You must be new here. Bathrooms are down the hall and leave a quarter if you’re taking coffee. Thanks.
Totally uncalled for. Maybe you could just see your way out of the rest of these threads if that’s the way your planning to play.
I really hate to turn this into a ‘what are we allowed to say’, ‘what has to be boxed’ etc mess. So how about, like I said, nothing at all beyond the episode in the title gets discussed. Not even within spoiler boxes. I’m fine with speculation, but you just ruined part of the show for me.
This seems like a pretty simple rule.
Biffy, dropping a spoiler, however vague, into an episode 1 thread is, well, jerkish. Do not do that again.
No warning issued.

I apologize for “ruining” anyone’s enjoyment of the show, but I am genuinely baffled that everyone is pissed off with me for including a (very minor) spoiler inside a spoiler box. Hell, it wasn’t even really a spoiler at all; unfortunately, I can’t properly defend that point without compounding the supposed damage. But I did not reveal any event or twist that happens later in the show.
It would have been jerkish to drop my comment in the thread without boxing it. I thought I was being considerate by boxing the spoiler. I certainly understand how some people don’t want to know anything whatsoever about a storyline in advance. I’m like that myself to a large extent. What I don’t understand is why a person like that would blithely go ahead and click on a spoiler box, and then blame me for it. The whole fucking point of spoiler boxes is that you don’t see the contents without making an effort to.
I have no idea what TBBT is, as mentioned in the OP, but I’m aware of some drama regarding spoilers in Game of Thrones threads, even though I’ve never read any of them. So if the OP referred to an existing rule in other threads where even boxed spoilers are explicitly declared out of bounds, then I apologize for missing that. But I was genuinely unaware of such a thing, and I frankly don’t understand it. I thought I was abiding by the board’s standard rules, and I am hurt and puzzled at being called “jerkish” and “lame” for it.
To head off any hijack: I am not arguing for any right to continue putting spoilers where they are not wanted. I absolutely do not want to do that. In fact, having made myself unwelcome here, I do not intend to return to this or any subsequent OITNB thread. Sorry to have offended with the spoiler. Twickster, if you want to redact it, I’m cool with that. Have fun, kids.
What you posted WAS a spoiler, clearly, obviously, unambiguously. It really was a spoiler, there’s no defense you can make to that, I don’t see how you can possibly maintain that it was not. I’ll be glad to argue the point with you in ATMB or anywhere else that’s permissible if you like. You do not have a habit of spoiling threads so I think there may be some misunderstanding on your part of what a spoiler is, hence I don’t consider you to be malicious here. But … that was a spoiler.
You could have just not said it.
Often times people spoiler other things. Jokes, speculation, NSFW links etc. Discussion about a future episode, with no warning about what was in the box, there was no reason for that.
People, could you drop it? Just – drop it.
This thread is for discussing the first episode of the second season of OITNB. All other discussion of each other’s actions or your own is really off-topic.
Thanks,
twicks
Hi, Biffy. I’m the Original Poster. By “TBBT”, I was referring to “The Big Bang Theory”. Whether you’ve read them or not, you’ve probably seen the threads appear on the New Posts page when TBBT is showing new episodes.
Twickster has asked that we not comment on anything besides Episode 1 in this thread. So I’ll comply.
