Omnibus Religious Fucks in the NEWS

In this case, it’s the sour ones picking the cherries.

Who knew Jesus’s teachings came with an expiry date?

Mohandas Gandhi is supposed to have said, “I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”

And another story goes that he was asked “What do you think of Western Civilization?” His (alleged) response: “I think it would be a good idea.”

“What do you think of Flushing New York?”

So it’s no surprise some of the “Christian” right are coming out against Vivek for being Hindu. I want him to fail as much as the next Democrat, but I’m not quite pragmatic/ cold enough to hope that this kind of prejudice torpedoes his run.

According to the Pew Research Center, 53% of conservative Republicans say being Christian is an important part of being truly American.”

It would clog the pipes.

What Pew didn’t say was those 53% likely say being a particular sort of Christian is an important part of being a real American.

Yes, it’d be “Christian, but not Catholic or Unitarian or Those Christians Who Act Like Jesus by Being Decent to Immigrants and The Poor.”

Reddit users are reporting Christian websites for violating Virginia’s new porn identification law, citing vulgar passages in the Bible

Hahahahahahah! Those religious fucks who managed to get their inanity passed into law forgot something rather important: “Be careful what you wish for; you might get it”.

From the link:

  • Reddit users are reporting Bible websites after the state passed a new anti-porn law.

  • One Reddit user claimed the sites are “failing to require age verification before accessing porn.”

  • The user cited a passage of the Bible that discusses men with “genitals like those of donkeys.”

&

In the post, which has at least 2,000 upvotes, the user cited a passage from Ezekiel that appears on Bible.com, which says a woman "lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose semen was like that of horses. So she longed to do the sinful things she did when she was young in Egypt, when young men caressed and fondled her breasts. "

The verse quoted in the article is Ezekiel, Chapter 23, Verse 20. Personally, I think those reporting those sites should’ve reported the entirety of the Song of Solomon, but, hey, what do I know about erotic poetry shown to minors?

How about biblical torture porn? Castrations for nakedness, e.g. or incest–looking at your drunk, naked father. Or that whole worshipping a golden calf (phallus) dealie.

Having children drowned in a river, sacrificed or torn apart by bears?

“For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind:.”

Instead he gets to go on living the rest of his life at a Missouri assisted living facility for RC clergy who are fellow sex abusers.

In this case, justice delayed is justice denied in every conceivable way.

A church in Joliet is facing financial ruin because donations it received (and spent) were from a guy that had been doing bad things. The church has been ordered to pay back the money.

I’m not sure how this works, but it sucks for the churchgoers.

A lot of people are leaving the Methodist church over their views regarding LGBT+ people and pastors. I hope the ones who leave find a church that welcomes them, and the conservative jackholes all step on a piece of LEGO in the middle of the night and use that time to reflect on their views. A pastor in the story is quoted as saying he doesn’t want a “cage fight” in the church over this. Well, sometimes a fight is needed. That’s harsh but life.

@Love_Rhombus It’s the anti-LGBT people who are leaving the United Methodist Church. Though, of course, if your church votes to leave the UMC, you might then turn around and leave that particular church.

BAH! I did completely screw that one up. I guess I’m so used to it being the other way around in many stories. Thank you for the correction!

I didn’t know Missouri was big enough to hold them all.
