Any political movement with key participation from the creator of the “Got Milk?” campaign can only be up to no good.
Dear God. I’m having flashbacks to … well I can’t remember what exactly, but does anyone remember what month it is?
So you’re saying that the link in the OP is a real and legitimate indicator of the beliefs, worth, and mindset of liberals in general (which is definitely what the OP is stating in his analysis)?
If so, why?
Brutus, it would be nice if Hydro would return and respond to those posters who have pointed out some, ah, questionable statements he made in the OP.
Of course, you have posted nothing of worth in this thread (or any other, for that matter), so feel free to ignore the legitimate comments regarding Hydro’s post.
The OP posts a story of Hollywood liberals getting together to hold a ‘Hate Bush’ conference. Liberals did it, not conservatives. Coservatives have nothing to do with this OP. That virtually every post following the OP is about something other than the fact that Hollywood liberals are going have a ‘Hate Bush’ conference is telling.
As for the mindset of liberals in general, of course it this conference is indicative of the liberal mindset, in general. Liberals like to pretend that they are nuanced and unbiased, but their views are painfully easy to enumerate. ‘Hive-mentality’ is fairly accurate when talking about the ‘liberal mindset’.
Could all be compensation…Oh, wait! He’s a Texan, is he not? Well, that pretty much settles it. Must have been thinking of London Calling
Do they? I mean, the statement, “I’m a liberal”, or the statement “I’m a conservative” itself indicates bias. A lot of liberals do tend to think that their biases are objectively right and that any intelligent, neutral person would adopt them, but conservatives say the same thing about their beliefs.
And, for the record, I’m liberal, hate Bush, and never supported Stalin, Pol Pot, or the Viet Con (or their more successful allies, the Viet Cong).
Brilliant point, Brutus! I’m excited about your offer to build strawmen for us in the village square. I know it’s painful, but why don’t you “enumerate” my views as liberal? In general, I’ll tell you how right you are, in general.
Hmm. Upon rereading the OP, I notice that Hydro characterizes this meeting as a “Hate Fest”. From Drudge:
While the event is poorly named, I don’t believe it fits the definition of a “hate fest”. Strategizing and discussion are activities not often associated with a festival of hate.
Look at the list of those invited: founders of political action committees, protest organizers, political documentary producers. People involved in politics. And while they may, in fact, hate the policies of the Bush administration, this does not make the event a “hate fest”, nor does it preclude them from having legitimate discussions about the direction of America and strategies for advocating their viewpoints during the upcoming election.
This is a non-issue. This event does not out liberals or the Hollywood bogeymen as close-minded fascist supporters, and the OP is another in a long line of pointless, baseless rants from **
Hydrocortisone**.
Moving on…
I see that my previous comments regarding you in this thread remain accurate. A meeting of a handful of people can in no way be taken to represent the viewpoints of all, or even most liberals. Now, I’ll admit that there are unreasonably biased liberals. There are liberal nutjobs. Yes, there are even liberals who are not nuanced. But I simply cannot fathom why you seem to think that most or even all liberals are dumb motherfuckers with simplistic hive-mind beliefs. It’s a completely indefensible position.
Just out of curiosity, what liberals claim to be unbiased? Bias on an individual basis isn’t a bad thing, it’s just a sign that you have opinions and beliefs formed from past experience. Do you expect people to form their opinions anew every minute, based only on the facts at hand? And how does a group of people who identify as liberals hating Bush indicate anything about the liberal mindset, other than the fact that liberals by definition find arch-conservative viewpoints repellant?**
Liberals dumb. Dumb sheep. Sheep bad. Want food now.
Hydrocortisone - how is hating Bush being close-minded? Liberals aren’t painting an entire group of people with one brush, like, say, fundies do with homosexuals. We just don’t like one person.
I’m sorry, but all hating one person is hive mentality? 'Scuse me, but don’t we all hate Hitler? Wouldn’t that be a function of hive mentality? I think you’ll find Liberals to be pretty nuanced, thank you - are you suggesting that Michael Moore and Al Gore are on the same paragraph, or even the same page?
Hating a man who has led a country that I used to respect down a path of madness isn’t hive mentality. It’s common sense.
Go find another fire hydrant to piss on, Brutus.
“Hive mentality” Well, that’s just a buzz-word…
I’m just sitting back feeling sorry for some of my conservative friends here - knowing that you’ve now got hydro to contend w/along w/Brutus. I admit we have no shortage of short fused, short minded, ijiots ourselves, you know.
Whats to love? The man ran as a “centrist” - a “uniter, not a divider”. He actually loses the popular vote and proceeds to rule as though he won by a landslide. The nation is more polarized than its been in years. We are commited to pouring our blood and treasure into a hole in the Godforsaken Desert for years. Years! When we raise objections, we are slandered for our lack of “patriotism”, our most idealistic leaders are cravenly insulted as collaborators and cowards. He scoops out buckets of money to shower on the very people who need it least, and corn-holes the poor and helpless.
Fuck him. I don’t need to be polite to a lying creep. A man who dresses himself up in military garb years after deserting his (minimal) military obligations. Elmer Fudd looks in the mirror and sees Churchill. And I am somehow obliged to treat him with respect and deference? No. Not just no, HELL NO!
He wants my respect, he can start with a blubbering apology. Failing that, I have to obligation to hide my contempt, dismay, and revulsion.

Oh, well, shit! Worth saying once, not twice. Sorry bout that.
Hmmm.
OP new idiot. Brutus still idiot, as per usual.
Does that sum this thread up nice enough?
ahhhhh- yup.
Nope, because the OP isn’t a new idiot. He’s been pulling this shit* for the last month.
This shit = Bringing up an incindiary topic he knows is going to blow up, and refuse to back up his comments or even revisit the thread again.
Coldfire, I love you.
