On this date in the MMP

Take a nap rose to the top of the list, so that is what I did.
Ravioli (canned) for dinner, I’m still tired and don’t feel like doing much.
I managed to wash two loads of laundry.

My second load of laundry is in the dryer. Counties near mine had the dubious pleasure of rolling blackouts yesterday (my county, with a different electricity provider, didn’t), so I’m concerned about power outages and thinking getting stuff done while I can is a safer move. In fact, this topic prompted me to start a third load, with towels.

I meant to ask you if you were being affected by the rolling blackouts.
I’m glad you’re not.

Tooth repair was… well, hasn’t happened yet. may have picked an unwise place, too. Kind of the first one that pops up on Google, which seems a bit high-tech fancy. I mean, it’s going to be expensive anyway. I’ve been neglecting it for a while. So they want to start with me Tuesday for the broken tooth at least. But I also still have my wisdom teeth and a few other teeth that need work. They quoted me $20,000 in all and… lol no. I do not have that nor can I ever dream of having it. So I’ll see on Tuesday what they can accomplish for a more reasonable price and if the price is solid, I’ll go elsewhere.

20K seems like an awful lot! Best of luck finding a better shop.

I have buzzed my hair, which has only been trimmed (by me) since February. Before: Think muppet. After: Think paramilitary science fiction. I had a little trouble with the fade, what with it being my first time using clippers.

Not yet, anyway. They don’t give much notice. On the plus side, my power company wasn’t affected yesterday, so we can hope that holds.

for old school, try Orsie’s in Little Italy: 621 Pacific St, Omaha, NE 68108
This is a bakery and there is no dining room.

Thursday, after my migraine Botox (UNMC), I’m thinking pizza. I mean, a girl has to eat, right? Then a freezer supply of bagels on the way home.

From UNMC, roll east on Leavenworth to 6th street and turn right. Under the railroad bridge and Orsie’s is right there on the corner. It is to go only.

Sounds easy. Thanks. My appt is at 11 so the timing is right for lunch right after.

I only do takeout nowadays! :pizza::pizza::pizza:+:bagel::bagel::bagel:

This will be my first big excursion since March 18th. First time leaving Lincoln city limits, want it to be memorable. You have certainly done your part!

Fortunately my neurologist is a laugh riot and if you are getting 37 injections around your face you need to laugh while doing it.:syringe::syringe:

Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) was watching a forensic crime show:"…drove out into the mountains, and dumped the body…"
I said to her, “If it were only that simple; drive out to the mountains and dump the body.”

boo and herald, I dropped Patricia Cornwell from my favored authors list when she brought Tyler Galt back from the dead and the personal life became all about her niece’s alcohol issues. I get balloon payment type books.

You did the smart thing with the milk metal mouse.

herald, one of the few kosher bakeries in this area is at the West Charlotte Avenue WalMart. :open_mouth: They also have a sizable kosher meat case.

suze, did you go from a #2 to a #3 guard for your hair? I used to use that combo for a former BF.

You’ll be wise to comparison shop for denistry dot. I saved around $400 bucks off my copay for one of my crowns that way.

I finished up the layout that I was working on in the studio this afternoon, finished the laundry and took Nelson to the dog park. We met another rat terrier - chihuahua mix there and they were very well suited playmates. Arby’s fixed supper (BTW, their sweet tater waffle fries are good) and now I’m doing a small project in the studio.

I dropped her when she brought Benton Wesley back from the dead.

You don’t dump bodies into the mountains, you dump them into sink holes… or hog pens.
But you didn’t hear it from me.

Dot, do you have a dental school near you. They are always reasonable, but a pita if you are in a hurry.

I agree with both of you. I had stopped reading her because of this and it seemed like she was trying to horrify for the sake of horrifying. After years of not reading I just read her last one because quarantine reading was running through my supply of books and I had to make do with what my library could offer. This last one wasn’t as bad. Previously she either lost her way or became full of herself. I don’t like either in my authors.

I second this. I don’t know where you live but this is an excellent option. Much less costly and the students do very good work. Where I am it is about half $ of what a reasonable community dentist would charge. If you tell them that you are in pain they will work you in faster. Some schools have faculty practices where you can get in even faster and are very reasonable also. I get my care in a faculty practice and he has referred my for root canals in the Dental College because they are much less in fees.

Again, I don’t know what your dental needs are but offhand $20,000 sounds beyond outrageous. Remember, their prices have to cover all that expensive advertising they bought so their name would come up first in Google. I’d urge you to cancel that appt and look around.

Also, you might ask the anesthesiologist who is doing the sedation for your ECTs what can be done to prevent any additional dental damage. Call it to their attention. Plenty is being paid for each session. Make sure they know you have a broken tooth so care can be taken to be sure a piece doesn’t break off and is inhaled into a lung. A bronchoscopy is the last thing you need. I’d had 3 series of ECTs over 10 years so I learned a lot of this the hard way. They are worth it though.

Well, I think I’ve been cheery enough for the time being.

Goodnight, sleep tight all.

Boo

Did the sort. di the second sort. Had to help out with the irregular boexes, buch of folks left early. Been dodging rainshowers all day, and trying to get Princess Pretty Paws do do his business.

Funny, I like sweet potatoes, and I like fried food, but I do not like sweet potato fries.

I got a pretty new case for my phone, and it arrived today, before I had a chance to scratch or crack my new phone!

Irk was … well, ah, uneven for some folks, but nothing that affected me directly so I stayed all “hakuna matata” and got thru the day.
Plus, I got cut an hour early when the line dwindled to nobody. Me, to boss: “Hey, I’m not gonna argue with you.” I worked O.T. hours this week, and I haz a tired.

Came home all early, pottered around my plants a while, and now have lots of pretty leaves pressing for insert unspecified project here. I have a vague idea for a window hanging thingie.

I also wasted enormous time on the SDMB so all is well.

Not that y’all care, but I have showered, shaved my legs, and thoroughly washed my hair. No effing point doing any of that before sweaty irk three days in a row. (No, not even the legs.) Now I am clean, and I have a bit of tuna ready to sear for dinner.
I have a Blessed Day Off tomorrow, and have a fresh rattie bin ready to go & have identified the lucky group getting moved to new, clean quarters. (That would be my “Sons Of Anarchy a.k.a. First Gen off the F—!ng Black Ears” and let’s just say their parents earned their nickname.)

Time for seared tuna dinner. Alert the kitties!

Just because of these names I’ll be checking out some of the other names on this list. I’m currently rereading Nevada Barr, also to get a bit of a travel fix.

Missed the edit window, so here’s two posts in a row.

I think at one point I agreed with my grandmother that I would get her collection of Rex Stout mysteries. Not sure what happened to that, but I don’t have the space anyway. Might see what’s available in an ebook format.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN Tis 74 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 94 and N.O.S. for the day. Today we return to in person deheathenization. I have ush duty for both services. OYKW says he’s attendin’ the first service and will then come back to da cave and start preppin/cookin’ N.O.L. which shall be beastloaf, fresh green beans, mac 'n cheese, and rolls. I also foresee some quality cee-mint pond time this afternoon. Thus shall be our Sunday.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!
