.

Stay safe and healthy (and sane) y’all!

Evening all, Nothing much accomplished since my last post, but getting used to posting before heading off towards bed.

I spoke a couple weeks ago about my bladder over-producing and I had even seen the Doctor about that. Well, it’s been behaving itself today, haven’t had to seek relief for oer 6 hours now so that is good. Of course yesterday had to go about 10 times and over 3 liters produced, so who knows… Will keep monitoring it.

JtC, safe travels.

shoe, best wishes to Grandma, had my gallbladder out 30 years ago but so far have avoided the rest of the issues. Hope ownership checks in soon and gets the new stuff you need to keep going at your usual level.

And that’s the late-night final. See y’all tomorrow.

What a cute girl!! Those smiling eyes!

Started a test with some epoxy resin a couple hours ago. So far so good, but having to wait 20 hours to see if it works is irksome. The epoxy didn’t melt the foam, so that is a plus.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

Just don’t mix gasoline and Styrofoam, that makes a gooey mess.

< spoons shoe >

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 3c/38f with a predicted high of 9c/48f and mostly sunny. Weather app says “It’s bright and fucking clear outside. Get outside and do some fucking yard work or something.” I’d love to, but I’m stuck in the campus office instead.

Sounds like you voted no for a very good reason. Or two very good fluffy reasons!

Happy Doperversary, doggio

Awww…she looks really happy! Give her a cuddle when you feel overwhelmed, hopefully Bailey can help you stop tying yourself up in knots over what might or might not happen.

Years ago, there was only the road test to pass so people could take their time with their L plates on. Now there is a theory test that you need to pass first, and then a time limit of about 2 years (I think) in which to take and pass your road test. Otherwise you have to retake the theory test and start again. Both tests are expensive, so it’s in your interests to do the road test as soon as possible after the theory test, and there’s often a long waiting list for the road test.

They got rid of our desktop PCs so that we could all have laptops. My suggestion would be for them to give me a second laptop so that I can keep one at home and one in the office. That would mean all I have to bring to the office is my notebook and whatever food I want for the day. I doubt the uni would do that though, that’s an expense they don’t need.

{{{{{shoe}}}}} just 'cos.

Yesterday was a long and frustrating day of catching up with stuff. Of the list of ten things I’d asked the ADHD Squirrel to look after while I was off, two she palmed off onto someone else (not unexpected), and the rest have come back with mixed results. At least half of them are incomplete even though they were quite straightforward - I was signed off on a Wednesday, she needed to attend a meeting on the following day which would have covered three things on my list and allow them to be completed. But they aren’t. The others involved passing on completed documents for approval elsewhere - she thinks she’s uploaded them and requested approval, but she can’t remember if she did or not. Thus I am doing, or re-doing, most of the things that I asked her to complete. I has Teh Grrrr!

Left on time, and was happy to get home while it was still light outside. Fed the cats, cleaned litter trays, had dinner and then went to collect 'im indoors from the station. Went to bed early because I knew I’d be up early today. The Travel Gods were good to me today so that means impending disaster!

In fact, the looming disaster is that the water machine in our office which provides me with hot water for my tea is on the verge of a breakdown. It’s not supplying hot water at more than a dribble so it takes forever to fill a mug. Must contact Facilities immediately as this amounts to inhumane working conditions!

Awake every 2 hours or so all night, so I gave up a bit after 5. Roxy’s grade has a show at 9:30 and we plan to attend. We’ll leave here around 8:30 to meet up with Daughter.

So laundry day will be delayed. But I think I can manage.

Onward! Happy Firday!
