On the clock - 2008 NFL Draft

…and there goes DeAngelo Williams being a fantasy sleeper next year. Omni, are you excited?!

The Bears have a weird habit of drafting players when the coverage is at commercial or the announcers are focused on something else. Every year we get next to no analysis, it’s weird.

Here’s to hoping we come back to good news!

Mendenhall is available…

BTW…the Panthers just love their injury prone RBs don’t they. Ha!

…and then ESPN split screens with a random race I’ve never heard of. Brilliant, Omni, your timing is perfect.

I could have talked myself into it if Otah and Williams were the only OTs left, but with Albert left I’ve be pissed. The frustrating part is that I love Mendenhall.

Uh oh, Omni…not good…they’re showing Mendenhall on TV and talking about the Bears…

Jeff Otah? Chris Williams?

I need a fucking drink.

Offensive tackle good for you?
Now get the pointy objects away from me, please. The Lions go next.

I’ll strike a deal with you, Omni. If the Lions screw this up, we drive towards each other and crash head on.

Woo Hoo, the Bears select Williams!!!

OVER RATED!!!
OVER… RATED!!!

So, Omni, Chris Williams. What’s the verdict?

Lions need to get Mendenhall.

So, what wide receiver do the Lions pick this year?

Ugh. Talk about a mixed blessing. We got the OT we needed but we took probably the 2nd best guy available. Part of me hopes that the Bears saw something in scouting that leads them to think he can be a stud, but I don’t know why they wouldn’t have taken the versatile guy in Albert since they need a OT and a OG.

I’m excited to see Brandon Albert fall. I’d love to see the Packers give up their 1st and one of their 2nds to move up and grab him.

The Lions had a crap running game last year and ditched their leading runner in the offseason, right? So naturally I expect they’ll take Limas Sweed…

Meanwhile Branden Albert has become the offical “slider” of the draft, although he’s far from Brady Quinn or Aaron Rodgers territory at this point.

I’m not sure I would love Branden Albert for the Eagles. Has a Guard ever switched to LT and been a dominant player? I don’t think a combo OL would be a good choice…

Shut **UP ** Steve Young! You’re not helping!

Well, no one has taken a WR yet…
