One-Syllable Challenge Redux: What Do You Do For A Living? (Game)

I yell at kids and take their pride and joy and ego and crush it like a grape. I teach about the Past Old World (North)(West)(Pale). I coach word fights, as well.

I once was RED HORSE (Air Force). I now work on AFRC staff.

That’s all I got. My bad . . .

Tripler
Yup. Boring indeed.

I like your style, but could you crush souls? Cause that would work.

I test games. I get a game, play it at work, and write down all the stuff it does wrong. Like, if the game turns off when it’s not meant to turn off. I write that down and give it to the folks who made it. They go back and change it in the game, then give it back to me. I look to see if its fixed or not. It is not rare to find that, when they fixed it, they broke the game in new ways.

The games I work on now are for small kids, but my last job I worked on games that let you kill folks for cash. I wish I still had that job. Eight hours at my new job makes me want to stab Dora in the eye with a knife.

I eat their souls. Trés yum, they are.

Don’t have a cow dere, eh?

I love that your pols get to say what they think is right, not like ours who are just heads that spout words that big biz pays them to say. (For the most part.)
Stay with the Red Leaf? Non! Oui!
Unite two men or two chicks? Sure!
Pay for all folks’ meds? Why not? It’s the kind and right thing to do.
Mop up when States screw up in dumb wars? What choice do we have when the world needs help?
It makes so much sense to me, a poor prol, but the big wigs - they don’t get it.

Great thread.

Note that it’s cash and the gov that makes me mess up all the time? Damn it all to hell!

I work for a firm which acts as front man (sales, credit and ship) for small drug firms. They come up with the drugs, we do all else, sort of. For close to 100 firms. I work as a credit rep. I call or e and ask other firms to pay us the cash they owe my three firms. I make a lot of stuff on sheets with lots of boxes and numbers. I seem to spend a lot of time in small rooms with other people on my team and my boss. A waste of good Dope time, if you ask me.

I learn, from books, and from those who teach. Games are what I learn of - how to make them work, and how to make them so that they aren’t crap. It is great fun. One day, I hope to make said games. I stop with the books next year, and try for a real job (if it is a ‘real job’ to be paid to make games, at least).

Now that I have looked at the list of posts, I see one whose job is what I hope for one day. To you, the name of whom starts with a P and ends with an O, I tip my hat - you have the best job of all! The ‘make games at home’ part - I have that made - the ‘get paid for it’, though, is a thing I can just hope for one day. It might take some time.

clucks tongue, shakes head

When you point to a part of you and say, “It hurts here,” I take a film of it to show the doc.

I study. I study a lot. I add random numbers a lot too. I also take tests way too often. I read often too. Did I say that I study? A lot? But if I study, then room and board money shows up in my bank. So I study.

I also check out books to law students. I shelve books when they are brought back. I clean up from students who sneak food past me. I have fun herding students out when closing. It is busy during finals, and firm hiring. I know all the law firms in Houston now. I get to surf the 'boards when I am not with students. I like my job.

Like the one in the last post, I learn. I learn how things fly and how to make things that (should) fly. One day, I will use what I learn now to make things that fly for real but 'til then, I serve food to those who live one the school grounds.

Hi-Ho Hi-Ho it is off to work I go.
I code, I code and some help desk too.
There is time to surf the dope,
so glad I am to code all day.

Jim

I teach school for big kids, the ones past high school. They type on keys, they write much code, I bleed red ink on their work. If they try to cheat, they soon feel hurt – the Wrath of Bob.

I like this break, but new term starts soon. Ack!

Not all of them, to be sure. The crop we have now and the bunch we had up to the last vote talk out of both sides of their mouths all day. That’s why I work for the bunch I do: because we don’t do the same, by my lights.

Bzzzz! Sorry!

But you work hard, so we say, “Nice try!”

I work part time. Right now I am in charge of the train. I say what stuff to send on the train and when to send it. The stuff I send goes from the train to a ship, and is sent to far parts of the world. You might use the stuff I send - nay, you must! You might write on our stuff, or print on our stuff, or wrap things in our stuff. You would have seen a box made of our stuff. It’s made from trees, and most of it is brown or white, thick or thin. Some of it is made from old, used stuff that has been sent back to us.

Last time I was at work here, I made sure we charged the right price for trucks, trains or ships to take our stuff to those whom it was made for. I type, I add up, I make graphs, I check to see if we have erred. Not just that, but I take phone calls too!

D’oh!
