One of the stories of Krishna - a romantic MMP

(yes it does sound bad)
so. you’re gonna stand on a corner with a sign that says “will whizz for work”

No time to read yet this morning, but I wanted to tell y’all to uncross appendages for Rebo-boy. He starts work today at a new place. Since he’s a waiter, he has to train at minimum wage for a week, but then starts earning tips after that. Hopefully he won’t be too short on the rent! Not too shabby, lose job on Saturday, start new one on Thursday!

Gotta go do some work. I’ll be back later…

Not quite. This was when I let Loki out for his morning pee at the crackofohmygawd. The last thing I need at that time of day is a hyperactive boxer trying to chase Pepe LePew around the barn…

I did inventory of the jewelry I have made up so far. A partial list:
Bracelets over $4 - 97
Bracelets under $4 - 61
Bracelet/earring sets - 22
necklaces - 20
necklace/earring sets - 25

That doesn’t include any of the stuff that is going to be priced higher than $10 or so. I need to make up some more cheap bracelets but I am close to being finished with beading. Now I must get on to pricing.

I have cramps, damnit. Feels like this is going to be a bad month. Anyone got any spare pain pills? I can’t take Aleve or any of the other NSAIDs, so I am stuck with Tylenol. Which doesn’t help for squat. So just shove 'em through the CD slot. Warn me first so the cats don’t get them and slap them under the bookcase.

Quite simple, really. This way.

Just checking in between interviews and insane cleaning binges. Still alive, didn’t get eaten by anything at last weekend’s camping trip, the dog didn’t run off, and I barely even got a sunburn. Roomie is probably going to get her unemployment money–we should know in a couple days, so all is not lost.

And now, yet another interview for a job I most likely won’t get. I miss you guys!

Morning! Gee, you miss a couple days of work, and everything piles up.

I had a dream I was shooting hoops in my old high school gym, and this really pretty girl kept smiling at me, but I was thinking “damn, she’s probably 30 years younger then you pal, stay AWAY” and I did.

But then the ball got loose by a stairwell, and when I went over to get it, there was a big painters tarp piled up there,. and I saw a human hand (eek) sticking out.

Then the alarm went off.

Then Cuervo licked my nose again.

Mornin’ all. Caffeine being delivered to my vital bits. Thanks ev’rbody for the kudos. Feels good to know I’m appreciated. (But not in that way. Honestly, you people…)

Phones are still down. Whatta pain. I feel sorry for our poor receptionist. In the absence of our normal computerized queuing system, she has to play traffic cop, which means she takes every freakin’ phone call that comes in and has to direct it to wherever the person on the other end says they want to go. Now, she’s just about the nicest, softest-spoken, most mild mannered – one might even say timid – human being ever to tread lightly, but today being Thursday (traditionally our busiest day of the week) I have to think that she’ll be about ready to go positively medieval round here by end of business. She’s in her 60s, but I have the funny feeling that, pushed hard enough, she could make Chuck Norris soil himself with but an edgy glance.

In other news, I’m eating a small square of baklava for the first time in my life. Pistachio, if it matters. It’s different. A billion ridiculously thin layers of phyllo pastry with a layer of some kind of sweetened nut paste and honey and just a hint of saltiness. It’s nice! I couldn’t eat more than a square or two at a time, but it makes for a nice change of pace.

Ugh. Back to work. Traffic is piling up. I’m going to go hide the sharp cutlery.

Wow, SCL, good for you. We want a full report on how the craft sale stuff goes. I hope you make lots and lots of money.

Heff, I hope you don’t get sick. rigs, it sucks that you still feel crappy. Good that you’re going to the doctor soon.

Haze, I have read all of the Kushiel books. The latest, second in the second trilogy, hardbound and brand-new, is sitting on my couch right now. I borrowed it from work, and read it mostly yesterday. It was fun. The whole series is fun.

Yesterday I vacuumed, mopped, and got the kitchen a little tidier. My energy is starting to come back a bit with no-throwing-up. I’m hoping we’re starting to ease out of morning sickness. Today I think I’ll tidy, and maybe see if my Mum wants to go out for lunch later.

The damn doctor has not called back yet. Therefore, nothing is urgent.

Ugh. I’m bored. We’re testing stuff here at work, but it’s such slow going. Change database name, hit go. Wait a couple hours. Change name. Hit go. Wait. And I can’t do too much other work because anything else would slow the process down even more, and we really need to get it done by end of day today. Two of us are doing this so that means two people sitting around bored, just waiting for the system to run stuff. Ugh.

LiLi, you’re a domestic goddess from the getgo. How the hell are you going to know that TinyNinjaChef’s download is imminent if you clean yer diggs 3 times a day already? :dubious:

Jeesh.

Get well wishes for Heff and Rigs.

I peed for the nice lady. There were five people waitin’ to pee for her. Three of us were peein’ for Miller. The other two, I dunno but I guess they had their reasons. We were discussin’ the times for our physicals tomorrow. Turns out I got the early draw with 7:15 A.M. Since their first shift starts at 7 A.M. maybe that means I can prove I could be there at that time and I’ll get a first shift. I’d like that. One can only dream.

ACBG called. He’s cravin’ pizza for lunch. So Ima go meet him at the good pizza buffet place at 11:30 so we can beat the lunch rush. They also have pretty good lasagna on the buffet, so YUM!

You want to be at work at 7 am, Ursinus Weirdus? Oy. That’s almost as bad as Papa Tigs. Who gets to work around 6 am, and by 7 has already been in two or three meetings. How can people even think that early in the day?

I almost saw 7 am myself this morning, of course – I totally ran out of steam last night and gave up and went to bed at a reasonable hour (for working on Hill drivel, that is). Then I got up at 7:30 and finished up. I am now seriously contemplating going back to bed for a couple of hours; two short nights’ sleep in a row and I do not get along well, to put it mildly.

Yay for having more energy, LiLi! And for not throwing up, of course. Here’s hoping it continues.

Will you get me some milk while you’re out, gt?

Time to go do something constructive. Like sleep some more.

Rigs and Heff - will you pair stop hogging The Sick and pass it round a bit? I’m sure there are plenty of other people waiting for it. Heck, we’ve got a couple of million unemployed in the UK who swear blind they’ve got The Sick too.

'im indoors has just been to the dentist to get a new crown fitted to a broken tooth and he’s spending the afternoon bimballing around town looking at gadgets. Can’t you tell he’s got too much cash in his account and can’t work out what to do with it? I should give him my list.

Nayway, he reckons that since I missed out last night, we should meet up on the way home and have a snifter or two of Roaring Meg. Who am I to refuse?

LiLi and Haze - I have the Kushiel trilogy at home too, it was excellent trashy reading, I think the third book lasted a day. Well, it was cold and wet outside, what else was I supposed to do?

Back from servin’ mi’ country. Went to work instead of home :frowning: Busybusybusy. Interesting anecdote later…

**Mindfield **-- Mmmm, baklawa…

All the sick people get well. All the well people, don’t get sick. Swampy, congrats on hitting the target

H&R – thanks for the clarification; I think you were the only denizen here whose gender I wasn’t sure of. On second thought, I’m not quite sure about **Mindfield **either (she? I think?)

Well, some real (not army) coffee, a bit of work, and I’ll be back.

Ah, but BooFae, there’s a second Kushiel trilogy now, about Imriel de la Courcel. You need that one too. The books pulished so far are Kushiel’s Scion and Kushiel’s Justice.

Mindfield’s a guy. I’m pretty sure.
Baklava is one of the best things in the world. There’s a place on Lawrence at Warden, a Lebanese/French patisserie, that does the best baklava I’ve ever had. Buttery, sweet, nutty, delicious.

I’m going out for lunch. Do I want poutine, Indian, Armenian, Vietnamese, or something else?

Mindfield’s a guy. And a funny guy at that. I’ll see if I can hunt up a very funny post he once posted in response to a similar question.

And what’s this? We’re back down to a 60 second search wait time?

Baklava! Yummy.

roo, on that plate of lettuce, do they garnish it with bacon and/or anchovies, since they’re not meat, but condiments? :smack:

I really liked the first Kushiel trilogy, but I only made it halfway through Kushiel’s Scion and stopped reading because I was bored with the whiny bitch. Does Imriel *ever * stop whining? If he does, I’ll slog on through.

Thanks, LiLi, I was just wondering what to do with the £75 in book tokens I’ve got left over from my birthday! I’ll add them to the list.

In other news, I just checked my Uni site and it tells me I’ve passed my last course. Woo. And hoo. I shall officially be out celebrating tonight.
