Moooom, have you ever done marbelized deviled aigs? You make spiderweb cracks in the shells before dipping them. Once peeled, they have the lines where the cracks were.
butters, before moving this summer, I had a 32 and change mile commute each way for 11.5 years. Once I got onto the parkway, it was easy, but I was amazed at the amount of time that I have in the evenings now. I go to bed an hour later and get home half an hour earlier.
We went to the Music City Roots broadcast last night. The place where we ate supper had good food (I had a chicken Ceasar and a cup of gumbo) but the service was just about nonexistant. The show featured a terrific blues singer/guitarist, two alt bluegrass groups and an alt Western Swing group. We left during the fourth set and I didn’t get home until nearly eleven.
Getting a project that doesn’t require much equipment together to take to crafting with the heathens Saturday. A lot of the participants do needle craft of some sort, but I play with paper. We’re looking at several charitable organizations to donate to, but it will mostly be a social gathering.
“The heart is deceitful about all things, and desperately corrupt; who can understand it?”
-Jeremiah XVII:9
As you know, Jeremiah XVII:9 was a chap with great insight into these matters, as well as being a little barmy himself.
Esquire Murphy got me just after I was released. I stayed (dry) at irk for an extra 20 mins or so. Saw a highball truck tire water fountain on the ride home (iffn it looks good from the dashcam I’ll post a clip of it), & then I got to the edge of the storm. It was sunny but everything was still wet, the trees & the expwy, so cars were kicking mist up from their tires, which was being illuminated by the sun - it looked like it was snowing because the glistening water drops looked white & the trees looked like they were ice crusted. Very !
Speaking of dashcams; Tugig, what do you think of this for the rear? Cost is free since I already have it, or should I spend money on this one? (I have your recommended Z-Edge Z3 for the front)
Shame on you; you didn’t say, “OLE!”
That’s not even near the worst thing that comes in a can.
P.S. It is NOT okay to play with your food.
Had Papa Murphy’s ‘Extra Large New York’ pizza for dinner. I wasn’t transported to heaven, as many people (mostly New Yorkers) would have you believe, but it was pretty good, albeit a bit salty. I may buy it again if it continues to be at their present $7.00 price point.
Wifey’s off at some meeting or other, so I’ll get her take on it when she gets home.
Mom, did you try that Zuppa Tuscana recipe? Did you use spicy Italian sausage?
Just wondering.
Flytrap, I have actually eaten a whole canned chicken, when I was an impoverished college student, and it was definitely grosser than that… thing.
Put away everything in the back yard that might get blown away. We’re ready for tonight.
My mother used to make quite good chicken noodle soup with those canned chickens and the frozen noodles.
Tomorrow’s the last day at irk. As slow as it’s been at my location, hardly seems like they really needed us this week anyway.
Decided I needed to replace my phone, and found a great deal on the model I settled on on eBay ($20 less than Virgin Mobile wanted for the same phone). New toy arrives Monday.
We had a real tornado warning in suburban DC today, which turned out to be unnecessary but which led to some “fun” at work as we had to move all the students out of classrooms and into the hallways and have them crouch down against the walls with their hands covering their heads for a good 15 minutes. My apartment has no basement but I guess if I’d been home, I’d have shut myself in the bathroom. Good times!
I’m ashamed to say that I haven’t cooked anything this week except for a Kraft Mac-n-cheese. But I may whip it up this weekend while the veggie-beef soup is simmering. I’ll consult with my spousal unit as to how spicy he wants the sausage, since I’ll be making it for him. Would you happen to know if it freezes OK?
Weird happening this morning. I turned on the TV to catch the headlines and weather before heading to the shower, and I saw a commercial for Toys for Tots, complete with a lighted Christmas tree! Either someone at channel 7 goofed, or it’s a coded signal to an undercover operative…
TGIF! I’m going to stop at Lowe’s on my way home to get some plants for my planters. Impatiens for the 4 concrete planters out front, and petunias and maybe marigolds for the big round pots out back. I may look at ground cover, too. Depends on how I feel after work.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 44 Amurrkin out and clear in Ye Olde Home Towne, with a predicted high of 66 and N.O.S. for the day. Also very windy out. Glad I brought jeans with me. Today I shall visit unc this mornin’ (he’s more lucid in the mornin’) and go ridin’ around to look at some of my old haunts in the area. Haven’t been to some places in a while so that should keep me entertained. Sis is takin’ mom to get her do and nails did.
::clutches pearls:: ::faints:: :eek:
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then I shall purtify and head out.
Hey, holiday shopping season is right around the corner…
The bad weather in the South the past couple of days gave me a pass, but the temperature this morning is 42F and I’ve had to turn the furnace back up. Coached girls yesterday, boys today, and both teams play games tomorrow. This is beginning to wear me down.
Managed to get the check for my car (due any day now) cut and did a little shopping on Thorsday, but still need to Hoover the living quarters.
OK - I’ve been out in the wind a few times now. The drive to Portland is going to suck majorly. I’m taking the little car. The Suburban would get blown all over the road.
(I’m doing my part to get us to page 4. We have been a quiet MMP this week!)
Already in my finery just in case anyone comes to the door; no point in decking out like this and not having fun with it. A couple more friends/coworkers are leaving next week so I’m really trying for the silly factor with eye patch and everything – give them some memories of why they are going to miss this joint. It’s part time and our HR is even worse than I’ve said so it is a bit of a revolving door; if you make it through your first month you are already pretty much “senior”. But there are just enough of us who understand the “have fun” aspect of our motto to make it a place folks come to enjoy.
My computer was possessed, or something. Three times this morning, I got an error message about my video driver, then it shut down my CAD software. After the 3rd time, I did a restart, and so far, so good.
