Orange, orange, orange

“Oranges toranges, who says?
Oranges loranges, who says?
Oranges smoranges, who says
There ain’t no rhyme for oranges?”

– Witchypoo

Lola Falana? Close, though Lola probably wouldn’t like the sound of it.

"Banana fanna fo fanna… :: something, something, something ::

Thanks a whole lot. I’ve had this stupid song in my head ever since I read that post. It pisses me off even more that I can’t remember the words or attribute the source.

I don’t know the source, but it’s the name game! We used to play it on the first day of school in k-2 or 3

Chris, Chris bo bis,
banana fanna fo fis

While I don’t know your version, I have to say- I kinda like it!

It has that whole me thing going.

As much as I love orange tic-tacs, my favorite flavor will always be “Purple”.

It doesn’t always taste like grape. Sometimes–it’s unidentifiable all together. But Purple is a good color. It’s never let me down!

The height of comedy, of course, was to trick someone into playing the name game with “Chuck.”

Hey Snooooopy, now that I’ve made a mess of your other thread, I’ll bring up something totally safe and uncontroversial.

Does anyone remember Bierley’s orange soda? One of the few in its time that was not carbonated. Orange Crush and Nehi just don’t do it for me. I’ve heard that it’s still made in Thailand or somewhere like that.

For the ultimate in orange flavor, nothing beats an Italian Blood Orange. If you haven’t had one you haven’t lived.

Fresh squoze orange juice is up there too.
As to what rhymes with the word “orange”, my own nomination and discovery is (pronounced with an Aussie accent):

“Door hinge.”

Works perfectly (for me at least).

sk8rixtx: I agree with you that Terry’s Chocolate Orange tastes like milky crap.

What should change your mind about chocolate and orange is Oxfam’s Maya Gold. It’s 70% cocoa chocolate with orange oil, all organic. You’ll never want to eat regular chocolate again.

monster, I love those orange balls too. I just like whacking them on the table, and I love the taste combination of orange and chocolate.

But I am willing to try Oxfam’s Maya Gold.

Might I be the first to step in here and mention that “cabana” rhymes with banana quite nicely. Thank you and good night.

I was reading Mr. Showbiz tonight, and guess what I ran across? An article called, “Oranges Not the Only Food for Billy Bob”. Apparently, Billy Bob Thornton’s press agent is refuting rumors that ol’ Mr. Jolie is eating ONLY orange-colored foods!!!

Mentioned include papayas, carrots, pumpkins, and oranges.

I wonder if he eats only the orange M & Ms?

Damn … if you hadn’t already seen me at the DopeFest, I could have tried to lead you to believe that I indeed AM Billy Bob Thornton. Then you would say, “So, how’s Angelina?” and I would respond," Oh, fine. Her lips are fine. Everything’s fine." Then we’d talk about “Sling Blade” and I’d tell you about how everyone comes up to me and talks in that weird voice and I feel like slashing them with a sling blade, and you’d feel sorry for me and stuff.

We could have had such a good time.

I woulda asked that you show off your shiny gold statue…

Actually it’s a good thing you’re not Mr. Jolie, cuz I would’ve railed on you for thinking marriage was disposable (five times… I mean, REALLY!), for beating up on your wimmin, and for running out and gettin’ hitched to Ms. Fish Lips while your supposed honey buns Laura Dern was off making a picture someplace else.

Now… go eat some Cheetos!!

Quite possibly my favorite rhyme of all time is:

Afghanistan
Banana Stand

Wow, if I were Billy Bob Thornton, I would have scored with Laura Dern AND Angelina Jolie?

I’ll swap you my oranges for your reds and greens.
Orange always makes my lips pucker. As I kid I always had the orange and yellow Lifesavers left over for swapping. Then my brother would give me the mint and licorice Jujyfruits.

Syringe rhymes with orange, if you count feminine rhymes. So does phalange.

I’ve always wanted to find a thread I could say that in!

Yeah yeah, and “orange” rhymes with “door hinge” too.

But try to find something that rhymes with silver or purple!

Isn’t the pronunciation closer to Háh-bah-nah?
