I got George in before the timer expired. :smack:

And 15 seconds goes a lot faster than I thought it would.

whew! I regretted my earlier post thinking that the subsequent replies would be along the lines of “pfft! Clearly you don’t belong here!”

For what it’s worth I got (I think) most of the literature questions. Missed the Eames question (please don’t tell my prof from 2 semesters of furniture design…yoiks!). I know the capitol of North Dakota, but not for whom it’s named…I did type Otto von, but that can’t be it, can it?

According to Wikipedia, Edwinton was renamed to Bismarck in 1873 in honor of the German Chancellor.

Am I an idiot for spending 10 seconds thinking that the capital was Pierre (South Dakota), then furiously pounding in Otto von Bismarck at the last second?

Not as dumb as I am for remembering that it starts with a B and that Billings is a state capital… of, what, Montana? Argh!

Heh. Billings is the largest city in Montana; but the capital is Helena.

Transcript up, with answers, here.

By my count, and memory, I got 29. Rats.

Sigh, I think I blew it. I kept thinking of things just after the buzzer. Four years of Latin including Latin Freaking Prose Composition and I can’t come up with “infinitive”? And I’ve been to that stupid museum.

There’s a museum of infinitives?

31, I think.

What’s a passing grade?

That beats my 26… :D.

I did freeze up on several of the questions, but there were others that I really should have known. But, all in all, I didn’t do too bad. I did enjoy the experience and will be more comfortable next time.

29 or 30 I think. Quite a few :smack: on review.

I got 28. Blurg.

That’s not good. Last time out I got 40.

30-32: there are a couple answers I know I only typed partially before time was up

I didn’t want to be on the show anyway…I’d be too stage frightened to ever ring in, and I’d wager the wrong amount on final Jeopardy anyway. I’ll stay in my livingroom shouting at the TV.

I’ll take the test next time it comes around on the guitar just in case…

Booyah, my biggest guess comes in!

I think I got a 34.

Spit. 32. Unless I typed “Boggs” instead of “Bonds,” which at this point I cannot recall…

I’m at 32 or 33, and I’m happy with that for sure.

Eh, 32, I think. Frustrating…

Question: the transcript has “anxiety” for the word from the Latin angere. I put “angst”. There is dissension in that board about the right answer - opinion here?

23!?!?!? I got a friggin’ 23?!?!?
Oh, just shoot me now.

I also put “angst”, and if they give me credit for “Nairobi” instead of “Kenya” (Raila Odingo question)(doubtful) that will bring me up to 50%.

Pffffffffffft.

I’m online and ready to log in…

Best of luck, not-competing-with-me Midwesterners!
