Opening Day in the MMP!!!

Yo, when you rolling into town? I smell an informal ScandiDope.

The threatened deluge overnight didn’t happen and so far from the radar, it looks like the rain is deliberately avoiding St. Mary’s county! DAMMIT!!! We need rain!!!

Other than that, just another day in paradise. **FCD **is happy because he finally figured out the heat flow analysis software and he’s able to do his job again. So yay for him.

One day closer to the weekend. But the big question is: will I ever have an uninterrupted night’s sleep again? I keep waking for no apparent reason at stoopit wee hours, and not to wee. Not amused.

But the Nats won, 6-4, so yay!

Happy Thursday!

Happy Thorsday!

It’s a cloudy 53 degrees outside, supposed to rain all day today and tomorrow.
Sah-son needs to get out there and mow the lawn, he should have done it yesterday.

I got a pretty decent night of sleep last night. If I can fight off the sleepies in the middle of the day and skip a nap, I may be able to get back to a sleep schedule.

Dinner tonight will be tacos for him and deconstructed cabbage rolls for me.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 51 Amurrkin out and clear but windy, with a predicted high of 65, N.O.S. and windy for the day. Sis is at work for a few hours today and I have mom duty. Mom has a Dr. appointment at twelve-fifteen this afternoon. So I have the job of gettin’ her up around nine, makin’ her brekkie, makin’ sure she gets ready and gettin’ to the appointment. This does not sound like much but bear in mind mom is 88 years old and moves sloooooooooow. Brekkie is at least an hour to get through and the gettin’ ready part at least another hour. We do what we do however.

So Mama is a sloth bear; does that mean Pops was a swamp?

****swampy ****- we’re in full-bore concern about FCD’s folks and age-related infirmities. His dad has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and he’s already seeming to despair. He’s losing his mental acuity and physically, he’s so much slower than in recent years. He just turned 87 and for the first time ever, his death seems so very close.

Then there’s his mom and her failing vision - she’ll probably lose her license this year, and if FIL does have Parkinson’s (they’re getting a second opinion), soon he won’t be able to drive either, and that will be bad for both of them. They won’t come to live with us - the best we can hope for is that his bro and SIL will sell their house and move in to care for their folks, altho bro has health issues of his own. It’s a tough situation.

Age is a cruel bitch. :frowning:

Blurf. I decided I need a mental health day and am taking off today. I could clean so I don’t have to do it on the weekend. I could just be a slug. I need to go grocery shopping. We shall see how the day shapes up. Maybe I will sleep on it for a bit.

Looking through my closets. HR repeated a mistake from their early days and put signs around about the home opener Friday; wear your best Pirates Gear. They again forgot to specify Pittsburgh Pirates. I plan on reeducating them on the error of generalities.

I am in hour two of gettin’ mom ready to go to the doctor. I think progress if gettin’ made finally. If this is any indication of what my caregivers are in for, Og help 'em is all I can say.

I like the way your mind works. Yarrrrrrr!

Lunch time! Still nary a drop of rain. Either we won’t get any or the sky will open when I step out of the door on my way to the car. Place your bets now…

Mom finally got ready and she and sis are at the doctor’s office now. I have a load of laundry in the washer. Life goes on.

The your parrot to work day, [del]eh[/del] arrrgh?
Mooommm, Mr. Murphy, the lawyer, says the heavens will open up the second you grab your bag.

Laundry and nappage have been achieved. Go Me! I have been watchin’ Antenna TV off and on all day. Lots of old teevee shows. It’s been a hoot!

I sniff love you, man!

Weather PTTB says we have a storm coming with severe wind and to batten things down. WindyTV (which I love) shows the thing off the coast but they don’t show it coming on shore. Hmmm. Either way, I feel certain we will get rain, because, Orygun.

Hubby comes up tonight. I meet with SSD lawyer tomorrow. This has been kind of a sucky (is to a word) week health and head wise for me, but I really need to do it. It’s about 90 minutes to drive each way.

Other than that, the kids are both home and I did not call school. I guess I will in a bit.

Mexican for dindin tonight. YUM! OYKW is lonely, poor thing. OK, I miss him as well. We shall be together again Sattidy. The wind makes it a might chillified out.

**FCD **had a big lunch today, so I’m on my own for supper - I’ll just have the leftover Chinese from yesterday.

We had t-boomers and rain and sun and rain and it’s sunny again, but I see clouds moving in from the west again, so possibly more rain. Crazy weather…

I found tenderloin in the Used Meat display.

I see it in the Pay Out the Butt display, and wait.

[Casablanca] And wait…and wait…[/Casablanca]

I blame Obama.
I mean Trump.

Mexican comestibles have been ingested. I took sis’s advice and ordered a steak 'n chikin fajita burrito. It was chock full of steak, chikin, peppers, onion, and 'shrooms, wrapped in a burrito and covered with cheese, lettuce, 'maters, and sour cream. I’s stuffded! So stuffded I may not want ice cream later.

I found, in another SDMB thread, the most gross thing man or demon ever created.
Swampy, you should be sitting on the infamous fainting couch if you click on this link
