I’m putting my chips on Prof. P. I think he’s the wolf and that Biotop and Hooker are being truthful.
I’ll reiterate. There’s no reasonable theory with IS as a wolf. I was a wolf. If I’m a solo wolf, IS is not the other wolf. If Biotop is the other wolf, IS is not a wolf.
I had been reasonably comfortable thinking that I was the only wolf and that the lynch was going to be IS. At the time, it appeared that he was town and I would have won as wolf. (Maybe he would have had the opportunity to get a follow-up kill, but I think the odds were with me there as well.)
Unless you’re voting for him as an abdication of responsibility. In which case, his current claim of villager will also mean a town loss.
I feel a major problem I have with Biotop is why did he counterclaim me with a lie. I can’t reconcile that with any pro-village motivation. I can see a village Biotop counterclaiming me because I lied, but such a village Biotop should have counterclaimed with the truth.
If Biotop was savvy enough to see the benefit of lying about who he switched, then he would be savvy enough to see why someone who is not the troublemaker would post a lie as well.
Also, I’d like to get this wrapped up today. I don’t want this game bleeding into my weekend. The game doesn’t have to end today, but I don’t plan on participating anymore after 5PM EST.
I feel similarly re: participation. Both because I think people’s patience is wearing thin and I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m gearing up for christmas and will be mostly spending the next week with family and not thinking about the internet.
I’d already suggested ending the game today.
Since you asked for a clarification. I assigned the three unassigned roles letters (A, B, and C). If anyone needed to look at or take an unassigned role, I asked them which letter they wanted and revealed the appropriate information. If a wolf is the only wolf and gets to see what one of the unassigned roles is, it is possible that they could pick the other wolf role.
To everyone, I can see that I made this game too long. I am sorry. I did not expect it to be so active so quickly. That said, I do not want to change the end time from what I initially established. I will now set a definite time. Please have your votes in by 1:00 pm Central Time on Monday, December 21st.
There is no way that I can post a proper defense from my phone during my lunch half hour at work. I understand the general frustration because I feel it acutely as well. I wish I understood why **Inner Stickler ** lied so much if he is a simple villager. “Shits and giggles” doesn’t cut it. But I have to assume that **HookerChemical ** would now tell us the truth if **IS **was a former wolf partner.
I will post a defense later though it sounds like a lot of folks will not be around to read it. Oh well.
Gotta remember this is just a game.
I really don’t think that my choices have been all that much outside the conventional wisdom of ONUW play, but I’m willing to accept that with the translation to a forum and with a group of dopers as players I went from 0-60 too quickly.
Can you explain what conventional wisdom says is the point of fake claiming seer like you did?
I kinda get seer. It helps flush a conformable role. It’s hunter I don’t get.
That’s poorly worded. It helps flush other players roles using a role that will later be claimed and confirmed by somebody else.
Given the current climate in this game, I think this post will be about as popular around here as a radio station playing “Christmas Shoes” over and over… but,
I guess it is time to finally tell the truth.
I am not the Troublemaker. I have never been the Troublemaker. I am, and always was, the Hunter.
The Hunter has to lie or lose the extra power that he has. I never had to worry about everyone being so suspicious of me or so mad at me they would vote to lynch me, because I still would retain the power to try and kill the right person if I ended up in the noose .
If my lies did help identify the wolves, so much the better. And of course early on I had to keep in mind the possibility that my role might have been changed. We all had to worry about that.
I think my fibs turned out to be helpful. Sorry about the lies, HookerChemical, but I had to play to win the game. You are the Wolf, and probably a lone wolf. I do not completely discount the possibility that either **snfaulkner **(improbable) or **Inner Stickler **(possible) is a wolf-mate.
But I think at this point if any of them suddenly claims to be the REAL troublemaker, then we can safely discard that claim.
I had to wait some time after HookerChemical said he was a wolf to claim my Hunter role. I, of course, was very suspicious of Inner Stickler because he was claiming my true Hunter role at the time. Why was he lying? Most likely it was because he was a wolf, I thought. But what if he was really the Troublemaker? So I waited.
But I am now convinced that if **IS **was the troublemaker, he would have confessed if only to point out my lie. Should he confess such a thing now, after so much time has elapsed, I don’t see how he can be believed.
The best part of this is that now you do not have to believe me. VOTE FOR ME. I am either the Hunter as I claim, or a lying Wolf with a crazy scheme. In either case, the best vote is to vote for me. I will vote for** Hooker **and Town will win.
I was concerned a while back that both Mahaloth and Wolverine were both wolves and were lying. This was not impossible. Tanner was a role no one would claim. Yes, Mahaloth would have had to have been lucky to pick a Seer role that someone else was already falsely claiming and then have that role not actually be in the game. But it is not all that improbable —given that is exactly what I did with the troublemaker role! However, once Hooker claimed to be wolf, that theory no longer seemed possible. If Hooker is not a Wolf, why would he lie about being one?
Therefore, the starting roles:
Texcat: Robber
Johnny Bravo: Drunk
Hooker Chemical: Wolf
Snfaulkner: Villager (or very unlikely Wolf)
Inner Stickler: Villager (or possibly Wolf)
Prof. Pepperwinkle: Mason
sachertorte: Mason
Mahaloth: Seer
Wolverine: Tanner
Biotop: Hunter
(Unused Roles: Troublemaker, Insomniac, Wolf …or Villager if the other wolf is still in the game)
If you have any questions let me know and I will answer truthfully . I have laid all my cards on the table. Vote for me if you have any doubt. Vote for me if you believe me. The only reason I would lie about this is if I am a Wolf. We have already outed the Tanner. And if any other “troublemaker” comes along now, when they have had plenty of time to call out my earlier lies, I hope they will be disregarded.
Props to sachertorte, who saw through my troublemaker lie. I should have showed more outrage at your “false” claim if I was truly the troublemaker, but at the time I was just fishing and didn’t realize I would have to stick with that false claim for most of the game. I assumed you were telling the truth!
Special apologies to** Professor Pepperwinkle**, who had to endure more false roles than anyone should have to endure. You are a Mason. You have always been a Mason.
Vote for Biotop!
or …HookerChemical.
I don’t see how either of you can be believed.
Fine. Vote for me.
This has been a romp. I hope Biotop is who he says he is this time.
But, truth be told, I am… Batman!
I think the best winning strategy is to all vote Biotop. If he is a werewolf, that is an acceptable outcome. If he is the Hunter, he can vote to kill me. Win-Win all around.
…but what if, somehow, Biotop’s the Tanner?
Just in case you are not joking Batman…
Mahaloth and **Wolverine **would have to both have been lying. But if this really concerns you, vote for HookerChemical.
Ah, Biotop, by now you should know the Batman is not the Joker.
