Sure, I’d appreciate it!
I’ll just go and get my pointy stick…
Um… I’ve got mine already… but… You’ve got a “pointy stick,” too? (d&r)
Special1, I have a pointy stick for every occasion!
Waitaminute, I thought you mages were supposed to have a stick with a knob on the end… nobody said anything about pointy!
Well, then since the 4 of us are here already… maybe you pair up with **swampy **(he’ll appreciate your pointy stick!) and I’ll make do with Nava?
“Pointy stick”. A new euphemism. Great.
Morning, everyone. I’m glad you’re all busy flirting and fighting and stuff. Mr. Lissar is home with a very bad headache, so I can’t put the air conditioner on until he gets up, and it’s hot. Maybe if he hears the siren song of the teakettle…
Waiting to see if I throw up. I don’t wanna.
How can I pair up with Swampy if I’m being referree and ensuring fair play? I have to keep an eye on him anyway, just to make sure he doesn’t cheat and use ACBG’s pointy stick or stick-with-a-knob-on-the-end
LiLi, hope you decide not to throw up today. I’m sure the tea kettle will work wonders for both of you and Mr Lissar will be so grateful that someone’s made him a nice cuppa.
Time I was elsewhere, I have to make butties for tonight’s butty-pull. Oh, the excitement, it’s nearly too much for me.
No puking LiLi , that’s an order.
How’d that work?
Ok, off to get breakfast and spend the day on a golf course, in the perfect, cloud free 84 degree weather.
Pity me.
Oh, and free beer all day.
And dinner’s included.
And lunch.
See y’all tomorrow!
So what is an appropriate greeting here, these days? Good day, I suppose, unless it’s already night where you are. This global MMP is hard on my brain!
I just read the whole MMP, and I can’t remember hardly anything! Some highlights that have stuck with me: (next time I’ll make notes!)
Glad your eye is fixed up, FCM!
I hope your bro will be ok, Mika.
Cool music, Mork.
Stanstead is a cutie, BooFae.
Special1 - you are so funny! I’m glad you’re here!
I have to share this recipe. It’s so good and so easy! (It’s from The Food Network’s Sandra Lee, but I tweaked it a bit…)
1 cup sliced carrots ('cept I used baby carrots cut in half)
8 oz whole small button or baby bella mushrooms
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can cannelini (white) beans, rinsed
Mix all that in a crockpot. Then season up:
4 thick cut boneless pork chops with:
1 tsp herbes de provence (equal measures of parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme)
salt and pepper
Place on top of veggies.
Mix in a bowl:
1 can cream of potato soup
3 tbs sherry
2 tbs dijon mustard
1 tbs tomato paste
salt and pepper
Pour on top, and cook on low for 6-8 hours… Yum!
We had that last night with rice and green beans. The meat was falling apart it was so tender.
Another slow day here at work. I hate that!
Morning, all. Or afternoon, or evening, or whatever you want to call it. Me, I call it morning whenever I pry myself out of bed. Which this morning was a big challenging cause I stayed up waaay too late last night finishing a short but annoying transcript that I’d been struggling to make myself finish for three days. I kept getting sidetracked. Like by making FSM another noodly appendage. (a couple more to go and he’s all ready to be sewn together – meatballs are made and stuffed – he’s gonna be gorgeous!
)
Anyway, you all behave yourselves with the sticks, pointy or otherwise, and the appreciatin’, of the Jawja kind or otherwise! Am I gonna have to get all medieval on all y’all’s asses and make you behave yourselves like ladies and gentlemen? :dubious:
I forgot to say I’m sorry about your bro, Meeks. I hope things work out for him. Sounds like a tough situation, but I’ll be sending good thoughts his way to get through it all okay.
I hope our folks with medical issues are doing better, too. You guys did such a good job of sending good MMP thoughts my way when I was recovering from my surgery that it’s only fair we do the same for everybody else! You guys rock, in other words!
Sounds like you’re going to have yourself a cat soon, BooFae. We took in a dog for a while whose situation was like that – this gorgeous, friendly collie who kept running around the neighborhood, and he picked Papa Tiger as the person he wanted to go home with. After a couple of weeks of him still just hanging around, we invited him into the yard, fed him and found a collie rescue to adopt him out, got him to the vet to get fixed and treated for mild heartworm infestation, and then fostered him tlil the rescue found him a new home. Last we heard, he was living the good life – he was adopted by a single guy living upstairs from his own machine shop, who nursed the dog (who we named Buddy because he wanted to be everyone’s friend) through his heartworm, took him to work with him every day, and did agility with him in the evenings and on weekends. Happy endings all around, yay! He was such a sweetheart. We would have kept him if we didn’t already have two big dogs; we 'd at the thought of vet bills and food and such for three of 'em.
Okay, back to work. On a much, much nicer job this time. Don’t have too much fun today, everyone!
Does that involve quarterstaffs?
Quarterstaffs, half staffs, bass clefs*, you name it…
*A musical joke, for those of you unfamiliar with the term
bass clef? I suppose that’s better than having it shaped like a treble clef…
A treble clef? Now that wouldn’t feel very nice!!
Bass clef? There’s musical symbology shaped like the king of freshwater sportfish?
bass clef.
I’m home today. I had one of my rare bouts of Restless Leg Syndrome and couldn’t fall asleep until at least 4 AM. I am afraid it’s at least partially caused by stress. And partially caused by the heat.
My poor SO was all worried about me. I kept telling him to go to sleep. I ended up sleeping in the living room, and even then it wasn’t “sleeping”. Ugh.
But with only that much sleep under my belt I wasn’t going to tackle work. Plus I have about 10000 sick days which i never use.
Bleh. Hungry now.
Mmmmm, sounds good, rebo, but why do I keep hearing Simon and Garfunkle???
Spec1, see what you have done? We just had the bear to where he was managable and there you go encouraging him.
Yes, biotigs, pointy sticks, indeed! I believe a few “harummphs” are called for.
Just learned this AM that my former department head, a fixture of the company, has resigned. I thought he would be here till the end. (He’s only five or six years from retirement.) Just goes to show ya.
Today begins monthly billing Hell.
That is all.
Tupug
Anaamika, get your doctor to prescribe something for your RLS. I make Mirapex, which is expensive as hell but is worth it. And yes, stress does aggravate mine.
Mr. SCL’s nephew just dropped by; he wants us to take in the cat he adopted and now can no longer keep. I told him he’d have to talk to the boss, neatly sidestepping that decision. I don’t mind taking in another if my herd will accept him, but I really don’t need another one.
Back to beading…
