Trust me, my initial response to the thread title was “Jesus fucking Christ.” But then I remembered a couple of books that might be relevant. It seems he has a poor understanding of human history, but the question of whether technology is necessarily 100% good is an interesting one to me.

Invariably one of our wingnuts finds and cherry-picks some little factoid from some website of questionable repute which paints the Dems/liberals in some poor light, then proceeds to go “neener neener neener!” as if this distracts from anything the GOP is doing and thus the Dems aren’t any better etc. etc. etc. Yes, I know about the recent discussion of the “I Know I Am But What Are You?” tactic-still pisses the hell out of me. I hate to defend the OP of the CA UHC thread (generally a troll), but that’s a legit story and legit concern. As a Californian, I see this in the news a lot lately, and the issue of cost is a real one. If he really was concern trolling in that thread, he’d have phrased things more like: Is this the beginning of the end of Democratic control in the CA legislature?
