Wifey came home early. I expected her around eight, but she came in about half an hour ago. The woman (one of her patients) who she was going to take with her was sick. Then she saw a sign on the freeway warning of an accident, and two lit-up ambulances sped past her. So she aborted and went to buy a Marie Callender Razzleberry pie. She’s preheating the oven now.
Up from naptime, having a martini, and cheese tortellini with meatballs. Spot and I were meowing at each other because I told him he couldn’t be on the kitchen counter(sitting on the clothes dehydrator is fine).
LOL. I walk/push/pull Irregs when I can. It really sucks for the drivers trying to deliver that stuff on non ground floor stops.
That picture indicates you’ve forgotten it’s Food O’clock.
Hippie, love the finished quilt!
Evening all. Ran the dishwasher while I was at the gym, so I have clean dishes now to eat off of for awhile. Think I’ll do 2 or 3 loads of laundry tomorrow, my sheets need changing and my underwear is at critical levels. Gas tank is showing I have 29 miles left but I only plan to drive to the gym and back tomorrow (about 5 miles total) and to the store/gas station (2.5 miles) on Firday when I’ll fill up. That’ll be the 34th day since I last filled the tank and it should be near exactly 500 miles covered, so be interesting how much gas it takes for a really empty tank to fill. And what I thought would be my first non-soccer week since New Years has some games needing referees, I’ll wait until Firday to see if other folks will take them, but I suspect I’ll be out there…
Hippy, that is a beautiful piece of work and may you sleep long and well beneath it.
Knots, bravo for trying and then be willing to go back and try some more. And no reason to feel shame, you have limitations (we all do in some form) and you need to respect them, and others need to respect your limits.
I don’t read GoComics, most of my comic reading these days are webcomics developed on the internet, haven’t read a ‘real’ comic in years now.
red, take your time and build your strength.
flyboy, I made a grilled ham-n-cheese for dinner tonight, didn’t turn the heat up on the griddle enough and it was rather soggy and falling-apart, but still edible. And sounds like Wifey ran afoul of Murphy and made a wise call to come home.
doggio, I feel for those drivers.
And that’s all for now, need to work my way though the You Tube line up so see all y’all tomorrow.
Could you check out a thrift store to see if they have something with a usable cord?
I ordered a microwave once when I lived in a walk up to avoid having to find a way (I couldn’t carry one up the steps) to get one upstairs. What was funny, the guy in brown knocked on my downstairs neighbor’s door (my alternate address) and wanted to leave it with her. My 76 year old neighbor told him that he needed to march that package up the stairs toot suite because I had no business doing it. ![]()
The ebook of my novel is live! The paperback will follow once I receive the CIP data block, add it, and upload it.
Someone had gotten into my Netflix account, changed the email associated with it. After an hour on chat, I finally got that resolved. Going to the bank in the morning to get that card replaced. yay.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s 52 degrees Ferret Height(11.11 Centipedes) and raining. I have a leak under the kitchen sink.
Yay!
Poo.
Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 9c/49f with a predicted high of 11c/52f and rain showers. Weather app says “It never fucking rains on the railroad. It’s all fucking sunshine and daisies between the fucking rails.”
I saw the pics on FB, it is a truly beautiful piece, I am in awe (as ever!)
I’m sure I could have squeezed a few more in, if I tried!
That is a very mixed emotional scenario. She is right to feel all of those things, especially to be angry and sad at the same time.
I have no idea what a Razzleberry pie is (I’m sure the google will tell me), but I’d say that was a much better night than bible study ![]()
knots I’m sorry the exercise programme wasn’t working out too well for you. Can you talk to one of the instructors and explain your pain issues? Perhaps they can work out something different for you that doesn’t cause you so much pain?
Hurrah!
Eeek! I hope you manage to get the account fixed and get a new card too. I’m glad we don’t have all this stuff at home, there seems to be no end of people stealing account into.
Yesterday’s meetings were kind of productive. My second meeting (with my erstwhile manager) did solve a couple of things and gives me a way forward with the issues I have with both my minions. There’s still a long way to go, and a future fight with HR, but I am not giving up on what I want for them.
We had sight of the seating plan for the new office, some of it is a bit odd so I told her what I thought of it and we’ve made a couple of changes. Still no date for the office move, the glass panels for the meeting room won’t arrive until 23rd March so we think it will be easter before we move in.
Went home without much drama, did my evening cat chores and had a bit of sofa time with Blossom before we went out. One of our friends had been to a new curry place near where we live so we thought we’d try it out. It’s an old Working Men’s Club that has been converted in a bar, restaurant and social club. We had some really good curry but their beer choices didn’t suit us so we stuck to diet coke. Afterwards, we went to the Newhampton Inn for a couple of drinks before heading home.
Today it’s just me and Troublesome Minion in the office so I hope she’s not going to be too difficult today!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 57 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 63 and rain beginnin’ around two p.m. OYKW wants to go to the GC for lunch so we shall go when it opens up at 10:45 for geezer lunch. That will take care of today’s main need to feed. We shall remain inside and dry for the rest of the day.
FlyBoy sounds like wife made a wise decision. Plus there’s pie. Life is good when pie is involved.
VanGo that truly sucks. Glad you got to Netflix account fixed. Hope the card replacement goes smoothly.
Lily yay for live ebook!
Red I shall do that. Lookin’ in thrift stores hadn’t crossed my mind. Thanks!
Now I need more caffeine and a little sump’n to nosh so’s I can take meds. I suppose I must also purtify and don attire acceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. I will people for the second day in a row. HARUMPH!
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Blockquote
Is the cord anything like a tieback for a curtain?
Yay!! Will you be sharing with us or do you prefer to remain anonymous (disassociated from Mumpers in general…
)
As exhausted as I was last night, I just couldn’t fall asleep. My legs were itchy (dry skin) and slathering cream on them didn’t help much. Then I woke around stupid o’clock for a bladder call, then again around 5, at which point I was up. Dammit.
Weatherwise, today will suck. Overcast, then rainy, not getting out of the 40s. I’m trying to decide between helping FCD organize stuff in his shop or sewing. I have no appreciable motivation, but I can’t sit around all day playing on my tablet… or can I???
No, I need to do something productive. Right?
Eye exam and new glasses tomorrow. I’ll be glad for new frames - the ones I have now have been a trial since I got them. They never fit quite right, and my attempts to correct that have led to misshapen frames. We’ll see how it goes tomorrow.
I’ve adjusted the tax withholdings from my pension based on this year’s bloated refunds. Which means they’ll change the tax laws for next year and we’ll wind up owing a metric buttload like we did last year. Honestly, there’s no reason to make the tax code so cryptic except to make work for tax preparers. I blame the H&R Block lobbyists. Dammit.
And so the day begins. What adventures await??
Happy Thursday!
I’m planning to get some knee pads for the RSB workouts. Coffee’s ready. Gotta go.
Thanks for the yays!
I try to keep my public worlds from colliding, but if anyone’s interested, message me.
I’ll say that it’s literary fiction, not a beach read–more The Name of the Rose than Where’d You Go, Bernadette.
wow! that is incredible! gorgeous!
susan, congratulations! and yes, worlds colliding is concerning. i do have dreams about that…
yest. was a good busy day. i had the day off, and a bit of a plan, lots of interruptions in my planned reading time.
i had a noon meeting i needed to work around. i went for noon, as that would give me time to wake up and get breakfast out. that did indeed work and was able to squeeze in a hair cut, between breakfast and the noon meeting.
i was able to resume reading after the meeting until 3pm when i went over to the pharmacy. the pharmacy was running late and was closed for lunch. back to the condo. then back to the pharmacy, then back to the condo. cats and i had a treat and back to reading. then a 7:30 meeting that went to 9:30 and back to reading after. nearly finished book. back to the office today, i will finish the book tonight.
That’s a lot!
You could go into afghan mode.
Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP. I’ll do a little houseirk and a load of laundry today, but messing around in the studio and reading shall take up the majority of my day.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
Mornin’, everyone.
It’s 41F and overcast outside. The day will remain mostly cloudy, with a daytime high of 50F.
Hippie, gorgeous work!
Lily, congratulations on the publication. I fully understand you not wanting worlds colliding. Your book sounds interesting.
Wheelz, I hope your wife’s position remains safe. I understand her feelings. They’re all valid.
Knots, I’m sorry the class is turning out to be painful, but hope you and the instructors can find a way to make it less so. Good on you for not giving up, too.
VanGo, I hope the card replacement is smooth and the accout the safe.
I need to get cracking on my taxes, too. I hate doing them.
The pups had their appointment. Buster has to go on a diet; he weighed over 100 pounds. So we cut his kibble beginning last night. We’ve got a two-week test prescription of Apoquel for them to see how it goes, and I also have a hard-copy prescription order to take to Costco if it works. No meds for yeast, but if signs continue, we can reassess in a couple of weeks.
Today is hair day, plus I’ll need to stop at the grocery store to pick up some carrots, onions and potatoes. I also need some vitamins. I think after today, I’ll be done with the “outing and abouting” for a day or so. I’ve been gone every day this week, and my RDOS cred is low as it is, anyway.
We finally heard from the surgical schedulers about Mr. Taters’ surgery. They were looking to see if the ophthalmologist even had availability in JULY. So, that’s not even a proper date. We can contact them if he’s agreeable to another doc doing the surgery. He’s got mixed feelings about it because he wants to see again, but this guy is supposed to be really good. And, as we all know, there is a high probability that the others won’t have a slot before July either. He’s pretty disappointed that it’s so far out. I told him it’s pretty common, but it didn’t make him feel any better.
Alrighty, time to finish my coffee. You all take care of yourselves.
I hope he can also get on a wait list.
I don’t know what it is either. Didn’t bother to Google it.
I don’t eat pie, but she liked the slice she had last night. ![]()
From Shari’s (chain restaurant), maybe. It’s a mixed berry pie.
Yes, the picture on the box showed mixed berries. I don’t know if there’s a single berry called a ‘razzleberry’.
