“So long” was <24 hours! I’ve taken my punishment in reading the thread then getting to the point where the first three pages were essentially put in the shredder due to the lies.
So, why do we believe you this time, Biotop? It probably doesn’t make a difference if the plan is to lynch IS and let him target his suspected wolf if he’s really the hunter, but it might help IS out.
I’ve lied the whole game and am secretly a super scummy person. Ha Ha. I fooled all of you. I’m not the Tanner, I’m…uh…somebody super evil. Since you think I’m the Tanner, you won’t vote for me and I’ll escape. ::insert nervous laugh::
Ok, so…where do we go from here? Assuming nobody is lying, there is a 66% chance Johnny B is a wolf. But of course, a wolf would lie, if there is one…or two. What’s the easiest thing to pretend to be? I’m assuming a Villager. Which unfortunately means I’m painting myself into a logical corner. But it could have been Hooker Chem so now Prof. P.…
We wait to see if hookerchemical changes claim in light of being switched. If hooker is a wolf then things get clearer in terms of what to do.
Funny thing is when I was fake claiming I considered switching hookerchemical and prof p. But I decided to switch two unknowns instead for better odds of hitting a wolf.
I think I discovered a loophole. If you look carefully at the rules, if there are no werewolves and the Tanner dies, then we all go out for ice cream! Or Denny’s because Denny’s is for winners. So vote for me. Wolverine 2015! Wolverine 2015!
(at this point, I’m just posting for fun because I’m already out of it unless Biotop is double secret lying)
Except that there’s no compelling reason to believe that he is. Mahaloth is as close to confirmed as we’re going to get, unless we’re in a situation where literally everybody is lying just for the shits and giggles of it.
I think there are plenty of reasons to lie in this game:
Wolf #1: Has to lie
Wolf #2: Has to lie
Tanner: Has to lie
Hunter: Probably will lie or else his hunter power is neutralized.
Seer: Probably should lie early on. Has extra information that will enable him to spot lies.
6.Troublemaker: Lying gives a real chance to spot other liars or prompt a wolf to give himself away.
Robber: If the Robber steals a wolf or tanner role (or one of the above), then he has reason to lie.
Insomniac: Might well lie if the new role is one of the above.
Others (and some of the above) might lie early because their roles are not completely determined. If one finds out later on that one is a wolf, having the truth out early could be very damaging.
“Shits and giggles” would be a crummy reason to lie.
Another way of looking at it is *why should anyone tell the truth * early on?
In regular Mafia only the wolves lie. But in this game, not only are there many roles with good reason to lie, but also no one knows FOR SURE which side he is on (except the insomniac).
Yes, but we’re not early on anymore. We’re long past the point where we should have just gotten on with things.
This game is about making deductions based on trains of evidence. Eventually everyone who knows they are town needs to put the actual facts on the table so that town can make the best possible decision.
I cannot see any reason for you to lie about anything **TexCat **. Your role is almost certain. Of course, you and JB could both be wolves, but that would mean that either the real Drunk and the real Robber are not in the game, or that the real Robber stole your role (or JB’S) and thus would surely keep quiet…and the Drunk is not in the game or is unrevealed.
**Mahaloth **and Wolverine only need the seer not to be in the game for their wolf team to be possible. (OR that the real seer has not revealed himself yet).
I am sorry, but I realize there is a rule that I forgot to post. I realized there might be a couple of roles this could be important to. You may not vote for yourself.
