Omnibus Religious Fucks in the NEWS

This is probably my main regret for being an atheist. Unlike those religions that believe in an afterlife, I won’t get the opportunity to tell everyone else “I told you so!”

Technically, they would be brewsters.

And, yes, historically, like most kitchen chores, the beer was brewed by the women.

Have it put on your tombstone/urn/etc.

Where to put this … where to put this … I guess the homophobic, racist Methodist pastor and fifth grade teacher goes here so as not to bump that “shop class” thread.

And the school superintendent doesn’t give a shit.

Sometimes boys will be girls, too.

I like this quote as well: " I do not wish to remain anonymous. My kids and I agree that diversity must be supported and defended out loud and by name. Brave choice.

And, of course, there’s this fun bit:

Sarah also wrote that teachers in the school system pass Bibles out to children and provide Christian religious instruction during class hours despite the objections of Native American students who practice their own religion and of parents who have asked the school system not to proselytize their children.

Y’allqueda ain’t going away until it’s voted away.

“Depart from Me, you maker of lawlessness; I never knew you.”

That guy also wrote this.

I’m sure he found the research…interesting…

The REALLY disturbing thing is that a teacher thinks it’s OK to verbally abuse children, regardless of what his purported religious beliefs may be, or what he was calling them.

The girl was covered in bruises and had suffered “severe levels of malnourishment,” a police spokesperson [told The San Diego Union-Tribune.]

No doubt she committed the grave sin of starting to think for herself, or questioning the literal truth of every word in the bible. I hope they all go to prison for the rest of their miserable lives – oh, except for the “father” who killed himself in the presence of police.

The phrase “three counts of willful and cruelty to a child” was used, I think, four times in the article, so I don’t suppose it is a typo, but it seems an odd phrasing, like a word is missing after “willful” or else the “and” is there by mistake.

Arabella was initially fostered before being adopted by Brian and Leticia McCormack, officials said.

Arabella had two sisters, ages 6 and 7, the release says, who are now living with a foster family.

It’s like a fucking never-ending cycle of horror for these kids. :rage:

Poor little thing. She had a beautiful smile; how on earth can someone do those things to a child?

Wouldn’t be surprised if it involved casting out demons or somesuch — i.e., as mentioned above, starting to think for herself.

or she had Democratic leanings…

That’s exactly what I was thinking.

RIP, Arabella.

“On Patrol Live” (formerly “Live PD”) featured this one over the weekend.

Apparently the aunt, who is from Louisiana, fancies herself as some sort of voodoo priestess.

It doesn’t get any Loa than that.
