Why the Hell did the school district implement a no-outside-food policy in the first place? How much of a kickback was their cafeteria vendor giving the board members?
I agree it’s stupid, but drugs! is always a popular reason, and allergen exposure would be possible.
Money is likely it though - not necessarily kickbacks (although definitely in the running), the profit from the cafeteria may be supporting the overall budget.

The high school I work at has a no open beverages rule. Meaning that you can bring in an unopened bottle of water or other soft drinks, but you can’t bring in anything that has already been opened, which includes reusable water bottles, or coffees. Because of alcohol or other drugs that can be put into an open bottle.

It sounds like they think the issue is girls trying to get out of gym class by claiming they are on their periods. I have no idea if that is a common ruse or not. But surely there are better ways to deal with a missed gym class than being the period police? Some kind of make-up assignment, an essay maybe? And be sure to give any boys missing gym class the same task, btw.
It all stems from the belief that girls and women lie and exaggerate about the impact of their menstrual period. Many doctors believe this as well; it’s a huge problem in women’s healthcare. The general public is also staggeringly ignorant. I’ve talked to adult women whose male supervisors believed they could choose when to start bleeding, and who were disciplined for not waiting to start their period until their scheduled break.
This is disgusting, invasive, misogynistic bullshit. It’s also blatantly discriminatory.

Depends on what’s meant by “AI”. If they mean LLMs like ChatGPT, that’s not at all a task that it’s good at, and trying to do anything using it would be catastrophic. But if it’s just using the old meaning of “really sophisticated software”, they’re already doing that, and have been for a long time, and have been incrementally increasing how much they’re using it for a long time, too.
And that one’s in the wrong thread, because it’s evil, not stupid. All part of the pervasive overall effort to criminalize being female.

Actually, at my high school, we had a combined physical education/nuclear physics class, due to low staffing levels. Of course, this was in the early 1980s, so things may be different now.
