I remember when I used to play Dark Age of Camelot and was talking on a Ventrilo channel with some of my guildmates. Notifications sounded for new users joining the channel, and we heard this young teen voice saying “Hey, we’re elite haxxors and we just hacked your channel.” We ignored them, then they started flooding the audio with white noise for a few seconds. After it ended, I said “Don’t you guys know what girlfriends are?” and the white noise came back. We just went to another channel.
The little scamps have to deal with their developing hormones somehow I guess.
It’s pretty amazing how quickly they get fed here. Remember that jogging thread and the red Cobalt? They got that little fucker so fat she couldn’t fit in the Cobalt if she ever did hook up.
People, THINK twice about posting in any thread started by someone with a current join date, especially those with “I’m too stupid to be out in the world alone” type of threads. OR, just check this thread before posting. We spot about 80% of those little hemorrhoids before they get too fat on the high calorie responses here. And we have the only Acme mark IV Running Coach spam buster on our side here. We win. With the Troll Patrol, and the Spam Buster on team SDMB, the little nutsacks stand no chance when they come here.
The only reason I haven’t called you a troll is that you’re harmless. I don’t think you’re equipped to troll a board more mature than Thomas the Tank Engine meets Mr Roberts. Quit trying to change my mind please.
I don’t think the dude is harmless. His persistent stupid threads pollute the board with embarrassing banal nonsense and have already elevated sensitivity about similar hypotheticals.
Elevated oversensitivity, you mean. Lowering yourself to a troll’s level isn’t an effective way of dealing with them. I think dude robert is mostly harmless. Anyone overreacting to him has the problem.
I agree the dude is mostly harmless, but I’ve gone from originally debating troll or clueless oddball, to having no doubt he’s trolling. His schtick is getting less amusing lately and I’ve quit participating in his threads.
My question (which wasn’t tmbg’s) was an actual one that I had contemplated for awhile, and once I saw that DR or a lookalike posted similarly in GQ without repercussions I thought I might as well. It was a legit question although I admit that I posted it in GQ rather than IMHO to riff on the fact there were 2 or 3 similar ones already there.
Well, sort of. There is this actual thread itself, and that other thread here, which listed all the most popular/major trolls of the site. I mean, most of the other banned people are most likely just unimportant sock spammers or spammers, or obvious socks of other banned users that perhaps made 1 or 2 posts about the same thing then got banned, so they don’t really count. And on my side, I could only have taken interest in these types of forums for about the past 3 years or so as well.
