You should come in again.
Don’t forget baby killers.
Here’s the lede for a story from an Atlanta television station.
A former Kennesaw State University student was found dead in his off-campus student housing unit after his mother called in a welfare check.
She had not heard from him in about 10 days.
Police said in a preliminary report Saturday that none of Larry Green’s three roommates at the apartment on Hidden Forest Court had noticed the smell of a decomposing body.
Obviously, a very sad story, particularly for the family and friends of this student, but it occurred to me that given how little some college students pay attention to housecleaning, it might not be a surprise that they didn’t notice the odor.
I had the same thought. Totally plausible.
Eh, eu d’ dead body is pretty bad, even by college student standards
I bow to your expertise.
Denial can stretch out a long time. It took Ira Einhorn’s neighbors long enough to decide that something didn’t smell right.
In other Stupid MFer news, police finally caught up with former Kentucky governor Matt Bevin in Paris - Kentucky, that is.
Bevin is now due to spend the next 60 days in jail, though maybe those financial records will suddenly turn up and he’ll get out of the slam sooner.
Eh, dead stuff smells bad. Really bad. People can ignore or overlook a great many things, but that isn’t one of them. I question the veracity of their claim, that’s all.
The fact Mom hadn’t heard from her son for “about 10” days doesn’t require that he have been dead, and rotting, the whole “about 10” days.
Mom might be fussy and 6 is “about 10” in her worried mind. And he might have been away from home the first two, hung over or whatever the druggie equivalent is the next 2, died on day 5 & she called the cops on day 6.
So just starting to stink.
Lotta ways that delay could have happened. Heck, what if he normally calls Mom only roughly weekly?
Well, everyone is speculating based on a terse news report, and maybe reading more into it than is warranted. It does sort of imply that “nobody noticed” an odor that perhaps was questionable. I guess. Why bring it up, if it wasn’t a question? “He hadn’t begun to stink, yet.”
I didn’t think about it any deeper than the typical cleaning standards of college students.
I’ve got to say that she does appear to have had reason to worry.
Youth football coaches set the wrong standard.
I’ve no idea why Canton’s name has “the” in front of it twice.
Wait a moment! These players are 8 and 9 years old? Yet they’re more adult than the coaches.
I will never understand. Why do the stakes feel so high for these guys?
They’re coaching 9-year-olds for fuck’s sake. Nothing about the game actually matters. The only part that does matter is teaching kids good sports behavior - and they sure failed on that point.
There are a collection of women at my office who self-identify as hockey Moms. Nothing is of importance except the mundanities of how well their kids are doing at hockey. It’s all they ever talk about. Like literally rambling about the statistical averages of a 14 year old. And they live terrible lives where they never have any free time because they’re taking their kids to hockey meets or whatever hockey players do. I’m so glad my son is incompetent at sports (following the hallowed footsteps of Mom and Dad.) Of course once he gets into robotics, we’re fucked.
A few weeks ago at a football game for 9 year olds, one of the parents came out from the stands to trip one of the kids.
The kid was fine, the parent got a disorderly conduct charge.
There’s a short video in the article
They are losers with no lives and live vicariously through their kids. Their kids’ success in sports is a success for them, so they get a feeling of accomplishment that they probably don’t get anywhere else.
They probably care ten times more about winning than the kids do.
They care about winning far more than they care about their children.
WTF? That’s assault and battery and child abuse.
Neither did he say “… eventually, some day, many, many years from now in the far flung future. Oh, and sorry about punishing you for doing something wrong before you even had the ability to tell right from wrong. Maybe putting that fruit where anyone could get to it was a bad idea.”
The Congressional Black Caucus had to patiently explain to the idiotic journalist Wajahat Ali exactly why he shouldn’t nod along while the vile excuse for a journalist Rula Jebreal calls Hakeem Jeffries a “monkey” and an “errand boy”, even if she issues the disclaimer “I don’t mean that in a racist way”.
