Southern Comfort.
Magic Hat #9
12 year old Jameson Irish Whiskey.
Once again assuming beer is not being considered, I’d say Knob Creek Bourbon. Smooth, yet still flavourful.
Baileys. No doubt about it whatsoever.
It’s tempting, but I’m going to have to go with Black Bush over the Jameson 1780 (12 year, blended). Of course, if money is no object, Midlleton Very Rare is the ultimate choice, but given that there’s only a limited quantity in the world (and once it’s gone, it’s gone) I’m going to have to go with Black Bush.
Mind you, I wouldn’t turn my nose up at a Bushmills 16 Year Old, a Redbreast, or even Jameson’s basic nectar. And I’m mighty tempted to pick a good single malt Scotch–Glenmorangie Portwood Cask is the current favorite–but I think the Irish whiskeys ride a little smoother.

Courviosier XO (extra old) cognac.
[Time Meadows in Ladies Man] Courvoisier…yes, that is the drink [/Tim Meadows]
I came in here to say vodka, but your powerful argument for gin has converted me. Particularly if I we still get wine, so I can keep my French 75.
Man, this thread is depressing: One booze? One beer?
I’m not much of a booze drinker, but my favorite seems to be whiskey. I’d have to get a consult on which brand to choose, but I can’t imagine living with less than two: one for sipping (straight up) and one for mixing (I love some 7&7s).
Yesterday I was at the store, staring at the beer selection, trying to decide which 12-pack to bring with me to an all-day poker game. I picked up some Stella and nearly walked out with it, but at the last moment I decided to go with Sierra Nevada. I think if I had to pick one beer forever I’d go with Sierra Nevada, but I definitely appreciate Stella Artois.
Life is full of hard choices.
Feel lucky that beer and wine are still allowed in abundance. I don’t think I could limit those to just one, although Sierra Nevada comes pretty close in actual comsumption percentages. But just one wine? I’d rather go without completely.
I’ll sit next to you. Bass Ale is my choice as well.
One booze forever is a topic that gives me nightmares, but I’ll echo MikeG and Large Marge with the Guinness. Or, if we’re talking hard liquor, Jameson’s.
Tequila. Great as a shot and great in a margarita. Hell, you can even put it on chicken!
Gin. Sapphire Gin. As long as i get a good set of mixers too.
And olives. I need olives too.
Wait. Vermouth isn’t a liquor too, izzit?
I have to go with Vodka. Probably a high-end one like Grey Goose, though Absolut Citron is what I consume in the largest quantities currently. It mixes with anything and goes down great straight. I like booze with more character like scotch and rum, but if you’re stuck with one thing versatility is king. Gin and rum cannot compete with the versatility that comes with Vodka.
Plus you can have Gnocchi alla Vodka (tomato vodka creme sauce).
Ah, the good things in life.
I’m partial to Glenfarclas. Try the cask strength one, it’s very, very smooth for something so potent. Too bad these
are so beyond my budget. I suspect I’d like them.
Has anyone tried this? It’s the only Lebanese beer in production, and it’s great. I finally managed to get my hands on some here in England. It was a joyful day.
But if I must choose one drink and one drink only, it’d be Arak . None of the commercial stuff; home-made, the way god intended it to be.
It’s a wine, which silenus has thankfully said is allowed.
As for myself, I’d like to go for gin (because after all, it isn’t really a Martini without gin ) but I’d probably opt for vodka given its greater versatility.
Ahh, since I can have all the beer and wine I want, I will in that case make my one liquor choice be Grey Goose.
I’d have to go with vodka as a nice all purpose alcohol, and you can flavor it.
If you could get a hold of juniper, etc. , just let them steep in your vodka and you get gin. I’d bet with some imagination you could recreate rum too. Scotch, forget about it, but I hate scotch anyway, so no loss there.
