One food/meal for the rest of your life - what would you choose?

You are correct on both counts. Try them both, and definitely try a bowl of Pho. Just pick the place that’s not a chain, and has the most Vietnamese patrons! You really can’t go wrong with this stuff. The only things I can think of to beware are the hot peppers you might find in the sandwich, and for ordering Pho, tripe is a popular ingredient. You can always order it without the tripe of course (unless you like that sort of thing!)

Hmmm. I was going to say steak, corn on the cob, twice baked potato, etc. but after thinking about, a grilled cheese sandwich (made with the Oscar Meyer ham and cheese loaf) and a big glass of ice cold milk.

“That’s easy. Pez. Cherry flavored Pez. The world’s perfect food”
paraphrasing Vern in Stand By Me

I’m really bad at remembering lines from movies. Maybe that line/question from the movie stuck with me, prompting this question even though I apparently stopped associating it with the movie at some point.

But, that’s funny - thanks for pointing that out!

Oddly enough, they don’t make cherry-flavored Pez anymore, at least not in the US. The main flavors are strawberry, orange, lemon, and grape, and occasionally you can find the new “Sour” Pez flavors, mint Pez (which I haven’t seen in a few years), and a new cola flavor that might have just been a temporary test. But I’ve only gotten cherry Pez from purchasing dispensers from Europe or Australia.

Since I never get tired of eating something I enjoy, the list would be too long to include everything. But in interest of answering, I’ll give you a few.

Lasagna
Macaroni and cheese (Kraft or homemade)
Cheesesteak Subs
The old steak, baked potato, salad thing
Fettucini Alfedo (although this diet wouldn’t last long… the heart attack would stop it)
Pizza
Calzones
Various Chinese foods…
The hell with it, that’s enough to give you an idea.

Could I make it a liquid lunch? If so, hand me a bottle of scotch. If you mean food, food, I’d probably go for a simple turkey sandwich on wheat bread with extra cheese.

Or shrimp, maybe. I don’t know.

Chef salad with bleu cheese dressing. Got my veggies, got my meat, got my cheese…I’m set.

As a libation, I’d like sweetened ice tea.

How specific does it have to be? One meal exactly the same, or variations on the theme?

Specifically: tortellini with pesto

Generally: Pasta (variety of noodles or filled pillows of goodness, pesto or cream or creamy red sauce), or pizza/calzones (variety of toppings/fillings)

I want to eat at Beware of Doug’s house. I’d even be willing to skip the martini, as I’m not much of a drinker, but eggs, caesar salad, steak, spinach salad and zabaglione every day sounds good. I think it’d take a while to get sick of that.

Variations are fine, I think. I was pretty generic in saying “sushi” - but I’d like to vary it with different rolls and/or different nigiri. Ideally, I’d eat at a sushi bar every night.

Hmm, that’s a tough one…

Oysters Rockefeller appetizer. Beef Wellington entree. Chocolate Bread pudding, Banana’s Foster or Creme Brulee for desert.

Or I could most definitely do Indian! Chicken Korma or Chicken Tikka Masala with Aloo Gobi as a side dish. And plenty of Nan bread…mmm. And maybe some Tandoori shrimp for good measure.

I’d also be fine with a Red Robin gourmet cheese burger and onion rings…

Sorry, I’m not feeling very decisive today

Pud Thai

I had to think about the dessert I’d go with – but then I recalled the clear winner. Blue Bell Banana Pudding ice cream.

Though I am interested in trying a Chocodile…

MMMM…potatoes served just about anyway, sauteed mushrooms, and Crab legs, for dessert…cheescake preferably chocolate

Pizza.

If no pizza, pasta.

Mmmmmm good eatin’s.

Chicken , rice , and a salad.

All 3 have endless variations, and I would be happy .

Waffles. Pasta. Pizza. Creme brulees. Salad complete with salad dressing- anything but ranch (eww). Yeah, I could survive on that for years.

Sushi’s easy. Anything can be considered a “topping” or “filling” for sushi (which, if I recall correctly, literally means “rice”), so you could eat sushi every day and never have the same meal twice. Oh, if only I could afford this option.

Ignoring the dietary consequences, I could pretty happily eat completely unseasoned steamed rice for the rest of my life if I could get the stickiness right. I enjoy cooking and like a wide variety of flavors, but something about the simplicity of sticky steamed rice just works for me.

If we’re taking nutrition into consideration, penne rigate al dente with chicken breast and broccoli sauteed in olive oil with a bit of granulated garlic and salt. Served with orange juice and with a banana for dessert, that probably covers most nutritional bases.
